2013 Candlelight Processional Watch

Seems like every time someone calls, there is a different (non) answer. It will happen when it happens. :confused3 No choice but to be patient and hope for the best.:)

First christmas time visit and so excited! CP is definitely a must do and appreciate all the info from this thread. Any suggestions on what restaurant to try to book? Does it help to be close to the pavilion in order to get in line faster? Do they allow plenty of time for transit between dinner and the CP? Thanks! :)

There is plenty of time to get from the restaurant to the theater. The reservations are grouped according to the show you are seeing, this info is from 2011:

Show 1 (5:00pm): Dining reservation between 1:45pm-2:45pm

Show 2 (6:45pm): Dining reservation between 3:30pm-4:30pm

Show 3 (8:15pm): Dining reservation between 5:00pm-6:00pm

This is a general idea, last year I think my reservation was around 12:45.

As for what restaurant, I say pick the one you will enjoy the most!

Agreed, plenty of time to get there. I thought I would hate it but I actually love La Hacienda de San Angel Inn. I was so disappointed one year because that's all I could get, but it turned out to be really good.

I almost hate to say how good La Hacienda is because I like that I we can usually get a reservation more last minute, but La Hacienda is on our family's "must do" every visit. Our kids, my husband and I, we all love the food, the view, the service, the atmosphere. I know, 'to each his own," but they have not disappointed us. We are from Texas, too, with some of the best Mexican food int he country yet we really enjoy this location. Experience has taught us we do NOT like San Angel Inn. Surprisingly they are under the same ownership/management, yet are so very different. The pork mole is something I look forward to every visit.

I'm concerned about this. We were hoping to attach a reservation for the latest showing to our lunch reservation. Is that not going to be doable?

From what I understand you get 1 appetizer, 1 entrée, 1 beverage and 1 dessert per person. Is there a certain menu for candlelight processional?

I'm afraid that won't be possible unless the process drastically changes this year. The shows are tied to certain ADR time blocks.

Even if it was possible, you cannot attach a package to an existing reservation. The reservation has to be cancelled, and you have to book a package specifically.

I don't believe there are separate menus. When I went last year we chose off the regular menu.

I'm going to struggle eating an entree / appetiser & desert

Can I share main course ( entree ) with my DW under CP package?

Each individual must pay for the CP package in full in order to receive a "guaranteed ticket" to the CP.

I hate how this takes 2 meals from the dining plan. The Fantasmic dining package is the same sort of deal and they don't require 2(unless you eat at the HBD.) What gives?

Idk, but it could be because you get to see 2 shows - the Candlelight Processional and Illuminations?

Probably because it became wildly popular and Disney never passes up a chance to make a little extra $$$. ;)

Personally, I think it's worth it - 2 TS credits equals out to about $64. and it includes a 3 course meal with a non-alcoholic drink, guaranteed seating to CP [as long as you get there in time] and a decent viewing area for Illuminations. :thumbsup2

I knew that we wouldn't be able to attach it to an existing reservation. But our lunch plan is Nine Dragons, which my husband loves, but which is also to easy to get a reservation for. Right now we're hoping for Garden Grill on what we hope is our CP night, and we have a reservation already. I'm thinking it's going to be hard to get a decent time if we have to cancel and rebook it as a CP package.

As far as I know, they set aside a certain number of packages at each restaurant. So as long as you call as soon as they are released, which it sounds like you'll be able to do since you know your date and where you want to eat, you should have no problems getting the package for the date/time/restaurant you are wanting. Even though you can make normal reservations at those restaurants right now and they might appear to be booking up, they should still have package availability once they are released as they should have planned accordingly for that.

True. This will be my first time at Epcot around Christmas, so I'm not sure how hard it really is to get in the Processional just by waiting in line. But I'd rather not risk it, so I'll be using the 2 adrs.

So wait, the CP package includes seating for Illuminations too? This is the first I've heard that and makes it MUCH more worth it, in my opinion, for two credits. My husband LOVES Illuminations.

It does, but from everything I've read on here, the viewing area isn't very good and you'd be better off just finding your own spot. Any truth to this, for the people who have done this before?
