We actually experienced the opposite, F&W was busier on MNSSHP nights. :upsidedow
It's not fully updated yet, but I found the best menus were on DisneyFoodBlog.

Thanks BringUpDisney! Total bummer:sad2:! There are 3 nights of MNSSHP while we're there! So it will be busy! I just subscribed to that blogs newsletter last night! Great minds.... When does full menu list get released?

Thanks Angeejoe... I really want him to retire and enjoy life just a little!

I'll supplement meals with CL (I LOVE AKL CL) and I'm pretty sure I will walk in to Bongo's for an early lunch one day!! I am a BIG fan of Bongo's (my favorite place to eat at Disney)
So far I have reservations (all dinner)
10/30 f&w for the night
10/31 Le Cellier
11/1 Garden Grill (first time!!)
11/2 Nothing so could be f&w (if crowded I will figure it out)
11/3 Be Our Guest
11/4 headed home

I read about f&w menus on Disney Food Blog. They have a facebook page and I follow them there.

Your ADRs sound great Nanette! We did Le Cellier last year, I loved it (dh still prefers yachtmans, but i liked Le Cellier better). Last month my aunt & I had BOG for lunch, it was really great, especially for a QS! Id love to hear how the TS is there. I loved the inside of BOG! We always wanted to try Garden Grill, I love it inside the Land.

Dee - thanks for attempting to answer my question:thumbsup2 I actually was able to find out with a bit of searching, and it looks like the IG guest services will be open at least until 30 mins past closing - so no worries for us

Of course I'm invited! I follow NM everywhere she goes! Today I, Buzzy the Fly slept in so I didn't catch up with Ninja Mom until I saw her dragging a hefty bag full of Pretzel bread out if Le Cellier . She left the park to go for a swim but I had some dumpsters I wanted to try so we split up. Ill catch up with her at the pool and I'll see if I can make her spaz out enough to scare all the people at the pool!

Your friend Buzzy the fly!

Can you blame NM for the bag of pretzel bread:confused3 It is amazing. My DH wants his Bday dinner there just so he can dip that bread in the beer cheese soup;)

ohhh.. you have the elusive BOG res

Just wanted to let you all know we are at the Disneyland Hotel and LOVE it. We are staying club level and it is beautiful. The cast members couldn't be more helpful and so sweet. The offerings here are a bit more plentiful and varied than where we have stayed at WDW. Our view is awesome, looking over the parks. We are able to watch the fireworks from our room and the music is piped in over the television. :woohoo::woohoo:

Carsland is awesome. It looks just like the movie. The attention to detail is amazing. Well, sorry to go off topic, just wanted to share.

one of these days I am going to follow my DH to CA on his annual business trip so I can go to Disneyland:cool2:

Waiting in line at F! for the second show so I thought I would use the time wisely and update.

yesterday we did ak which was good. We did all that we wanted to do and left by 2. We went right to expedition Everest got FP and rode it twice at the very beginning of the day. Then FP safari which was good because the wait was long and looked miserable. Everywhere in the park was wet and damp.It had rained the night before but it seemed more humid there than when we got out of there. We are in the 3 outfit per day mode!

Got in the pool when we got back. The games for the kids were fun.
Went to Epcot in the pm. Kids wanted then to go to MK by monorail which we did but it made them very sleepy. Hubby decided just to catch a bus back to BC from mk-sounded like a good idea. Ran into major wait for the bus. When we got there people said that they had been waiting 40 min. When we were waiting the other resorts had 2 buses come and go. A Boardwalk bus showed up so we took it. When we left the beach clubers were still waiting. There was a bus accident so dont know if that was a beach club bus or not. We have had SRO buses all week. I have been standing and have thought that I hope we don't crash especially coming back from MK and it seems like you are on an interstate going fast.

Ended the night with beaches and cream, so that made it all good!

Still standing in line but battery is dying.

Hi Teena and BC/YC friends,

We r also staying BC SV CL in Oct. Are all CL rooms on the 5th floor? We have a party of 5 so I understand a balcony might not work for us with the daybed which is fine. I think we would rather be closer to the CL lounge. Should we ask for close to elevators/lobby?

A CM told me that because we had 5 people we couldn't stay GV CL. Think that was correct info???

Thanks all!

I believe there is only one GV CL room that sleeps five and therefore they probably don't book that category for a party of five. Same with lagoon view ... there are very few that sleep five so they just don't book that category for families with five.

All the regular CL rooms (not suites or deluxe rooms) are on the fifth floor. I would suggest adding "close to lounge" to your reservation if that is what you want.

Actually, it's only standard view with 5 people. At least it's that way on club level. Not sure about the rest of the resort, but it would make sense that it would all be that way.

That's correct for club level but you can book water view and garden view regular rooms with parties of five.

Yes, yes, yes I do! I can't wait to try it out.. DD and DSIL had dinner there while on their honeymoon and said it was nice.

Follow your DH to CA and visit DL!!! I LOVE Disneyland! You just have to remember what it is and take it for that while there!!

Now I am off to lala land if I can sleep... visited the dentist today and just like I thought... I still don't like the dentist!!!

Nite nite all sweet YC/BC/BCV dreams!!

If I remember correctly, info comes out in a series of announcements over the next several months, first the booths and then the menus.

After a morning at Epcot and lunch at Le Cellier we had an afternoon swim in the, as I now have come to call it, PARTY pool. This is different from the "Quiet Pool" in that you have every conceivable type of person lurking in this pool and they are bound to cause you trouble.

'Fer' instance, we shall start with "The little kid" This mini person exists in the pool to splash your freshly fixed bee hive hair doo and clog up the slide line so not as many grown ups can ride. These pool dwellers are easily identifiable by their need to just keep swimming lest they sink. They are frequently accompanied by arm floats or enormously swollen swim diapers which serve to act as ballast in the rough seas of the main pool.

Next up we have the slightly drunkin crabby Dad. You can always tell the slightly drunkin crabby Dad by the rockin sunburn he is sporting, which he is completely oblivious too. These people are parents, which explains the need for alcoholic beverages. The slightly drunkin crabby Dad is frequently given the assignment to "Watch the kids in the pool!!!!1!!1111!!!!!!" by the spouse, also known as ~She Who Must Be Obeyed~. "She" is usually passed out on a lounge chair some where in a shady area of the pool. To wake her means instant death!

Next up you have the retired couple who drag all their junk over to the Party pool, get settled in and then the music starts for the games. These people wonder what they heck just happened. These folks are easily identified when they ask you "how long is that infernal racket is going to last?" When you tell them "ALL AFTERNOON" they pack up their stuff in a huff and retreat back to the room.

Next you have "the Parent who just has to show the kids that it's OK to go down the slide." (this would be Ninja Mom!) The fact that the kiddies are in their teens in no way dissuades this person from giving slide lessons anyway. Everyone at the pool knows that it's really the parent that wants to go down the kiddie slide and the kids are just props in this quest to relive their youth. This person can be found in their local emergency room when they return from vacation where it is discovered that they have 6 herniated discs and a couple of PVC splinters in their keister.

So that sums up today's activities in the pool, the highlight of which was when a life guard freaked out, jump in the pool and rescued what turned out to be an elderly person's 4 foot long knee wrap that had floated off. Fun times!!

Tune in tomorrow when I'll fill you in on my charitable activities. I volunteered to do a 'Meals on Disney transportation wheels" run and deliver pretzel bread to a lonely older woman who is down to one good tooth and who may or may not have a working refrigerator.

How lucky has everyone gotten with room requests?
I've been pretty lucky. Most of the time I get my requests, I think the room assignors really try hard.

We are back from our week in Disney World and wanted to say thank you to everyone and all of their helpful advice. We would have been completely lost if not for boards like this. Despite all the rain, we had a good time. I think the most useful tip for us was the secret entrance/exit to the BC near Epcot. Our room was on the very end YC and we were able to walk inside or on covered walkways to that point when it was raining out. I tried (not hard) to find the fitness club locker rooms but couldn't and didn't have time to look up the thread to find them. We didn't spend too much time at SAB anyway between the rain, the time at the parks and how tired everyone was by the time we got back.

We booked a GV this trip and should we return, DH is requesting a water view. We contemplated trying to upgrade this trip but decided against it as it was a short trip and didn't want to spend time repacking and moving. We were not out on the patio much....mostly to spray on our sunscreen.

We booked our girls (6 and 8) on the Albatross Cruise. It was awesome to sleep in a bit and then walk out the door to the marina. The girls had a blast and DH and I enjoyed the kid free two hours. I highly recommend this cruise if you have children. We headed into France for a pastry. I thought maybe I could get some school bread in Norway but they were not open yet. Long walk around the showcase for nothing. :( But on the bright side, I didn't have to carry or drag a child around with me. :)

We had booked an illuminations cruise on Saturday night but another storm had moved in that afternoon and we ended up not doing it as it was raining when we were supposed to be checking in and we didn't want to be miserable on a boat in the rain. The guy at the marina was very nice and let us out of the commitment.

The one thing I was truly disappointed in was the fact that all of the baked goods (rolls/buns/pastries/cookies etc) at Disney could possibly be cross contaminated with peanuts/tree nuts. The ice cream served at the restaurants was the same way. My DD has a peanut allergy and I heard how wonderful Disney was about allergies and they were very attentive and making sure the meal was allergen free. But it made the dessert and snack portion of the dining plan very restrictive. The baked good thing kind of messed up our dining plan strategies as I was planning on using snack credits for breakfast muffins etc. We ended up with 12 snack credits the night before we left so we burned them on lollypops to bring home as gifts. We didn't spend much time in the marketplace since it was so far from our room so I didn't realize until the last day we could have gotten cereal with a snack credit.

We probably will go back, however, we will wait until the girls are older, more independent and with more stamina.

Thanks Again for all your help.
That was us our first time on the DDP. Our last day we were in the grab & go market of CBR stocking up on Mickey rice crispy heads and anything else that we could pack to use up our snack credits, when the CM says- ya know you could have used those snack credits for breakfast, milk & cereal, etc :faint:

haha, Parking lot view over roof view for me too, please! :rotfl2:

:cheer2: Yay, it's getting closer!!
yup. Almost online check in time!! :cheer2::cheer2: getting closer!!

Hefty bag indeed!!! I can see the Orlando Sentinel headlines already, police called to Disney pool to take away lady scarring all the children at the pool, parents had to grab their children and run! :rotfl:

'

You can't reserve waterview CL with a party of 5 either - only sv or deluxe rooms. You used to be able to do gv cl. Wish we could have done the deluxe room again but we're staying for 16 nights so that was out of our price range!
Huh! I thought more rooms would have the daybed. Our GV room did, just got lucky I guess. We really enjoyed the extra seating. Don't always feel like sitting in the bed.

Too funny NM!:rotfl::rotfl:
We will be there in a couple of weeks, slightly drunkin crabby Dad, the seven year old that is NEVER happy, the eleven year old that thinks she is the center of the universe, and me, sipping fruity drinks in the shade :beach: JUST CAN'T WAIT!!

Now that is funny!!! I can't wait to add my crazy family to the mix!:cool1::cool1:

From one Kerry to another...isn't the location great!! We visited DL for the first time last August. We stayed off site but I loved how everything was so close. Downtown Disney is small but my family loved it and how you walked through DTD to get to the parks. Disneyland Hotel and the Grand Californian were beautiful. Love how you viewed the fireworks!

I'll miss you too! It seems like just yesterday we had our first Dis Meet. Wasn't that the year of the early morning fire alarm.

Luckily we got an AP rate - I can get the teacher discount rate at Swan and Dolphin so we might end up there one year.

Yes that was the year...crazy!! I thought about getting APs since we may be back within a year. After I bought the 7 day PH (just before ticket prices went up) I realized I could have just bought one AP and hoped for a discount in October...oh well!

Yes, I believe that was the year! Even though at the time it was a little strange, it's one of our "unique" memories of all if our trips. Everyone was standing outside in the early morning in their pajamas!! Ssssoooooo many memories from the YC/BC.

Kerry: good to hear from you on this thread again.

Hi YCFAN...yes it's good to be posting again. It was great meeting everyone at that DIS Meet. To everyone else that can possibly attend one of the Meets...DO IT! You will have fun!!

Kerry

NM- your analysis of the pool crowd is spot on... :lmao:

Waiting in line at F! for the second show so I thought I would use the time wisely and update.

Ended the night with beaches and cream, so that made it all good!

Still standing in line but battery is dying.

Love ending my night at Beaches and Cream
:goodvibes
Yes, yes, yes I do! I can't wait to try it out.. DD and DSIL had dinner there while on their honeymoon and said it was nice.

Follow your DH to CA and visit DL!!! I LOVE Disneyland! You just have to remember what it is and take it for that while there!!

Now I am off to lala land if I can sleep... visited the dentist today and just like I thought... I still don't like the dentist!!!

Nite nite all sweet YC/BC/BCV dreams!!

I think I may just follow him out this August :scratchin

I feel the same way about the dentist:scared:

Oh my gosh this is TOO funny. I think I would be the one showing the kids how to go down the slide! BFF and I have a trip planned for October, no kids. We are totally trying out all the slides! :thumbsup2
