Ok, so I'm off topic :goodvibes but does anyone know if we can use noodles in the lazy rivers at the WPs?

I always thought not, but last August we saw small kiddie size foam noodles, kinda odd rectangular shaped ones floating in the river at BB.

I'd much rather float on a noodle where I can be submerged in the hot August heat rather then sitting on top of a ring. And hard to get onto!! The rings :p

We always buy noodles for August. This year I've seen those inflatable noodles made by Intex I'm going to try! Will be great for SAB. And would be wonderful if we can bring them to the WP too. And the bobbing pool at BB. I know there's no way they'd let then in the TL pool! But I have hopes for the lazy rivers!

Mickey T you are so right about Teena! She is the epitome of Disney and BC. Much like Ranger Stan was at WL.

To answer an earlier question, as of last summer, pool noodles are allowed.

At the water parks?

Sue- I was going to suggest you ask over on the Theme Park boards and hope that Cheshire Figment himself answers your question.

I'll try to remember to ask the lifeguards at SAB about the inflatable noodles when I am there in July.

:)

Does anyone know what’s going on at the Yacht Club between 8/20 and 8/30 (when we are going)? I did a search on rooms during that time frame and there are none available.

I put in a room request (staying standard view club at YC) for a room near the Admiral or Commodore suites hoping to get a room on the water side closer to the lounge. If anyone has a better suggestion, let me know. Would get an official water view but we have 5 in our party.

Not sure if there is a conference or something else going on, but I know that a lot of people booked the resort for those dates through a special offered earlier in the year.

:cool2:

Ok - it is DONE!!!!!! :cool1:

Just grabbed the CL Lagoon or Pool view at BC and canceled dining. I think it's the best option for us. Although we are total foodies, we never use all of the credits and just can't eat all of the food that's included. We loved having TIW last year as AP holders so we could still get a discount yet order exactly what (and how much) we wanted. Honestly, I may even cancel a few TS meals - scheduled one or two extra just to make sure we were getting the value from the DxDP.

Very happy! Thank you!!!!!! :flower3:

I agree with the others- great call! I am a very enthusiastic eater and my family booked the Deluxe Dining Plan on our first onsite stay in 2008. It nearly killed me trying to keep up with the pace of eating, and we even did a lot of counter service meals.

My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your dad.

Not a bad idea. I've been trying to watch for deals on them - Target has them a few times a year, right?

If you are a member at Sam's Club, they offer discounted Gift Cards there, too ($47 for $50 GC)

::yes::

Thank you for the great info everyone!!! My DH really wanted to stay at the Poly so I decided since it's already booked and paid for and possibly the last time before construction on the DVC starts, we would stick with the Poly. I did tell him this time I want to visit BC and consider staying there next year.

Thanks for letting us know. Hope you find yourself back this way sometime in the future!

:goodvibes:

Dee- I have 1 last change to our dates:rolleyes1 We are now arriving on 7/1 instead of 7/2. :cool1: Check out is still 7/8 BC GV

17 more days :yay:

I'll update the list.

:goodvibes

BTW the diamond horseshoe was the best CS we have ever had at MK.
Too bad it is only opened seasonally. The food was great, the cms nice, it was organized and cool inside. Food comes from liberty tavern next door.

Thanks for that recommendation. Never really considered the Diamond Horseshoe (we love Columbia Harbor House), but I am going to check out the menu.

:thumbsup2

:off topic: I have a pair of Naot sandles that I wear at Disney, super comfy. I also find Clark's to be great. I've also been getting a lot of emails on Ugg sandles & boat type slip ons that are super cute. I live in all of my Uggs (non summer of course) because they feel so good, so thinking these may be good for me.

I read a tip that said spray your feet with with spray anti-perspiration deodorant to prevent blister & really if feet get wet. I haven't tried it yet.

We always pack Body Glide to prevent chafing (I think I have seen suggestions to use it for your feet, too) and we bring moleskin in case we feel blisters starting.

What I have learned in the past few days is that I don't have nearly enough sandals for my trip!!! I usually wear sneakers in the parks, and will wear simple Columbia sandals if it is going to be a wet day. But I may look into some of the suggestions you all have provided and treat myself to some flip flops.

:scratchin

Yes, we'll be at the Dessert party on the 3rd. Very excited about that!! I remember chatting about it when we both booked a few weeks back. Maybe we'll be seated near each other :).
This is a trip for celebrations... both my daughters have summer birthdays that we are celebrating and my oldest has been named a state finalist for National American Miss, Miss Tennessee. Her pageant is two weeks after our trip, so the first few weeks of our summer break have been crazy between planning for Disney and the pageant. I'm a teacher, and for once I haven't even thought about the first day of school (which is unusual for me).
Anyway, back to our trip...hope your last couple of weeks go by quickly. I am loving keeping up with this thread. I just read about all of the festivities at Epcot on the 4th, and I'm so excited to be able to walk right into the park, and then sneak out the back when the droves of people are heading for the front of the park! I'm trying to keep track of all the tips that you, Teena, and our other wonderful posters give. I'm actually checking in two weeks from today. With being off work I'm getting my weekdays mixed up!
See you soon!

Congratulations to your dd!

We are celebrating two summer birthdays - dd's Sweet 16 and ds 13th and also my other dd's 8th grade graduation. Lots of cakes to order!

I am secretary at my kids' school and we just finished yesterday. Still have to work at our big fundraiser (golf tournament) on Monday and then I'm mostly free!!! Still running around like crazy for ds's 12 year old All Star baseball team.

I am day dreaming about Disney and BC way too much!

A clarification to pool noodles... I thought the question was having them at the pool at the resort, not the water parks. Yes to resort, don't know about water parks.

Sailing out on the Fantasy today :). Will be at the BC for our first stay on the 22nd. Can't believe that it's finally here :)

Finally made it to single digits.:cool1: Don't know how much longer I could wait!

I can't wait for the day I'm down to single digits! You must be ready to explode with excitement! Five weeks from today, we'll be checking in BC CL. I've been reading & keeping up with posts all along & even dreaming Disney. It's the only way to make time pass at this point. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for ideas, tips, laughs, pictures, trip reports & giving me my daily (hourly) Disney fix. Hope everyone has a magical day!!

I just checked our count down on My Experience. We hit 70days!!!:cool1:

I think I will totally freak when it hits 60 day mark.. I really haven't started my disney pile yet!:scared:

Last trip I wore just regular sandals to the park. I can NOT wear sneakers in the summer. If my feet are hot so is my body. But I want something more comfy than old navy flip flops.

any recommendations???? I ordered croc flip flops. I am soooo not a crocs person. But I trying to avoid blisters

I feel the same way as you regarding your feet! I LOVE the croc flip flops and I am not a croc person either. They are just so comfortable. I also like the Nike flip flops that have the soft cushion bottom. Good luck shopping!

Body Glide is a great addition to the "packing list" anyway for chafing issues in general ;) ...in a pinch you can use deodorant.

59 days....WOW!!!!

For my last trip I ordered a disney sun visor. I was able to customize it (color/logo etc). I would like to order one for my DD 11. But of course now I can't remember where I bought it. I thought it was from the Disney Store, but I'm not having any luck. I know someone here will know!

Countdown is down to 39 Days!!!!!!

We usually wear regular Crocs to the park. I have some of the flip flops- they're ok, but not awesome. LOVE my Teva Mush flip flops, but not sure if I'm brave enough to wear them for an entire day. Don't love my Teva sandals so much...I only wear them as water shoes. I've been toying with trying Merrell sandals- expensive but I LOVE my other Merrell's...my jungle mocs are more comfortable than tennis shoes (but would be WAY too hot in the parks)

For all you that know Jeanne, wanted to let you know she is in recovery and should be home in about 3 hours. We'll get all the pathology results in about a week or so they said. Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys as well. pixiedust:

We are switching from POFQ to yacht club. Will I be disappointed with a standard view room? I am already not expecting any view of water. It is our first stay here so I have nothing to compare it to. Any room request I should make or a specific room number?

I booked a standard view too, with my special I am unable to upgrade to garden view, but if you can book a garden view, for a small amount more, it's worth it.
So, for my standard view I requested non roof view, upper floor near lobby. I can handle looking out over parking lot, just not a roof!!

Ok! Yes I do know we can use them at SAB :goodvibes. Looking forward to trying my new inflatable noodle this trip!!

Dee good idea, I'll go ask on the Parks thread!

:welcome: to the thread!!!

Is your trip in September? I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1 (post 15)

:woohoo:

I am copying off some info from the FAQ post on Page 1 (Post 13). Hopefully, these will start to answer your questions:

What will the view from my room be?

Effective with reservations on January 1, 2011, the view categories at the Beach and Yacht Clubs were reclassified into 3 booking categories:

Standard view- parking lot or rooftops
Garden view- something green- trees or courtyard
Lagoon or Water view- lake or pool

I started up two View Threads in the Resort Photo Subforum:

Beach Club Room Views

Yacht Club Room Views

The purpose of these threads is to give some samples of rooms in various view categories at the Yacht and Beach Clubs.

Please note that we generally do not recommend that you request a particular room number for your stay at the resort, but instead let the room assigner know what is most important to you:

Full Balcony?
Close to Elevator?
Close to Lobby/Pool/Transportation?
Daybed?

If you request a particular room number, and that room is not available on the day you are checking in, the room assigner may not know the attributes of the room you want, so you may not get the room that best suits your needs.

How do I make a request on my reservation? How many requests should I make? What should I request?

You should note any requests on your reservation through Disney's CRO (Central Reservation Office) or your travel agent can add it when your trip is booked, or anytime thereafter. Requests should be made no later than 2 weeks before you will arrive at the resort.

Please remember that requests are not guaranteed.

The fewer requests you have, the more likely there will be a room available that meets your most important preference(s).

Your best bet is to request what you want in words, not room numbers. The chance that a particular room will be available during your trip is not as likely as finding a room that satisfies your room preferences. If you request a specific room, and there is someone staying in the room on the day you check in, the room assigner will have to place you in a different room. If they don't know what your priorities are, they will have trouble giving you another room that has the attributes you want.

When you arrive at the resort for checkin, you can ask before you take your keys if your requests were granted, and if not, see if there is anything available that meets your needs. Please note that you should do this through REGULAR checkin.

Online checkin is designed for grabbing your keys and going, no questions asked, so if there is a possibility you will ask for a room change, you shouldn't do this.

There may not be a room available with the request you made when you check in (e.g. full balcony, daybed, king bed). If your request is important enough that you are willing to change rooms later in the week, ask when a room will be available and see if you can arrange to switch rooms.

Requests vary because what is important to one family may be different for another family. Some popular requests are full balcony at the Beach Club, a day bed, close to lobby (or elevator or Stormalong Bay), close to Concierge Lounge (if you are staying club level) or close to EPCOT.

I bought Merrells a few years ago... didn't wear them much... took them out a few weeks ago and have been living in them!!! Very comfy!!
