Sudoku is such a great way to exercise the brain. Normally there are easy ones, intermediate ones and hard ones (if you’re somebody that solves the hard ones I :worship: to you). Some people enjoy solving them out of a puzzle book and others prefer solving them on an app on their device. Either way, you’re exercising your brain, which is a very good thing - we all need to do this regardless what age you are. Some of you may have heard of this puzzle, but don’t know much about it. If you’re one of those people, here’s a snip it about it…..

We have an 85 year old patient that loves to solve these puzzles. When he comes in, he always sits down and works on the one in the paper we have sitting out. He normally finishes it in about 10 minutes, and he uses a pen - he is someone I :worship: (the ones in the paper are sometimes kinda hard) Once in a rare while there’s one that takes him longer and we tell him to take it with him. Outside of this man, I don’t know to many people that work on Sudoku puzzles on a regular basis. How about you? Let’s figure out your answer today…….

Do you enjoy solving Sudoku puzzles?
If yes…..do you solve them on paper (book, paper, etc) or on an app?
Which level are you best at - easy, intermediate or hard?
(multiple choice)

For Me……I love love love working on Sudoku puzzles. It is my #1 go to thing to do on longer car drives. I actually take several different types of puzzles books with me on longer card rides - I enjoy them all. Sudoku is the one that makes the time go by so fast and I can still talk with my DH while we travel (I like to buy new ones before road trips. I’m like a little kid with a new coloring book, but for me it’s number and word puzzles) He knows though, that if there’s something I should look at to tell me, because when I’m looking at my puzzle book, I’m not looking outside. When I’m not on a road trip, I solve Sudoku puzzles once a week. I would love to sit here and say I’m great at all levels of Sudoku, but I’d be lying. I am good at the easy ones, just so so with the intermediate ones and not good at all at the hard ones. I must use a pencil, because I do a lot of erasing. The gentleman I spoke about above amazes me that he uses a pen. I wish I could do that, but there’s no way. That man is wayyyy…..smarter than me when it comes to solving these puzzles - I think it’s awesome!

I like word games. I do enough math at work, no interest in fiddling with number puzzles! However, DH is constantly doing Sudoku. He's even taught the LittleGuy how to do the puzzles. It's so cute, seeing the two of them with their heads together, filling in the squares!

I love Sudoku! I've got an app on my phone so that I can jump in and solve puzzles whenever I have some down time when I'm out and about running errands. the puzzles help me to relax if I'm getting a bit stressed also - because you have to stop thinking about what's stressing you and concentrate on the puzzle.
8-)

I don’t have any interest, but DH loves doing them. He has a book at home, plus one in each of our two campers. He kind of uses them as diaries as at the top of the page he will write the date he completed the puzzle and where we were, what we were doing that day, etc.

I don’t do them as often as I used to because I do more word puzzles. These are the first things I do when I get on an airplane. I do all levels.

Sudoku is one of my favorites. I do them on paper but more often now in an app since there isn't much of a daily newspaper. Everyone is afraid of it because it's numbers and thinking it's math, but there's no math involved. You could easily substitute letters A-I for the numbers.

I like lots of puzzles, sudoku included! I've played them on paper more, but have also used an app, and even a set with tiles that looked like Scrabble pieces. I haven't played any recently, so I'm not sure what level(s) I was successful at.

I love sudoku and do them frequently. (Also love word games.) I prefer to do sudoku on paper and use a pen. If I make a mistake, I just overwrite the number; after a few mistakes, I give up and I’m done. I do all different levels, and also sudoku X, which adds two diagonal lines that must follow the pattern to solve.

Yes, unfortunately this is a common misconception. No mathematical calculation required; the numbers are just place holders in a logic puzzle. I used to have a sudoku game (physical plastic box) that used 9 different colored tiles.

I used to do Samurai Sudoku all the time until my eyesight started getting bad. Now, I have a hard time with it because the squares are so much smaller than regular ones. I play regular sukoku on the app consonantly

I do that too! I always put the date & time that I finished the puzzle. I love the idea of also putting where I was when I finished it (haven't done THAT yet :-) )

that'll be my new procedure! LOL

I love this and I’m going to start doing this too.
Thank you for sharing this 🙂
