Tell me about these and water... the reviews on Amazon say they are dangerous if wet?!? I'm all about a flip flop and I know when they get wet they can be slippery, but are these really that dangerous??

~N

They definitely wouldn't be my first choice if I knew I was going to get wet. Honestly, they're not my first choice for lots of walking, either. Don't get me wrong - I'm wearing the now and LOVE them! But while they're great for running errands and shorter walks, I need more stability and support, and imagine my feet would move around a lot in them if they were wet.

Again, for good support and quick-drying ability, I gotta go with Keens.

As someone who ALWAYS wears flips; I have the Sanuk and they are TERRIBLE once wet... a soapy material seeps and squishes out and all of the cushioning is gone.:sad2: Of course this happened while walking around a theme park one day:crazy2: But...I did buy a second pair to wear only on sunny days ;) I couldn't recommend them for the parks, though.

I'm a Crocs girl and actually got my daughter to wear Crocs Sandals. She loves them. Princess Lily has the regular Crocs like her Nanny (me) and she loves them!

I knew you were my type of girl! :thumbsup2 I have over 70 pairs, that I wear for work and play. I only wear tennis shoes if I'm walking in dirt!

D'oh - nevermind. Forgot to build in DxDP - it's actually $1,000 more. :upsidedow

Even if we take out DxDP and just do Magic Your Way Plus Dining (for about $200 more), then use CL for breakfasts and some snacks, we'd still have to cut our TS meals or pay out of pocket for those. Don't think it's worth it.

Right? :)
I didn't use the DDP last August staying CL at AKL. We had breakfast in lounge, TS at lunch, then Appies in the lounge at night, and desserts. This was plenty of food for us. We figured if we were still hungry we could go to the CS downstairs to grab something, but we never did. The Appies filled us up.
When we stayed at BC we were on the DDP, and never really got to try the evening Appies cause I kne I wouldn't eat my dinner. Which is why we didn't have DDP at AKL.

Ok, so I'm off topic :goodvibes but does anyone know if we can use noodles in the lazy rivers at the WPs?

I always thought not, but last August we saw small kiddie size foam noodles, kinda odd rectangular shaped ones floating in the river at BB.

I'd much rather float on a noodle where I can be submerged in the hot August heat rather then sitting on top of a ring. And hard to get onto!! The rings :p

We always buy noodles for August. This year I've seen those inflatable noodles made by Intex I'm going to try! Will be great for SAB. And would be wonderful if we can bring them to the WP too. And the bobbing pool at BB. I know there's no way they'd let then in the TL pool! But I have hopes for the lazy rivers!

Mickey T you are so right about Teena! She is the epitome of Disney and BC. Much like Ranger Stan was at WL.

Bump :goodvibes. Anyone know?

In a our visits, we have never visited a water park!! Wish I could help u with the noodles, but no can do!!!

I wouldn't mind fitting one day in this July, but then I'd have to decide Which Water Park!!!!

I'm with Jeanne - I LOVE my Crocs sandals. I have four pair and wear them all the time in the summer. I never wear sneakers at Disney - I wear the crocs sandals all the time in the parks.

Good morning Beach Club friends,

I think the realization of our trip has finally hit me! We will be checking in two weeks from yesterday! Can't wait!:cheer2:
Can't wait to experience SAB and Beaches and Cream. Teena, so excited to meet you as well. I don't post a whole bunch on this thread, but I've enjoyed reading your posts for years. And Robyn, we'll be club level at the same time. I think I will know you from the pics I've seen.

Please be sure to say hi!
We are in the lounge most morning for breakfast, usually there for evening appetizers and I have to stop in the lounge on the way back from the parks to get my fill of the homemade chips and dip!

Aren't you going to be at the Dessert Party on July 3 too? Definitely come say hi - Teena will be with us so I know you'll recognize her (our resident celebrity)!

I have gotten them wet at Hershey Park and like someone else said, they got kind of foamy stuff that squished out:confused3
But that only happened that one time for me. I think any flip flops can be a bit tricky when wet...but maybe that's just me:rotfl2:

I literally wear these everyday rain or shine and have had no problems. I find them plenty supportive...I have other non-flip flop Sanuks and wore them walking 45 miles in San Francisco last year...I just keep buying more b/c I love them!

I also love Reefs which are more structured but also "ridiculously comfortable" which is their tagline. They have a bunch of styles and last forever:thumbsup2

Good luck! Good, cute and comfy shoes are hard to fine...esp for walking Disney!!!

For all you that know Jeanne, wanted to let you know she is in recovery and should be home in about 3 hours. We'll get all the pathology results in about a week or so they said. Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes.

I don't know how I missed this but I will definitely keep Jeanne and you and Bob in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Regarding the flip flops, I also hate wearing sneakers in the summer, and have a lowish arch and widish foot, so need support. I can't do flip flops every day at WDW though, I find it's best to switch out and usually do the flip flops on a planned shorter day or around the resort.
I had some Speedo sport thongs I loved, they have the thicker, cushier, sneaker-type soles like this:

Not a crocs girl but I did like the flip flops that were entirely made of the molded material - Athens, I think? The ones with the cloth straps rubbed me. Don't know about these, but think they are very cute:

The best for me so far for all-day wear are Teva Westwaters sandals, and I think they are also very cute: but I am now very sad because I went to find a link and I guess they don't make them anymore. So many of those sport sandals are ugly, but these would have even gone with a casual skirt.
I've also got some Clarks Privos which do very well but are very ugly.

I work in a hospital and despite that I still HATE crocs, but my croc sandals are probably the best things I've ever bought and they weren't that expensive! Mine are similar in style to the ones above but without the wedge. I only wore my flip flops when it was wet/rainy so I didn't get my socks wet/get blisters and they were perfect. Didn't slip or skid or anything when it was wet out!

In regard to what type of shoes...

Reef flip flops are awesome. I just tried them this summer and love them, although I have not done Disney in them. Typically I wear Abercrombie & Fitch rubber or leather flip flops to WDW and make out great. I will also wear Toms or Sperrys if not super hot. Sperry also makes flip flops, but haven't tried them in disney yet. Good luck!!

I just picked up a pair of Reefs from Costco. Starting to wear them to see how comfy they will be in wdw. I usually wear Soles and Birks. Teva too.
