2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

I've been lurking for years, but finally decided to post.

First, thanks so much for all you guys do to make this an addictive and truly informative page.

Second, thanks to Teena for really caring and helping us with all her wisdom.

Third, we are visiting BC 6/17-6/22: DH, DW, DS3, twin DDs7 please add us to the be our guest page.

Fourth, anyone who overlaps with us want to share the Illuminations Cruise? Best nights for us would be 6-17, 6-18, or 6-19.

Thanks Again!

Welcome!! :cool1:

Glad you came out of Lurkdom to join us.

Hi all!,

Hoping you great people can advise a newbie :)

We will be staying at the YC for our very first stay onsite in September. I'm really excited about it

We are booked in a garden view room ( Not CL) and will be driving. I'm also not planning to do online checkin, in case I want to request a room change.

I was just wondering what happens when you pull up to the entrance? I read somewhere that you have to stop at the entry gate?

We don't want to use valet parking, I'm assuming it will be OK to pull up at the door and unload bags, then DS and I can wait for DH to park the car? Is that right?

Also another quick question about rooms, I haven't done a request yet but I'm hoping to minimise our walk to the BC marketplace. Would our best choice be to request a room near the lobby?

TIA!

Andona

Welcome to the thread!! You will LOVE the resort. what a great First Onsite visit this will be

Dee - Of course Flat Dee makes the rest of us look even heavier!!!!!
One day "real Dee" is going to show up. I can't wait!

Off topic - I finally made our family watch the first Harry Potter movie since we're venturing over to the dark side for a few days before Disney. One of my older sons is a huge HP fan - now I can see why. Hoping to watch most of them (if not all) before we leave. Now at least we won't seem like idiots in the HP section of Universal!!!!

I DO need to make it to one of the meets for real!!!

So glad to have another Potterhead (Griffyndork) in our midst! You will definitely appreciate the details in WWoHP more if you watch the movies, at least through the 4th movie.

Well, I did it!!! Just upgraded! :cool1: DH and I talked about it and the more we talked the more we realized we would love it! Especially that we want this to be a more relaxed trip with more hotel time. Thank you for all of your help! And I am enjoying your trip report too! :thumbsup2
Carla

Congrats!

Dee -- Just curious . . . is this your only WDW trip this year or will you be going with your family later in the year, too?

Right now, we don't have anything booked. DH priced out trips on Sunday, but we didn't find anything that would work for us. We may look last minute at the end of August, but I don't know.

:sad2:

Wooohoooo just booked our flights for our September trip  : banana:
Also booked one night at AoA Little Mermaid room, we decided to come a day early since most of the flights didn't arrive till later in the day. Bonus is that now we have a non-stop flight !!!

Dee could you change the Be Our Guest list from the BCV to BC garden view for us. I also want to thank you for this thread, every morning this is the first thing I go to :thumbsup2

Everyone with up coming trips have a Magical time

Will do!!!

Can't wait to hear what you think of AoA. It looks amazing!

This is so funny, and all-too-familiar! :rotfl2:

I can do online check-in tomorrow!! I can't believe it! A question: My sister is arriving a few hours before me. When I do online check-in, will I have to print out something to show? If so, will she need a copy of it, since she'll be arriving before me? Also, since she's getting there first, should she just tell them hold on the my KTTW card, so I can pick it up when I arrive, or will they automatically give it to whoever checks in first? I've never arrived at WDW separately from the rest of my party before, so I don't know what to expect... Thanks!

BUMP!

OK, wait a minute here....I just saw on another thread that they are changing (or have changed) the toiletries in the rooms??? Is this true? Sorry if this is old news, but I LOVE the Aquatics products! Bought a bunch in the gift shop in March to take home with me so I can feel like I'm at the Beach Club all the time! Anyone? :confused3

Any chance the Cape May rehab will be done a week early? We will be at the BC from July 26th to August 3rd (may we be listed on the schedule of visitors?).

There's always a chance... It might be worth posting a week or two before your trip to see if we can get info on an actual opening date.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on page 1. Do you want to specify your dates?

:cheer2:

I agree with others- you should request "Close to Beach Club lobby, please"

Teena- any idea if that would be confusing to a room assignor at the Yacht Club, or is there another way to word it (like close to EPCOT).

Wait! What???

There are a few folks there right now who are checking in during there trips, and a few more who are travelling next week-

Can you give us a toiletries report, please!

Pictures, upon your return, would also be appreciated.

If you are staying at the YC and want to make the walk short to the BC then you simply want to be close to the YC lobby .... so just say "close to lobby" as your request.

Thanks to everyone for the info and room help.:)

We will be there from Sept. 18 to 20. Only a short stay at the YC this trip but I plan to make the most of it! :cool1:

I work Sunday and Monday in the BC lobby (9:30 AM to 5:45 PM). If I'm not in the lobby, I'm on a break. Most of the people on the desk are new and probably don't even know who I am. If anybody is looking for me and wants ACCURATE information, ask to speak to one of the managers in the lobby or at the front desk.

Phooey! Looks like we missed u :(

PLEEEEEEEASE say this isn't true!!!We love the H2O products too!

Like you, WDW4us2006, I just stocked up on the shampoo and shower gel for my boys (they sell H2O at Macys). They love to take showers now, since the smell reminds them of Disney!:rotfl:

Here is a link to the thread on the Resorts board regarding the toiletry switchover.....With pics! I am nervous because I love the lotion, and I dont see any mention of the lotions.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2929495

There was a pic of the lotion and the shower gel, but then several in the thread mention that they didn't have shower gel, so I'm not sure what's up with that.

Maybe this is why folks were having a hard time getting products replaced--they are running out and didn't have the new. :rotfl:

Anyway, I used the old stuff, but was never a huge fan of it--I much prefer the line that they have on DCL to those in the resorts. I'll be there in a week and half, so if BCV has switched over, I guess I'll know what I think at that point!

They didn't have that new line of toiletries when I was at BC in the beginning of May. I brought home a bottle of lotion and a bottle of shampoo (had no conditioner when I checked out, plus I could barely get the conditioner out of the bottle anyway! Had to scoop with my pinky!) and it was the Aquatics stuff. I have the lotion on today! :lmao:

Can someone tell me the BC Marketplace hours? Specifically when it closes at night.

sorry Dee, I did look on page one first, but didn't see it mentioned.

For those of you that are returning from your trips.....Have any of you posted your recent BC trip over in the Trip Report thread lately? It's raining and crappy here in MA and I really want to immerse myself into the Beach Club and I love me some extensive disney details...... post a link if you can!

Thanks!:yay:

sorry Dee, I did look on page one first, but didn't see it mentioned.

You're right, I had to dig a little bit to find the info.

According to pictures of signs in the BC Marketplace, it looks like it is open from 6 am to 7 am for coffee and drink refills only, 7 am to 11 am for breakfast and 11 am to 11 pm for lunch/dinner entrees.

If anyone has experienced different hours, please let me know.
