Hi Everyone,
All these wonderful pictures and talk has made me want to book another trip to BCV for next year. Our last trip was last September but since my daughter is getting married in 6 weeks, we won't be able to go to Disney until next year.

We love to stay at BCV. Does anyone know how far out you can book a reservation at BCV if you you're not DVC member? We've stayed there the last 2 years but I can't seem to remember how far out you can book.

Thanks for your help.

We are here and were upgraded to a 2 bdrm suite

That is FAB! Did you put in a room request? I have this theory that they pick to upgrade folks who have not put in a room request.

OKAY...just read the rest of the 10 pages...Teena - man, what a bummer, nothing worse than looking forward to a vacation and having to cancel, but I'm glad you were able to reshuffle your dates.

To the new reviews and pics - awesome, keep them coming. It was great to see a pic of the grab n go items!

Teena, sending lots of get well pixie dust your way from California! pixiedust:

Your post reminded me that you're just down the road from Newport Beach! I think I mentioned this before, but I've spent 1-2 weeks of every summer (and a couple fall weekends) in Newport since childhood. (Unfortunately, I missed one summer when my doctor would not allow it - I was 8 months pregnant with our first child.) So we're skipping this year because my parents are heading to Germany/Italy, and my family is trying a cruise on the Disney Dream. Hope you're enjoying a beautiful summer there!

Changed our dates for our anniversary mini vacation. We now arrive at the Beach Club on September 13th for 3 nights. Even got my dining changed over without a problem.

Still waiting for the specialist to call back. They have the cat scan and are looking at the reports. The nurse there said she thinks it's too big for sonor blast too ... probably surgery. I'll keep you all posted.

So happy to hear that you were able to reschedule! More healing thoughts and prayers from all of us to you! Take care!

Teena, I'm so sorry to hear about the stones, I hope they're able to take care of it without surgery.... and if nothing else, you are out of pain very soon.

Yes I will be posting my review of the Beach Club.

Also last August was my first time staying at the Boardwalk Inn and I became a fan of it right away. Plus since then I stayed there in December 2010 and will be staying there for the third time later this month. So who knows the same thing might happen with the Beach Club.

I'll be excited to see your review and compare notes! We're BC vets and BWI newbies, so it will be fun to see how the two resorts compare. We'll be at BWI CL during your BWI stay (August 23-25), then on the 3-night Dream, and then BC CL (August 28-29.)

So excited!! We have a trip booked for over Easter. It may be crowded but at least it won't be snowing! We've had snow on many an Easter around here.:thumbsup2

I would think you could reserve like any other resort. At least through end of next year. You book at rack rates and then convert if any deals come out. Another option is renting DVC points. Haven't done it but there are companies that do this as a business (google-- rent dvc points--) Good luck!

Found a link on renting points and booking DVC ..

Teena, hope you're feeling better soon! :flower3: Sending some healing thoughts and good wishes your way! Your new vacation dates will be right in the middle of my vacation, so hopefully I will finally get to meet you this year....maybe at SAB instead of the lobby! :cool2: :sunny:

Teena, you certainly have been through the wringer. Feel better soon.

Well maybe we will see each other in the lounge at the BWI.

It's a date!

First let me say what a wonderful thread with a TONS of useful knowledge for our first trip to Disney in October. Thank you. We are so excited to be spending our first trip (yes, I'm already starting to think about a 2nd) at BC! I just have a couple of questions....

1. I saw the question about the fins in the pool earlier. Does anyone know if swim vests are allowed?

2. What kind of quick service options are there for gluten free for breakfast? Fruit cups, yogurt, any dried cereals? We have made several reservations for everything but breakfast.

3. Is there any chance of having any walk-ins in the restaurants on property in the evening or for breakfast? Since it is our first time I don't want to overload with the eating and would like to leave some options open!

Thanks so much for your help.

If you are not able to get any ADR's for a restaurant and still want to eat there, some Cast Members have told me it's best to be there when they open and you might have a chance of getting a table.

When you say swim vest do you mean something like a life jacket? My kids actually borrowed yellow life vests from the BC and used them in the pool and also on the big pirate slide. Those were the only flotation type devices they would allow on the slide...the kids even had to remove their swim shoes.

I know the BC Marketplace had several options for allergies. They had fruit cups, the pre packaged yogurt had granola and nuts but I am sure they could accommodate a plain yogurt request. I heard the CMs many times tell people to talk to the food service people and they would be able to get them what they needed.

Talking strictly about dining at the BC - Beaches and Cream does not take advance reservations so they are first come first serve every night.

I am new to this thread. We will be staying at BC for the first time in July 2012. Stayed at AKL, POR, Poly, BWI before.

Teena, you sound like a wonderful person. I will be praying for you as well. There is nothing like the power of prayer.:littleangel:
Thanks to all for such a fantastic thread.:cheer2:

Teena :grouphug: So sorry to hear about the latest development. Guess you're feeling like it will never end. Hope the blasting works!

I think you said by the 27th you'll be away helping Jeannie and I'm sorry to miss you. but I check into POR on 8/20 so I'm going to try to get to BC hopefully to meet you during POR stay on an Epcot day :)

We leave tomorrow for Florida :banana::banana: 2+ weeks in other parts, then 13 nights in WDW, Yay!
I'm so over packed

Yep, if all goes according to plan and I don't develop some other strange ailment, I should be working August 21 and 22. I have a flight scheduled to go to Jeanne's on 8/23.

As far as restaurant walk ins I will relay my experience. Your mileage may vary...

Due to a Looong flight delay we did not get to the hotel until 6 pm in the evening. We blew our ADR at DHS and at about 7:30 pm we went down to the lobby and asked if they could accommodate us at Cape May buffet. As luck would have it they could.

Keep in mind that this is an all you can eat buffet and some people are turtles and some people are rabbits when it comes to this kind of thing. With the crab legs people tend to be slower since it's crack, pick, crack, pick, crack, pick, crackpick, crackpick, crackpick, crackpick, get up get another pair of legs and crackpick, crackpick, crackpick....... If people are taking forever there is less table availability and longer waits, even for people who have ADR's.

So... The bottom line may very well be that.... it depends. We felt very lucky to be accommodated. I have to wonder if you could do a walk up during something like the free dining promotion that is coming up. Personally I would not feel comfortable leaving too many meals up to chance with out an ADR in place.

A place that I absolutely love is the Captains Grille in the Yacht Club. We dropped in without ADR's for lunch and we had no problem. The food and service were fantastic whether we were there for breakfast or lunch. The times that we went, there were not a lot of people in the restaurant, so I think you will not have as much of a problem doing an walk in there as opposed to Cape May Buffet with it's 'all you can eat' allure. Every time we walked past Cape May for breakfast or dinner it was mobbed! (no lunch at Cape May).

So if you have to do a walk up, try for Cape May if you want, but I think the Captain's Grille is the best kept secret in Beach Club/Yacht Club dining. Check out the menus for the restaurants on the allears site and decide for yourself.
