I'm so sorry to hear of your set-back, Teena. May you soon be on the road to recovery and enjoying your well-deserved time in the sun.

On another note, does anyone know if swim fins and/or snorkels are allowed for children at SAB?

Thanks, and be well, Teena.

Anyone know the answer on this? Swim goggles are allowed, and masks are probably ok.

I don't know about snorkels or fins. I would ask someone who is going soon to check for you, but YOU are going SOON so that doesn't help.

Could you check for us and report back, though?

Have a great trip!

Saw someone walk through the lobby ... whole family ... all with snorkels, fins, the whole gear. Since you are not allowed to go in the lake, I assume they went to SAB. Not sure if they were allowed to use them but they had everything.

Thanks for all the well wishes. The mini vacation is going to have to be cancelled per doctor's orders. We hope to reschedule for later in August before I head off to help Jeanne or sometime in September.

The meds they gave me help the pain but when they wear off, wow, the pain is getting worse.

Hurry up 2012!!

Ouch!!! Teena feel better fast!!! BC will be there when you feel better and you will want to feel better for your upcoming trip to see Lily and Jeanne, so get those stones taken care of quickly and get back to feeling better fast!!

Oh Teena, hope you get to feeling better real soon!

Once I had a teeny tiny kidney stone and it was horrible pain. I can't imagine what you are going thru.

P.S. Just went back and saw the pics from your shower. Fantastic! Looks like it was a whole lot of fun!!

Does anyone know SAB hours for the week of Nov 19-26th?
We're coming from Buffalo, so cool temps won't bother us!:goodvibes

Lots of conflicting information about opening times and particularly closing times at SAB, even when the dates are closer than yours. Here is a post from the page 1 FAQ section:

Can you tell me the hours for Stormalong Bay pool?

I'm sorry! I can't!

I don't know what time SAB opens or if it changes at different times throughout the year. The closing time at night definitely varies throughout the year and is based on things like crowd level, weather, etc. The front desk may have one closing time that they give to guests, but the lifeguards may keep the pool open longer if conditions warrant it.

Sorry it is so hard to answer this question! I don't think the resort posts the time on the activities sheet you get when you check in because the times are subject to change.

The best thing to do is ask the lifeguards when you are there.

So sorry to hear this - how disappointing for you. Hopefully, the doctors can get you well soon, so that you can have your mini vacation. Sounds like your little Lily came into your life at the perfect time. Maybe the excitement helped with your pain? And she is one big bright spot in a tough year for you. Sending best wishes that you are pain-free soon.

Thanks, and be well, Teena.

Last time we were there I saw a lifeguard tell a kid with fins to remove them. We were in the sandy pool, so I don't know if it's a rule for only that area or if it's SAB-wide.

P.S. I hope you feel better soon, Teena! :goodvibes

Yes - I'll be sure to report back just as soon as we return.
Thanks to all of you for all the help and advice you've provided!

Pixie dust for Teenapixiedust:

If their is any cancellations for the noodle swap we would love to be on the waiting list to host. Our dates are August 11-14.

Changed our dates for our anniversary mini vacation. We now arrive at the Beach Club on September 13th for 3 nights. Even got my dining changed over without a problem.

Still waiting for the specialist to call back. They have the cat scan and are looking at the reports. The nurse there said she thinks it's too big for sonor blast too ... probably surgery. I'll keep you all posted.

I'm glad to hear you have new dates for the Beach Club and that your dining was not lost! Same meals, same order? Mike and I will make the change on our lists on the front pages.

You can still go out in the sun this week, though, right?

Good luck with your results.

Teena, so sorry you had to postpone, but hopefully you will feel better soon and actually be able to ENJOY your vacation.

I am actually really interested to know how someone whose screen name is "CRFan4Life" is gonna like BC! I hope that you post and tell us right away!! :)

I officially can be in the sun as of today. It's raining right now. Figures. Still waiting for the specialist to call back. More pain pills and spinning rooms. Man those things are strong.

Can I also add some more positive thoughts for you Teena, seems like you keep having tough things to face, thank goodness for baby Lilly whose birth will be the thing you will remember most from 2011.

We are leaving tomorrow to spend the night at the airport before flying from London on Weds. We are spending 5 nights at the Poly, one week in a villa, 2 nights at the Hard Rock Hotel and then 2 nights on Treasure Island Beach before saving the best for last and moving to the BC for our last 4 days on the 18th. If anyone has any missions, photography or research for the BC or any of our other destinations then please let me know...

Yes I will be posting my review of the Beach Club.

Also last August was my first time staying at the Boardwalk Inn and I became a fan of it right away. Plus since then I stayed there in December 2010 and will be staying there for the third time later this month. So who knows the same thing might happen with the Beach Club.
