We are leaving in 9 days for the Beach Club & I was wondering if they have towels for the guests at the pools. This is our first time at B.C. & Disney.

Very excited!

Thanks

Yes, towels are provided at the pools. Have a fantastic trip! :cheer2:

Woo-hoo on being in single digits!

Yes, there are pool towels available at the pool where you enter and your room key is checked. There is also a container for the wet, used towels.

No need to bring your own or use room towels.

Ok. #1 Reaction: THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED?!?!?!

#2: Brain explodes.

#3: Does the guy on the right know his helmet is on backwards? That cannot be safe.:lmao:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Good eye! I guess he IS only protecting his head from a noodle. :lmao:

I'm heading to Google Earth to look at the secret entrance...

Those two outside pillars that mark the path to the "secret" (lol) entrance are right after the humpy bridge that crosses over to the Boardwalk side

Copy paste these coordinates: 28°22'11.59" N 81°33'17.96" W to the search bar in Google earth and you'll get a birds eye view of exactly where these gates are in relation to the resort and the International gate. If you zoom in some more you will see two white squares which are the pillars leading to this path.

This is at the very corner of the Beach Club resort that is closest to the International gate. Look for the end that the rectangular-ish quiet pool is on and you've got it!

It doesn't get any more "where exactly is that?" than Google Earth!

LOL I love that you have coordinates!!

A great big HAVE FUN to all those who are leaving in a day or so!!!!:banana:

no wonder its been going on all year. And then I saw the photo...at least they are humorous about their jobs I guess.

Sorry you had such a bummer of a time with the construction.
I didnt have a bummer of a time cause i was in the villas, just felt bad for the lagoon view guests
i know that they are moving to the YC, thats why I cancelled that room for next month and moved it to the beach club hoping they would be gone by then. I hope these new reports are good

You forgot about the part where the workers took breaks by gettng into congo lines and singing under the sea while having sword fights with the noodle family (perish the thought!). Sorry you had such a bummer of a time with the construction. However, the reports have been better lately. Go back and look at some of the recent trip reports and you will see that the workers have gotten their act together and are unobtrusive and not as obnoxious as you may have experienced. Have a great trip!

By the way, they move to the YC once they finish with the BC.

anyone have an update on the construction status at the Beach Club. Was there in April and it was a terrible mess with reports of people with construction workers working on their balcony as they sat in their room. This construction
permit has to have been the worst obstructive Disney construction event ever done at a resort. There were cranes everywhere, near pools, the back entrance off the lagoon, it was a mess, so for our october trip I booked the Yacht CLub Lagoon View room on a bounceback. Then a month later, say in June I heard that they were finishing up at the Beach Club and were going to move to the Yacht CLub next, so in an effort to avoid this fiasco I switched this reservation to a Beach Club Lagoon/water view and now I am hearing that they are still, what sounds like, working on the Beach Club and arent going anywhere anytime soon.
What is the deal with this mess, has it at least become more organized? are they almost done with the Beach Club?
Normally Dis has done a awesome job at covering up or working on small sections at a time but in april, things were friggin everywhere it was pretty sickly looking, and to boot none of these poor guests with lagoon view rooms knew it was coming or what was happening and they just had to suck and deal with it. oh gawd, please be gone from the beach club by the middle of October. Its been since like December 2010...
Alright, fingers crossed

Just got back yesterday....had a wonderful stay at the BC....love everything about the resort...SAB....the best....as far as the construction....since we were traveling with our 2 grandchildren age 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 it was a problem for us...the little ones needed naps in the afternoon and on the 2nd day the workmen were on their balcony sanding....so noisy for the Grandkids...if we had just been adults we would have mananged...my DS1 called front desk and they moved our rooms with no problem....very nice of them, I thought...

Does anyone know if construction has moved to the YC yet?

For the people that were at the BC during construction, could you sit out on your balcony or were you 'eye to eye' with a construction worker? How was the noise?

We have a water view, I like to sit out in the morning in my bathrobe and have my coffee before I start the day.

Thanks for the info. We are very excited for this trip. We've never been to WDW & our children have never been on a plane. So looks like no sleep the night before.

:dance3:

Beach Club, Yacht Club and Beach Club Villas are my dream resorts :cloud9: I am planning on renting points for a studio next August at the Beach Club Villas :dance3: Just have to find someone who has the Beach Club Villas as their home resort with points to rent :cool1: Or I have to wait until 7 months out in January :lmao: I am going down for a long weekend in two weeks to celebrate Disney's 40th Anniversary party: and will be going to visit the Villas :yay: Are there 3 separate lobbies for each resort? Do you think I could ask to be shown one of the rooms :rolleyes1 Love this thread :lovestruc Thanks for doing such a super job :thanks:

Has anyone stayed in room 1501? I would think that may be the nosiest room location.;)

Ahhhh....But so close to Epcot. The closest room in all of WDW. :) (You know us Y&BC dissers. Always the bright side!)

Are there 3 separate lobbies for each resort? Do you think I could ask to be shown one of the rooms :rolleyes1 Love this thread :lovestruc Thanks for doing such a super job :thanks:

There are 3 'lobbies'. Yacht and Beach have true lobbies with check in, bell and concierge desk. The Villas are more like sitting rooms. Non attended.

If you liked the mental image, you will LOVE the actual photos-

Here are the construction workers enjoying a noodle fight:

:lmao: and I thought it was a joke!! Too funny!

Still coming to you live from BC! Yesterday we were at rope drop for HS. DH was the TSM fastpass runner. 1st FP was for 10:10! Woo hoo! Got a 2nd FP when we used that one for 1:50. HS was pretty empty....walked on RnRC early.....DD8 finally overcame her fear of going upside down! Picked up a red velvet cheesecake cupcake at Starring Rolls Cafe (that was breakfast this am....yummy!). Had lunch at 50s Prime Time.....fried chicken and Boston cream parfait were very good! We all had our Perry/Agent P shirts on, so of course we had to do the Phineas and Ferb meet and greet. More SAB time late afternoon....had a little sprinkle of rain while at the pool.....not even enough to cool you off. Dinner was flatbread pizzas from the Marketplace and teriyaki chicken from the counter service in Japan (temporarily located in th kiosk used for the food & wine fest. Marketplace pzza was ok...kids liked it.

Today was AK....quick day planned.....Safari, Festival of the Lion King, Dinosaur, Triceratops Spin for DS3, EE, Kali rapids, and tough to be a bug complete by 12:30! EE is DD8's favorite ride so far (and I think mine too). Had a little SAB time afterwards.....ran into Teena and Bob by the pool. Dinner was at Biergarten tonight......food was great and kids loved the entertainment. They just had to go dance! Did Soarin' after dinner and then took DS3 to see turtle talk with crush while DD8. And DH did Mission Space. Kids are exhausted....and ao am I! One more day to go :(

Morning everyone....

I have been MIA for most of the summer, we had some work things...UGHH, a death in the family and then our cruise, with an Earthquake, hurricane and flooding, but I am back now.

We have 17 days until we are at BC, and I am so excited, I can't wait for a little fun, relaxation, and F&WF with friends....

Hope everyone has a great day.

:wave2:

Sorry for your loss, but hope you have an amazing time at BC! Seems hard to believe we just left BC 15 days ago :sad1: Having withdrawals now!

No he had Ewing's sarcoma (childhood bone cancer). He had a year of chemo and had his leg amputated. He never, ever let any of this get him down. In fact he even played football for his high school! He was 3 when he was diagnosed. He is now 27! He finished college and has a good job, in fact he still goes back to CHOP to talk to kids who have to undergo amputations.

I put the tastycakes in the frig in the room as soon as we get there. My family knows NO TOUCHING TEENA'S CUPCAKES!!!!

It sounds like your son is amazing. My son had leukemia...3 1/2 years of chemo and radiation. He was a patient at CHOP also. I loved his oncologist. She retired 2 years ago.

I believe the walls are insulated with unused phone books so it's super quiet. I could be wrong though.....
