Got my mickey mail today - woo hoo!!!! :woohoo: I love the new luggage tags!!! Can't wait to start packing now!

Teena - so sorry to hear that your treatment isn't simpler - wishing you a speedy recovery!!!:flower3:

Just got home from specialist.

I need 2-3 surgeries over next 2-3 weeks. First may be tomorrow. Real surgeries ... general anesthesia .. the works.

Needless to say, I'm very upset.

Bob liked doctor.

We then got EKG, blood work and x-rays at hospital. It went well.

My Vegas trip to help Jeanne may not be able to happen.

Teena---Sending healing thoughts and prayers your way! I hope the surgeries go smoothly and that you need fewer procedures than what the doctor expects. And I expect to see you at SAB in September! :cool2:

Arriving in 17 days at the YC! My dream resort for hubby's B-I-G 4-0!!!! From the look of the August list I will be in great company as lots of us Disboarders are going :)

I wonder about FD (yes I booked it) but I have booked some deal or another every year for the past 4 which has made the price of my trip even to FD. Not everyone in the world got the deal so who really knows about the food.... I will be back on 29th to tell you :)

Teena, I have not had the pleasure of meeting you but I see your face and the great advice you bring to us all here on the boards. May you carry the grace of good will from us all with you and here is hoping that you your recovery is swift x

I have a question about the rollaway request. I originally put in a request for a room with daybed, so that my DS and DD would not have to sleep in the same bed. Hwoever, I think that I want to "save" my room request for a location request. If so, can I call for a rollaway once we are checked in? Has anyone done this? Was there a charge?

Also, I'm booked in garden view, but don't want to face the Swolphin - would rather face another YC room. How do I put that request? Basially, I want to be on the gazebo/SAB/water side. There are fewer garden view rooms on that side than facing the Swolphin, but there are a few. Anyone know how to phrase this so the computerized room assigner recognizes it?

Ask for room face wedding gazebo. When on balcony and you look to right or left depending on your room you will see a nice view of the lagoon (sideways one). Gazebo is pretty big like a U shape so asking just for that shoudl be easy to fill

Teena wishing you the best of luck with your surgery. Hope you have a speedy recovery

Teena, here's wishing you good luck with the procedures that you are having, this is probably going to be easier than what you've already gone through.

I too have had surgery for kidney stones and it wasn't that bad- little cuts like they did for my gallbladder- pain for a couple of days- but by the sound of it you've already been in pain from the stones.

Things will get better and you have little Lilly to think about now. Maybe you will still be able to help Jeanne a little with getting her class ready for school. Think positive thoughts and a better rest of the year- you have Lilly's first Christmas to enjoy.

Good Afternoon:
I just wanted to report my experience with ordering Pizza from room service in Sept 2010 from the YC. As you stated above, the brochure would lead you to believe that you only had to redeem 2 table service credits for 1 Pizza, 2 Drinks and 2 Desserts. But when I ordered my Pizza (+drinks & dessert) I was told that I had to redeem 4 table service credits (2 per adult, the redeemption for regular room service for 2 Adults). I quoted the brochure to the CM. I was told that the 2 Table Service redeemption applied to the Values (not sure it he said Moderates also). I was told that the Pizza at the Deluxes were much larger. The manager, more or less, told me that the brochure was unclear and that the statement only applied to the Values, who have dedicated pizza delivery service. He stated that it was not my fault and gave me the order for 2 table service credits "this time only".

Just wanted to pass this along when I read the information regarding the Pizza.

The pizza is terrible anyway ... not even close to anything i would ever want to eat.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers... think Lily and no more pain!!

Feel better soon!

Best to the very kind and generous Teena (who shares her knowledge and time with so many for so little) and her beautiful new granddaughter. Hope 'Nanny' is up and running again with 'Pop Pop' very soon!!!

Good to hear your experiences ... he said the tube they are putting in is very uncomfortable and it will be in there 1-2 weeks, depending on other stuff they can or cannot do tomorrow. I asked about work and he said I probably wouldn't want to because of the feeling of the tube. Of course, he doesn't know me ... I was in work four days after my breast surgery. I'm really hoping I'll still be able to fly out to help Jeanne!!!

Disney's Beach Club Resort is a hidden gem in Walt Disney World! I must say, when I booked this resort for our family of five for a week, I was not sure if I was going to like it. I live in the northeast, so staying at a beach club resembling Cape May or Martha's Vineyard was a vacation spot my family would enjoy on weekends, not something I would pay $$$$ and drive 18 hours to reach! I wondered how this resort would compare with the magic disney offers at their other resorts. Well...
It was not love at first sight but a very subtle to an exploding, wishes fireworks, kind of love...
When we arrived the gateman asked our name and was very kind when he said welcome home:) When we pulled in front to unload our luggage and check in, Samantha greeted us by using our family name and walked me inside to the front desk, I held back tears, (This trip we had a garden view room however I have stayed concierge level at other WDW resorts and we were never greeted like this.) It went down hill from there yet I can not blame the cast members at the BC but the misinformation I was given from the call center when the reservation was made. To make a long story short, we added a day to the beginning of our trip, so this gave us two separate reservations which in turn we had to switch rooms on our second day. Forgive me, but I can not remember her name but she works at the front desk and has dark skin with dark medium length hair and she was AWESOME!!!!!!! She searched and searched the rooms at BC, made calls but the resort was at full capacity and could not get us into a room we didn't have to move from. She said to see her in the morning, she arrives at 8:00a.m. and I will not be disappointed. That night I called over to the Polynesian to check availability and was all set to leave BC for the remainder of our trip in the morning. We couldn't unpack anyway and I was reluctant about this resort from the beginning.
Morning came and I said, lets give BC one more try today... it was the best decision I made all trip. Dark haired girl gave us the most fabulous room, ground level just a few steps away from Epcot AND it was ready by noon! Thank you, thank you, thank you dark haired girl! Our room was fabulous, spotless and whatever we requested from housekeeping we were given.
Throughout our stay our teenage boys enjoyed the fitness club and the pool area and Cape May Cafe (best mac and cheese in the world) for dinner, beaches and cream for milkshakes and sundays and the pool area restaurant for burgers and hotdogs. Everything from food quality to service was exceptional! The restrooms by the pool area are spotless and the waitstaff is great when you don't want to get up from your lounge chair. Everyday we had a different question for concierge and everyday we had someone different who answered our questions so pleasantly without making us feel we were a bother... (you know the song, "Be Our Guest" ?? this must be their motto/philosophy.)
I can not put into words how grateful I am for the service we received when we stayed at the Beach Club. From the cast members, to the spotless rooms, to the most amazing "pool day" at a resort I ever had in WDW, Thank You! Me and my husband are the average american family who both work two jobs to be able to afford a vacation and now they have spoiled us so much I don't think I can ever stay anywhere else. This resort is amazing! I was so wrong in thinking this resort could not offer the magic compared to other WDW resorts. Its not a WOW in your face kind of magic but its found in the cast members, the scent in the lobby and the overall character of the resort whom I think actually has a soul but you have to stay here to understand it.

Teena--Thoughts and prayers that everything goes smoothly tomorrow!

Remy--Your post made me kind of misty (ok, it has been a long day and I am emotional for whatever reason) and I am now thinking I made the biggest Disney mistake in switching our reservations. I am so glad your trip turned out to be so magical!

THanks Remy! That was worded so great. It is EXACTLY how I feel at YC! Not in your face Disney but just great service and wonderful staff, I just love YC/BC! 2 more weeks till I am back and your post has me more anxious than ever!!!

THinking about you tomorrow, Teena! Good Luck and you got to be at your post when I get there in August!!!! Melissa

I love, LOVE hearing reports like this!

We're checking into BC for our first WDW trip in six days, and I can't wait. I'm almost worried that my expectations for a faboosh trip are TOO high, and I keep trying to lower them because, really, I can imagine quite a bit. But then I go and read magical reports like yours, and I just know I'll be dreaming about BC again tonight! :cloud9:

Glad you and your family had such a great visit, and thanks for sharing! :goodvibes
