We are cruising in a week or so with a newly walking baby who will turn 1 the day after disembarkation. I am hesitant to travel without a lightweight stroller (not quite umbrella but still light) because we do plan to walk around Nassau. I really have two questions: 1) is the sand at Castaway Cay firm enough to allow for getting baby around there using a stroller? and 2) What is the best way to deal with baby while on board? I can see that a stroller on ship would be a pain given that it forces you to use the elevators instead of stairs, but if I take her in a Lillebaby carrier I won't really have anyplace to put the carrier when she's down. Of course, we can carry baby, but she is quite heavy at this point and we were reluctant to do the 12-hour bicep workout every day
. Which solution proved to be the best for those of you who have traveled with a little one in this ability range (too mobile to be "stashed" easily but not walking on a functional, distance-covering level)?
