how to deal with just-walking 11 month old on DCL? Stroller/babywear/carry?

We are cruising in a week or so with a newly walking baby who will turn 1 the day after disembarkation. I am hesitant to travel without a lightweight stroller (not quite umbrella but still light) because we do plan to walk around Nassau. I really have two questions: 1) is the sand at Castaway Cay firm enough to allow for getting baby around there using a stroller? and 2) What is the best way to deal with baby while on board? I can see that a stroller on ship would be a pain given that it forces you to use the elevators instead of stairs, but if I take her in a Lillebaby carrier I won't really have anyplace to put the carrier when she's down. Of course, we can carry baby, but she is quite heavy at this point and we were reluctant to do the 12-hour bicep workout every day:). Which solution proved to be the best for those of you who have traveled with a little one in this ability range (too mobile to be "stashed" easily but not walking on a functional, distance-covering level)?

Bring it. You will thank us later. Whether it is a short nap or just to speed up getting somewhere there is plenty of time for the little one to run around but also that speeds up the need for the nap.

We brought a stroller for our daughter even at age 3. When she fell asleep at dinner, my husband dashed to the room and brought the stroller to the dining room so she could rest safely while the rest of us finished our meal. (Our server had made a bed out of 2 chairs, but we were afraid she'd fall off.)

Waiting for an elevator is typically not a major concern except right before or after shows, or right after the ship docks.

At that age we always travelled with a stroller AND an Ergo carrier. I was big into baby-wearing, and she was happier being carried. In airports, we often had the backpacks in the stroller and I wore the kid!

We had a diaper backpack that could attach to the stroller. It was great until you removed the child from the stroller before removing the backpack. Then the whole thing tipped over. 😂
