On our way... 2 nights at cbr before BC CL checkin early Wednesday!! Looking forward to meeting some of you :)

OMG were you lucky or what:wizard::wizard: Big Congrats to you!:cloud9::cloud9: I guess the free upgrade made you a believer for life. Is Lagoon View looking directly across the lake? Is it only on the 5th Floor and only available for Club Level? Did you feel CL is worth it?

We have never stayed here before, and have requested GV Wedding Gazebo as we don't want parking lot. We will become passholders, as we will be coming back in October. Do you happen to know if they give passholders a certain block of rooms or do you believe it is just random pixie dust?

Again, Congrats!!:goodvibes:goodvibes It must have been a perfect vacation!:yay::yay:

I really believe that it was because I usually book LV CL and I've been so many times that when they saw my reservation and it was available they just upgraded me. I might be wrong but that's what I assumed. I usually don't take the chance and go ahead and book the LV. Yes, the LV looks directly out towards the lagoon. I have always especially liked the LV that is actually over the back entrance that looks directly to the lighthouse and across to the BW.

I've never seen LV listed for anything other than CL, although water view is listed for non-CL and I've heard many people say this could be lagoon or pool. Maybe I've just been lucky. It's hard to say when I've never been in room that didn't have the LV. I do know that the wedding gazebo garden view is beautiful though!!!

No, they don't block special rooms for passholders. And IMHO EVERY vacation at YC is a PERFECT vacation!!! Hope you have a great time!

I have a question about what the CL concierges are able to do. We're having a family reunion at WDW in Feb. (but we're staying at POR because my sister and I are running the Princess Half and YC/BC aren't host resorts). I would really like to get 18 family reunion buttons to send to my family (as well as 3 first visit buttons for my nephews/niece) before we all arrive, but we don't have park tickets. Do you think the concierge would be able to get them for me? Thanks!

... DD and I will be staying DVC at BLT in November for 2 days! Have you stayed there?? DD26 really wanted to stay there so we are staying for 2 days before our YC Platinum trip and then going to our home resort AKL CL 1 bedroom for the last 2 days of our trip. While at BLT we have a one bedroom lake view. Any ideas what I should expect??? Should I request a certain tower?? I've been over on CR/BLT board but haven't really seen much about BLT. Can you share a little maybe?? I'm asking you based on your name :thumbsup2

~Nannette

Hi Nannette, I just saw this. If you go over to the DVC Planning Boards & then look for the thread BLT Rooms and Views by work2play, you should find all the info. you need. I stayed at BLT last July in a 2 bedroom MK View room and loved it! I can tell you that there is only one tower at BLT. BLT shares amenities with CR, in addition to having its own pool. I enjoyed the quick walk to/from MK. We took the boat to/from FW for HDH and it was relaxing. Enjoy your trip!

We ate there in May for the first time and to me it was standard fare for breakfast. It was really good but it was pretty standard, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage.

My son got the waffles, and I tried them and they were wonderful, but very very sweet, I could not have eaten them all.

THANK YOU!!! This helps a ton!! :worship:

We're leaving for YC tomorrow morning early! Can't believe its finally here.

I hope you two have a fabulous time!! :dance3:

Lost my link but google DisneyZone and you can bring up a really old layout of the YC/BC to get a flavor of the rooms and where they are located. Not sure about a GV room facing the the parking lot side. For some reason, I would kind of doubt it but then with this new catagory system perhaps a first floor that opens to a patio and some trees that block the view of the parking lot or trash dumpsters would now be GV.

DisneyZone - that was it! Thanks! Unfortunately, it looks like it has not been updated since the Standard/Garden split. So, has anyone stayed at a GV room at the YC overlooking the quiet pool? How are those rooms and their view? Or what would be a good request for GV at YC? TIA!

So, DH was hanging out with the cousins this week and they were trying to get us to switch from BC CL to the one bedroom villa at BCV. I know that we plan to spend more time at the resort but I don't plan to spend that time in the ROOM, KWIM? I would rather spend the money for CL and have the lounge and have the smaller room. Plus I think the separation of the families (while still being close and being able to avail of the same childcare if we can convince the kids and OF COURSE SAB) will probably make. Oth of our vacations better.

Kids were fighting tonight and I thought for the millionth time - WHY do I take you savages on vacation again?????? :rotfl:

DH was hinting around about my birthday pressie tonight - the Hercules Poirot in me thinks D&B bag!!!! He was consulting my sister about "patterns". Hopefully not wallpaper!!!!

GV would not overlook a quiet pool, you may see it though to one side. Best GV request would be wedding gazebo IMHO.

Check this site once you look at the room area you want to be in.

You can use this site to see the view if you look at DZ's site for the room number. Not sure how accurate it is but may give you an idea.

Hi Feckless, I'm with you! I would also take CL and the convenience of the CL lounge over space. I know that's not the case for everyone, but it's a good choice for our family. We really enjoyed the lounge and spent more time there than we would have anticipated.

I am not 100 % on this but I am pretty sure they should be able to get them for you - I know that the Front Desk staff has Happy Birthday, First Visit, etc... I would think that they would have the Family Reunion ones as well..

Thanks doccoc. Cool website. Looks like they are still developing but this could answer a ton of questions people have about room views!

(Hope you are doing OK!):)

Are you Grand Gathering? Maybe they can help?

Doccoc2002 had what I beleive would be the best request for a GV, the rooms overlooking the Gazebo are great! Remember, any room that sees water will be a WV so looking at the quiet pool would not be GV.

MickeyT asked but I'll second it, how you doing Doccoc? And Feckless, I agree with Pixarmom, sometimes there can be too much closeness. Stay with CL and sit with them at SAB.

1st, I totally hear you on the savages thing! :rotfl2: Every time we have a weekend filled with bickering and fighting I think the same thing!
2nd, Our kids are younger than yours so we still appreciate the separate room of the 1 bedroom. My kids still go to bed on the early side so it's nice for DH and I to get separate space. As the kids get older and we spend more time outside the room, we'll almost definitely switch to CL. For now we do a 1 bedroom villa for longer trips and CL for shorter trips.
