For those of you wondering about the construction, these photos may help. We hardly knew they were there except for the last morning when they were power washing. The noise was minimal and we were still able to rest in the afternoon without being disturbed.

This is what we saw when we checked in and most of our stay

I did see the YMCA done once or twice, along with lots of other dances. They were a lot of fun to watch!

Yeah! My little dancers will be in heaven. Must-leave-enough-time-for-the-pool-in-my-touring-plan!

Hello and thank you to everyone who has posted such great information here, and special thanks to Natebenma for sending me here! We're spending two lovely nights at YC (CL level!!!) in the middle of Aug. Here's where things get a bit silly -- we're not getting park tickets. We're visiting just to enjoy all of the non-park things to do. I really hope someone posts the Aug. activity calendar as soon as it's available (hint, hint -- thanks in advance!).

Here's where things get really silly -- when we leave YC, we're headed to a Ramada Inn for a couple more nights so we can explore Kennedy Space Center. How big of a let down is that motel going to be!?! :rotfl:

Hi! Great to see you over here! Hope your (spring?) trip to DC was great!

I have questions about YC Garden View Rooms - Are there any garden views on the parking lot side, or are all the garden views on the courtyard/lagoon side? When we went to BC two years ago, we had a garden view where if we stuck our head out and looked left we could see the lagoon. It was an interior courtyard room. Seemed like a good view to me, definitely better than the parking side. Also, what is a good room request for Garden View at YC? Does anyone have the link to the floor plans that indicated room type/layout. ARe those updated with the new garden/standard categories? TIA!

Anyone have experience with YC CL lagoon view? I'm trying to decide if I should upgrade our garden view. We're only staying two nights. Is it loud over the lagoon? Is the view wonderful? Am I better just requesting and hoping for a gazebo view?

I made the "mistake" of booking lagoon view the first time I stayed at YC back in 2003. That was about 12 trips ago (back to YC). Only on one occasion did I not book LV again and that was because it was not available. Lo and behold when I checked in I was upgraded!!!:banana::woohoo::woohoo:

I cannot bring myself to not book LV now. I LOVE this view. I also like the BC but the lagoon view at YC is what keeps me coming back. It is ssssoooooo relaxing and the only noise you hear is when you go outside on your balcony and listen to the boat horns coming in and out of the marina from the Friendship Boats. Every time I hear that boat horn when I first arrive I feel like I am back at home and instantly go into relax mode.

If you upgrade to YC CL LV, I hope you love it as much as I do. Be warned though, you may not want to go back to GV!

Edited to add: each of my lagoon views have also been CL.

This question was posted over on the BC Marketplace photo thread:

Any idea what a dozen eggs cost here?

Thanks for all the pics

I'll post your ? over on the YC/BC FAQ thread. Maybe someone going soon can get some prices on eggs, milk, oj, loaf of bread. Others have asked in the past too.

Hi all sorry I haven't been on here but I have been sick and in pain and trying to function.
I saw the surgent on Friday and I am scheduled for surgery Monday July 18th at 8am. She wanted me in asap. So I am a nervous but I got the Lord on my side and lots of prayers!

Hopefully I will be home within a day and I will have time to catch up during recovery.

Bye bye gallbladdar, hello pain free days soon!

Hi Katesdad. Thanks for the info. Will be calling today to put that in. In addition, do you happen to know if we can purchase annual passes at the concierge/ticket desk right before check-in, or do I have to go to Guest Relations at the back entrance to EPCOT to do this. I have gotten conflicting reports from Disney Reservations when I made the reservation vs. what I have been reading. Can you confirm this? Will be taking an early flight (yeah!) and land at 9:30 am. Thanks again!:goodvibes:goodvibes

We just purchased our AP at the concierge desk at BC. :)

Know this question has been answered but I found this on All Ears. Hope it helps. Copy and paste off AP page....

UPDATE: As of the last resort computer software update, Lobby Concierge at the Disney Resorts can now sell Annual Passes. They can ONLY sell new passes. They cannot do renewals. One thing to note is that Lobby Concierge can only put the AP on a plastic Key to the World card, not on a paper ticket. While this may sound like a good thing, Guest Relations reports many problems with the magnetic strip on the plastic cards becoming unreadable or demagnetized far more often than the paper tickets.

Not sure if the resort could sell you the Tables in Wonderland card. A major perk if you don't use a dining plan.

Hope all went well Heather and you get some relief from your pain, :flower3:

Lost my link but google DisneyZone and you can bring up a really old layout of the YC/BC to get a flavor of the rooms and where they are located. Not sure about a GV room facing the the parking lot side. For some reason, I would kind of doubt it but then with this new catagory system perhaps a first floor that opens to a patio and some trees that block the view of the parking lot or trash dumpsters would now be GV.

Sounds like a great trip to me. Hope you really enjoy the heck out of the YC CL. I'm waiting for the KSC to put the shuttle on display before I head over there. We were really "bummed" when NASA passed the Wright Pat Air Force Museum in Dayton OH over and sent a shuttle out to NY and CA instead.

Hope you have really great weather and an even better trip to report on when you return.

Thanks so much for your information and doing the research!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Every time I asked the Reservations Dept. I received a different answer. It's nice to know I won't have to run to Guest Relations right away! Not sure I have ever seen/had a paper ticket (except for the old E tickets --actually had them in 1979!). I'm not sure what a paper ticket would be. What if they get wet--guess I'm not sure of the benefit. I have never been an Annual Passholder; but, this year, we'll be back in October, and maybe in February for a convention if it is still to be so we figured we would give it a shot.

Again, you are very kind, and thanks for posting!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Nope not silly at all. We are staying 7 days in a few weeks and only have 2 park days planned.. The rest are resort only!!!

I'm so sorry to hear how poorly you have been feeling. Best of luck with your surgery and the recovery. We all look forward to hearing that you are feeling much better!

OMG were you lucky or what:wizard::wizard: Big Congrats to you!:cloud9::cloud9: I guess the free upgrade made you a believer for life. Is Lagoon View looking directly across the lake? Is it only on the 5th Floor and only available for Club Level? Did you feel CL is worth it?

We have never stayed here before, and have requested GV Wedding Gazebo as we don't want parking lot. We will become passholders, as we will be coming back in October. Do you happen to know if they give passholders a certain block of rooms or do you believe it is just random pixie dust?

Again, Congrats!!:goodvibes:goodvibes It must have been a perfect vacation!:yay::yay:

We've had APs for many years and have never had a problem with them. It's not really paper but rather something called Tyvek. For me, it would be worth the walk to the IG to get that format since there are reports of issues with the plastic APs.

Heather, prayers for successful surgery and a smooth recovery. :grouphug:

Dee, enjoying your TR. :surfweb:
