Lost my link but google DisneyZone and you can bring up a really old layout of the YC/BC to get a flavor of the rooms and where they are located. Not sure about a GV room facing the the parking lot side. For some reason, I would kind of doubt it but then with this new catagory system perhaps a first floor that opens to a patio and some trees that block the view of the parking lot or trash dumpsters would now be GV.

Is it this link?

Where are the current Standard View (non-CL) rooms? Obviously, the 3rd floor ones with the "rooftop" views - but are the 4th floor rooms above them also regular Standard View (non-CL) rooms?

Hi All,

Well under 3 weeks and counting till we arrive at YC. :woohoo: Can't wait.

I have been following this thread a while although I have not posted much. With the exception of posting all my photography questions over on the photography boards (I am hoping to get some really good pics this year with new DSLR)

I have a quick question however that I was hoping someone here might have some info on. We have a Pool/water view room and I was hoping to have a view of EPCOT area to possibly catch some of the illuminations on occasional nights. I think a read on here that all rooms at YC have a balcony and I put in a request for high floor and a view over lake rather than pool.

What I was hoping to find out is what do you think my odds are of this. Are there a good % of the "water/pool" view rooms that look out that way or do most look out over a pool?

Thanks in advance for any info.

I booked a garden view yesterday at BC. Is that a nice way of saying standard view or do they have both? I thought they offered standard, garden, and water views, but the link posted above doesn't have garden views listed anywhere. No biggie either way, just curious. Thanks!

Hi all sorry I haven't been on here but I have been sick and in pain and trying to function.
I saw the surgent on Friday and I am scheduled for surgery Monday July 18th at 8am. She wanted me in asap. So I am a nervous but I got the Lord on my side and lots of prayers!

Hopefully I will be home within a day and I will have time to catch up during recovery.

Bye bye gallbladdar, hello pain free days soon!

Go Heather!!! I'll be thinking of you but I know you're in good hands with the big three, Jesus, Charlie and Joeseph!

Feel better soon!

I have been lingering on these boards for months now and since i am booking airfare today, i guess i can make it official. I am going to Disney World:)
I actually booked our room and tickets in Feb. with a 40 percent off pin. We will be arriving at the Beach Club on December 1st and staying until the 15th in a garden view room (hopefully a better view than Marlton Moms;)) This will be my family's second trip to the World. We were there in Jan. 2008 and stayed at Pop. My mother will also be with us for this trip. So there will be 5 of us in one room. Can't wait!!!!

The link posted is very old, prior to the garden view designation of rooms. It can give you an idea of the layout of the rooms, but you can't really trust the category designations.

You booked a GV so you will see something green.

Since we're talking about breakfasts, DH and I have ressies at Captain's Grill (twice), Cape May, and the one at Kouzzina by Cat Cora (by the Boardwalk). Has anyone eaten here? Is it worth it? DH would be happy eating at Captain's Grill the whole time, but I was trying variety, but I only want good food on vacation! lol

I posted this last week, but I think it got lost in the shuffle. Has anyone been to Kouzzina? Is it good for breakfast? TIA

Welcome kaylamag! Two Weeks at BC during one of the best times of the year! Adding you to the Dec trip list. If I ever stay two weeks I would make sure I received a decent view following the non-online check in stratagy.

Haven't eaten there since it was Spoodles. CG keeps calling us back! Anyone?

That's the link I was referring to. As Natebenma stated, the catagories are old but it gives you an idea of the layout. What we've been told by the experts on this subject is that if you are looking at a roof or parking lot you are SV, if you have green in the view with no roof or parking lot you are GV and if you have water you are WV. My recommendation is that you do not do express check in. Instead when you arrive go to the reservation desk to check in. Ask where your room is and based on the map they show you then decide if you want something wilh a better view. If you do, then ask. They will work with you if they can (if they are 100% full occupancy there really isn't much they can do). Good luck.

Personally I think you have excellent odds of getting what you want. Again, do not do express check in but ask when you arrive at the Reservations desk and see if the room is what you want. If not, then ask for something else. There are lots of WV rooms with excellent views of the lagoon. Just look at that map that Karly05 has the link to and you will see that.

Congratulations and welcome. Yes, they have both SV and GV rooms at the BC. See response above as to what you can expect. Happy planning!

We ate there in May for the first time and to me it was standard fare for breakfast. It was really good but it was pretty standard, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage.

My son got the waffles, and I tried them and they were wonderful, but very very sweet, I could not have eaten them all.

My DH and I both had the stacked breakfast...
very hearty and we shared a pitcher of the White Sangria

We're leaving for YC tomorrow morning early! Can't believe its finally here.

I made the "mistake" of booking lagoon view the first time I stayed at YC back in 2003. That was about 12 trips ago (back to YC). Only on one occasion did I not book LV again and that was because it was not available. Lo and behold when I checked in I was upgraded!!!:banana::woohoo::woohoo:

I cannot bring myself to not book LV now. I LOVE this view. I also like the BC but the lagoon view at YC is what keeps me coming back. It is ssssoooooo relaxing and the only noise you hear is when you go outside on your balcony and listen to the boat horns coming in and out of the marina from the Friendship Boats. Every time I hear that boat horn when I first arrive I feel like I am back at home and instantly go into relax mode.

If you upgrade to YC CL LV, I hope you love it as much as I do. Be warned though, you may not want to go back to GV!

Edited to add: each of my lagoon views have also been CL.

Thanks so much for the info! I upgraded to lagoon view today. I asked for a quiet location so hopefully we end up with a nice view of the lagoon!! Thanks again :)

Hard to believe it's here jennb. When you see that "Only 1 day until" on your ticker and you know this time tomorrow you are on your way it becomes so real. Enjoy.

3 days out! Oh gosh! How did that happen?!?!?!? I must start packing soon!!!

I have a question that may have been asked on one of our YC/BC threads, but I don't know where to look :rotfl:. I don't usually link a credit card to the room key but I was wondering if you could add cash or Disney Rewards Visa points to the room key?

Got a little pixie dust sent our way. Our waitlist for BCV came through for December, so if you could add us to the December list, we'll be there Dec. 6th. Thanks. This trip will be our second stay at BCV and our very first visit in December. Can't wait to see the holiday decorations.

We've had APs for many years and have never had a problem with them. It's not really paper but rather something called Tyvek. For me, it would be worth the walk to the IG to get that format since there are reports of issues with the plastic APs.

Heather, prayers for successful surgery and a smooth recovery. :grouphug:

Dee, enjoying your TR. :surfweb:

Ditto to all of this!

Given the number of times our Tyvek APs become demagnatized, if the plastic becomes demagnatized more than that, we'd be spending lots of time getting them reissued! Based on this information, it would be worth the 5 minute walk over to the international gateway guest services for us, too! And no worries about getting wet - those things seem relatively indestructible!

jennb, have a wonderful trip!

dgbg, the white sangria looks great! Wonder if it's as good as the grey goose slushie . . .
