I logged on tonight to make a payment on my vacation balance and was pleasantly surprised to see that we're at 99 days to go til we're at the BC!! Kroger stores here currently are giving 4X fuel points for every gift card purchase, so I'm trying to take advantage of that as much as I can.

I haven't had a lot of time to be on here in the past couple of months. My FIL was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer (in his lung) last month after a previous months worth of tests and he started his 1st course of chemotherapy this week. He has been my childcare provider since DD7 was 6 weeks old, and he has DS3 several days a week now, so I'm trying to figure out adjustments to my work schedule. Luckily he tolerated his first chemotherapy pretty well (better than the rest of the family did ;) ), and the kids can still be around him, because those two are the world to him (and he is to them!---DD7 said PapPap before she ever thought about saying Mama). It's hard enough to explain to them that he's sick, without having to tell them that they can't go over to see him, because they're used to seeing him every day. Please keep him in your prayers.

Cindy

Don't you love double digits?

Sending good thoughts and wishes for your family!

Prayers for your dad. I'm sure having his GC around him help a lot for his positive attitude. Your family should be very proud, which I am sure you are! Let him know how proud you are of him for being so positive & strong!!
Have fun when you check your countdown again!!

I wouldn't panic yet!! about 18 days out then I'd call DME. 31 days is when they send them out. I bet they will come in the next week!!

Sending prayers for your FIL, Cindy.

(Those were YC/BC inspired prayers, of course. ;) )

Thanks for the support!!! I always start to get nervous at the one month point! Plus this is our first villa stay since buying DVC and they were able to get us into BC instead of our home resort AKV...so part of me is thinking it is too good to be true (despite the fact the reservation is all over my emails). Just anxious to get there ;)

I received my DME info and tags at the 30 day mark and got the booklet and travel tags from Disney on June 1 . I leave on the 25th . :woohoo:
I'm thinking that you should get all your travel docs next week , have a great vacation . :)

Updates made to page 1 Guest Lists:

osugal, 9/17-24, BC
GC&S, 10/12-19, BC
micknme, 11/13-19, BC CL LV (split stay- where are you off to?)

Everyone else- please take a moment when you get a chance to make sure you are listed with the correct information. Thanks!

We got the word that we will be at the BEACH CLUB for our trip July 5th - 12th if you could please make that update.

I also have a big surprise planned. It's killing me that I can't post about it because my daughter frequents these boards too and I don't want her to know! (And if you're reading this DD, I added this to torture you since I know how you are about not knowing something!!!)

Congratulations on the trip and all the planning.

I think it is a riot that you torture your DD on the boards. :rotfl2:

The unofficial "Gay Days" are happening at Disney right now, and they wear red shirts in the parks. :thumbsup2
Ahh. I knew I've heard of it before, but have always just referred to it as Gay Days.

We had a bunch of "red shirt" Brazilians on our honeymoon. Totally obnoxious. Good thing they didn't stay at Yacht or Beach Club as they really loved to shove their bikinis up their.. ahem.

Also, another question. When purchasing things with your KTTW card, do you have to sign a receipt? How about with a Disney gift card? Trying to figure out which would be simpler. Someone on the F&WF said it shouldn't take that long to sign a receipt anyway, but they don't have my very long German name either!
Yes, you have to sign a receipt. Just like using a credit card. I always use the KTTW cards for all our purchases. Makes it much easier. We do use Disney gift cards too (keep them separate for the kids). Both are pretty easy either way.

Can anyone provide me with some information on the illumination cruise that originates at the BC/YC. Price and boat size. I've heard about them, but can't seem to find any information.:surfweb:
No prices, but the pontoon boat holds 10 people. We did this back in 2003. It was nice. Not worth a second time, IMHO, but nice for a one-time trip. Try not to be the last boat to leave. We were, and I think we would have had a slightly better view parked more center under the bridges.

:rotfl: Thanks for changing my name! :rotfl: I think my signature is just going to become a doctor-type scribble at the F&WF booths then!

Hello everyone I’ve been lurking on this board (is it lurking if you subscribe – but don ‘t ever post ?) But I’m coming out of lurkdom because I’ve just paid in full our 8 night package at the Beach Club August 5-13– this means we’re really going!!!:cool1:

This board has been a fantastic source of information - so thanks to you all - and I hope to get a chance to thank Teena in person for all of her helpful insider advice while we’re there.

I also wanted to post that we will be in Florida for 4 days prior to our arrival at BC and plan to purchase several swim noodles , so we should have 2 or 3 to pass along on August 13th if anyone is interested.
BTW we live in France and over here swim noodles are called “frites”” which is the French word for French fries. :confused3

This will be my 3rd trip to the world after a 2 day stay off site at DAys Inn in 1976 (we drove down from Philly for 2 days, stayed in Florida 5 days and drove back over 2 days without any dvd players ipods gameboy DS - just those "guess and Know" invisible ink activity books -anyone remember those? -and it was still the best vacation of alll time) I finally made it back in 2009 when I took my 3 kids (14, 12 and 8 at the time) on my own because my French Disney-resistant husband had no interest (after all he had spent one day in MK and another in Epcot In 1987 so of couse he had already seen it and did't need to go back :rotfl2:)
The kids and I had such a great time we've been talking about it constantly since at the dinner table and we finally wore him down and BC here we come!! Altough I had to negotiate a day at Kennedy Space Center to appease him - small price to pay. I must say that SAB and being close to Epcot were big selling points!
Can't wait!

I will be at the BC on the 25th and have not received our DME booklet or tags yet. I'll have to keep an eye on the mail......
