Obviously, since we live close by, we drive to the parks. However, when we want to go to MK, we go over and park in the cast parking lot at the Y&B and then take the bus from the BC. It is much quicker than driving to MK, parking at the TTC, waiting for the parking lot tram, then waiting for the ferry or the monorail.

Don't take a taxi to the MK!!!!!!! A cab will only bring you to the TTC- you then need to either get onto the monorail or the ferry boat to the MK. The buses take you right to the MK entrance.

If you feel like you need to take a cab, you can take a cab to the Contemporary and walk, but really, I think you will be fine with a bus if you are out early enough.

Just bolded this info on the front page...

See, this is why I love you guys. :lovestruc

Ok, bus it is to MK..... I guess the cab really only works the best if you're going between resorts? The lady at the GF Spa said that's how we should get there from YC. I translated that to "easiest way to get anyhwere I'm not walking". :goodvibes

OK, so I called and spoke to someone in Disney's "Package Center". According to the guy I talked to, the Yacht Club package center is open from 7 am to 7 pm, 7 days per week and that the charge to receive the package is based on the weight of the package.

Now, it sounds like if you arrive around 5:30-6 PM you should be ok getting the stroller that night or first thing the next morning, BUT I will add the disclaimer that I am somewhat skeptical of information that comes from CMs over the phone (in fact the first woman I spoke to said there wouldn't be a charge for guests staying at the resort).

So if anyone in the next month or so happens to be using the package delivery at the YC Convention Center, can you report back to us any information about the hours of operation?

Thanks!

Thank you so much

If you don't get the information before I will report back after our stay :thumbsup2

One other thought... We shipped a stroller via amazon last summer and picked it up at the YC Convention Center. Those hours that Dee posted sound about right to me. There was a charge. The CM working at the package center was LOVELY. Exactly how a Disney employee should be (like Teena!). He helped us open the box and assemble the stroller. He took the empty packaging away for us. We ended up tipping him extra for his kindness and helpfulness. The Convention Center was a little bit of a walk (I don't want to overstate the distance but I was a little surprised coming from BCV) but we were the only people there.

Amanda

Just want to make sure you saw this response- Amanda had a stroller shipped to the convention center in August.

So just to satisfy my curiosity- this information is not helpful to anyone else- but as a BC Cast Member can you park in any of the cast parking lots or just the one at Y&B? Could you park at the Contemporary cast lot?

We leave for the Mayo on Monday morning and I have pre-op testing all afternoon. Then Tuesday AM is the surgery and back home Wednesday morning.
Thanks for letting me (us) know. Thoughts and prayers especially on Tuesday for you!

We had a GV in February, 4th floor I do believe, and we could see quite a few of the high fireworks. Even from the bed; didn't have to go on the balcony if we were lazy! Close to the lobby we were not, but it wasn't bad.
Sorry. I didn't see OP was staying at YC. Our's too was GV at BC.

We could see the fireworks from our GV room at the BC. We were on the end that faces towards the IG. But that was BC.
At first I was surprised by eeyore having a view of Illuminations fireworks from a GV room. I even got on Bing maps and was tryinjg to figure that out. But then I saw the second post. I honestly cannot see a GV room that would have fireworks views from the Yacht Club.

We will be there the same exact dates! August can't get here soon enough for me!:goodvibes
Me too kinda - 8/22 to 8/30! :cool1::cool1:

Hello, everyone!

I had always been a "Poly" girl for all of our previous trips - but this past November, I took a solo trip and the Poly was booked. I ended up booking a stay at the Yacht Club - and OMG! I fell in love with it! I LOVED the convenience to my favorite park, Epcot!

So - I've booked a Mother/Daughter Trip for this August, and I decided to check out the Beach Club - even CLOSER to Epcot! Woot!

I'm so looking forward to staying at this resort - if it's half as wonderful as the YC, then I know we'll love it!

My DD(11) and I will be there August 6 - 13th this summer...and then, I have another solo trip planned (for the F&W Festival) from Nov. 9 - 13th. Both of these stays will be at the Beach Club...the August trip will have us on the Club Level - exciting!

I've been a long-time lurker of this thread; just never posted on it before!
Welcome!!!!

I received my travel documents today!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

But... Now I'm kicking myself in the behind for being such a tightwad and booking a standard view room. Is it too late to upgrade? Can I do it now or should I wait until I check in and pay the difference then?
Yes, you can change. However, since you have received your documents already, they may charge you $10 to change. Also, you are able to change once you check in but only at the front desk. Once you check in, your reservation is transferred to the resort.

How long is the walk from the BCV to the monorail near Epcot? Would really like to avoid taking the bus to MK
It was mentioned how far the walk was, but also keep in mind that you will NOT make rope drop at the MK, if that is what you are intending. You'll have to wait until Epcot is open, walk through WS and then FW, then leave the park, get on the monorail and go.

While I love coming back from MK through Epcot, I take the bus there to begin with.

No. My ID gets me through the automated gate at the Y&B. It wouldn't work at the other automated gates.

Welcome KCSherri and jjsdad....Adding your Aug dates to trip list. jjsdad>are you staying BC, YC or BCV? (Dee- Keeping on page 4. Added December list on page 4 post also. Hopefully be easier to keep up)

My husband is chaperoning the Senior trip to WDW next week.

My sister is going to Orlando for business in May, and planning 2 days in Epcot.

It's 17 months till I get to Disney.

It's NOT FAIR!!

Just sayin'

I was supposed to chaperone our senior trip until the kids decided they didn't want to pay $400 for a trip.

I'm secretly glad.

My son's 8th grade graduation trip next May is to Disney- we are in "negotiations" about me chaperoning. Nate mostly doesn't want me there, but every once and awhile he remembers that "Mom pones (excels) at Disney".

My thought now is to be a quasi-chaperone. The kids and admininstrators and chaperones stay at one of the All Stars. I'm planning on staying at the BC and meeting everyone at the parks!

Believe if any group has an answer it's probably this one.
We are booked at the BCV (cash) for 6 nights in June.
My DH, me and my 33 yr old DD. (We are meeting other family there).
My DH and I will be upgrading our FL Seasonal passes to Fl Annual passes when we get there.
My DD does not have tickets yet.
We are contemplating adding the QS plan...
the question...can we do this and how would this effect my DD? Would she have to purchase tickets and meal plan as a package?
How would this effect me and the hubby?

Thanks
Robin

First of all you have to add the meal plan BEFORE you check-in.

You can purchase your DD a ticket whenever and wherever. Tickets do not have to be on your key to the world. You could just purchase her a 5 day hopper or whatever else you want.

Since there are three people on the reservation, all three of you would have to be on the dining plan if you add it to your reservation.

Personally I do not think the QS saves you that much money. I think the regular dining plan saves you much more. When we go for a few days here and there and stay at Disney, we always get the regular dining plan. JMO

Thanks for such a quick reply.
I did know that we had to add the dining plan before we check in (but appreciate the reminder).
It's not so much the $ for DH and me but for my DD....she is definitly on a budget and is not a very big eater.
Just wanted to make sure all our ducks are in a row before we get there...less for her to stress about.
(We are meeting DS and family...2 little DGD under 3 so big meals aren't a priority).

Teena...may I add by prayers and positive thoughts to you? I have never met you in person..have glimpsed u several times at the BC and with your positive outlook and zest for living you are quite the inspiration!!!
