I wanted to make sure you didn't miss this answer since your question was post twice.

Thanks all

One more question, sorry for being annoying but as you can see I am really trying to avoid taking a bus with two little ones.

When the boat leaves you at Epcot, are you close to the monorail?

Thanks again

You are not that close, I think it's about a 20 minute walk to the monorail, maybe a little longer with little ones.

The Epcot boat stop is BEFORE you enter EPCOT at the International Gateway. In other words, the Epcot boat dock is in between the side of the BC closest to Epcot and the International Gateway into Epcot. The Epcot boat dock is less than a 4 minute walk from the lobby of the BC. I clocked myself last year (and I'm old) and it took me 3 minutes and 22 seconds to walk to the International Gateway from the BC. The Monorail station is in the front of Epcot. So, you need to walk into Epcot at the International Gateway and then walk past UK, past Canada and then into Future World and all the way past everything in Future World to the very front of Epcot. It would be at least a 30 minute walk. Then you have to wait for the FIRST monorail. After taking that 10-15 minute monorail ride (after you wait for the monorail to get there), you get off at the TTC. Then you wait for the Express MK Monorail. After waiting for that monorail, you get on it and it takes about 5 minutes to get to MK UNLESS YOU GET STOPPED FOR TRAFFIC WHICH HAPPENS TO ME EVERY TIME I'M ON THAT MONORAIL.

Hello, everyone!

I had always been a "Poly" girl for all of our previous trips - but this past November, I took a solo trip and the Poly was booked. I ended up booking a stay at the Yacht Club - and OMG! I fell in love with it! I LOVED the convenience to my favorite park, Epcot!

So - I've booked a Mother/Daughter Trip for this August, and I decided to check out the Beach Club - even CLOSER to Epcot! Woot!

I'm so looking forward to staying at this resort - if it's half as wonderful as the YC, then I know we'll love it!

My DD(11) and I will be there August 6 - 13th this summer...and then, I have another solo trip planned (for the F&W Festival) from Nov. 9 - 13th. Both of these stays will be at the Beach Club...the August trip will have us on the Club Level - exciting!

I've been a long-time lurker of this thread; just never posted on it before!

:welcome: :cheer2: party:

Welcome KCSherri!!

Fire away with any questions now that you're "Talking to us". ;) :rotfl:

Like they said in the movie Dirty Dancing "Nobody puts Baby in a corner. "

And for the newer folks, remember there is no such thing as a stupid question... at one point we all started with zero information so don't be bashful. If you have a question, chances are somebody else is wondering the same thing! :thumbsup2

Can someone explain to me how the busses work for this resort exactly? I know at times the epcot resorts can share a bus, but we have always stayed at the dolphin around the 4th of July and always had our own bus (never shared with the other 2 epcot hotels). Now we are going Aug 22-29 and I'd like to have a clue as to how this is all going to go down. Thanks in advance.

Can anyone explain this for me?

The reason I ask is we have one of those 8:05 ADRs at the CP midweek (Aug 24). Just curious if we would be sharing a bus with all the other resorts, is there a chance a full bus could show, and what time should we plan to be at the bus stop?

IMHO, taking the bus with two little ones would be much easier than going through EPCOT- see Teena's description (and she left out the bag check at the IG). Not to mention at least twice as fast. I don't think it is worth the time or aggravation to try to avoid them.

I was at the BC last August (6th-15th) and going to MK in the morning we stopped at BWI (YC pickup before BC). You should be okay for your morning ADR. If you're worried about a full bus, you could always walk over to the YC pickup, but I think you'll be okay. Coming home was another story. We were the 4th stop (Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC, then BWI). Seems this scenario varies based on all the posts I've seen over the last year. I thought that was way too many stops on the return trip!

Teena - Best of luck on Tuesday! You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Sorry that you have to go back to the OR but I know you'll have great results and everything will be fine. :grouphug:

Robyn - I heard a rumor that your mom is doing better. Sending lots of good thoughts your way.
Mike - Prayers for your sister's surgery. I hope she's back running before she knows it!

Thanks for the thoughts for my mom. Everything went GREAT today! They were completely unable to reproduce her irregular heart beat (and they even brought her heart rate up to 200) and the doctor is very happy. She will need to wear a holter monitor for 2 weeks to make sure nothing funky is going on but things are looking good!
I'm sure I'm missing other folks who need good thoughts and prayers because I've just been crazy busy and haven't managed to catch up here. Pixie dust and prayers to any and all in need!
We're in the midst of house-buying insanity on top of getting a new nanny and all the other regular craziness so I apologize that I'm not here much right now!

One other thought... We shipped a stroller via amazon last summer and picked it up at the YC Convention Center. Those hours that Dee posted sound about right to me. There was a charge. The CM working at the package center was LOVELY. Exactly how a Disney employee should be (like Teena!). He helped us open the box and assemble the stroller. He took the empty packaging away for us. We ended up tipping him extra for his kindness and helpfulness. The Convention Center was a little bit of a walk (I don't want to overstate the distance but I was a little surprised coming from BCV) but we were the only people there.

Thanks for the reply. I think I read somewhere that the bus takes about 15 minutes to get to MK?

Will be thinking of you next week, Teena..please post when you are feeling up to it to let us know about the fantastic positive surgery results you are going to have and get.....Melissa

I received my travel documents today!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

But... Now I'm kicking myself in the behind for being such a tightwad and booking a standard view room. Is it too late to upgrade? Can I do it now or should I wait until I check in and pay the difference then?

Yes, I wrote that. That does not include any wait time for the bus, or stops at other resorts.

In July 2009 and July 2010, we made 4 trips from BC to MK. Each morning we were out at the bus stop by 7:30 and made it in time for the rope drop ceremony at 8 am (early EMH). At that time in the morning, we never stopped at other resorts and we didn't have full buses.

There is allegedly an early morning Character breakfast bus- I say allegedly because we have never tried to use it, so I have not witnessed it first hand. This bus supposedly starts picking up at the resorts at 6:30 am. I would think if you were out at the bus stop by 7 am or perhaps a little earlier, you would have no problem getting to the MK for your 8:05 reservation and some spectacular solo pictures in Main Street.

I would do it now to make sure something is available.

Do it! :cool1:

Then again, don't listen to me, I've gone from Bridezilla to Minniezilla in the past few days. Working with Catering to plan a VERY special Anniversary dinner for my husband. The "Rolex" vacation is turning into a literal interpretation.....:eek::eek:

I actually had this same question earlier this week while realizing our Royal Table ADR was literally for when the park opened. There is a special enterance at MK for those w/ tours and ADRs (bring proof, they may ask you depending on how busy it is) and bring a camera, you will get some GREAT park shots!

I suspect the resort will be able to tell you the best way to get to the park at that time. We might just take a cab and be done with it.... I want at least a good 30 minutes with just my D70 and Cinderella's Castle! (Oh yeah, and my DH....) :lmao:

For Teena and Bob :flower3:. Will be praying for you.

Got a surgery in our family. Sister that was with us at BCV in Jan (snowbound from Greenville SC) She is having a heart valve replaced in April so she can get back to her marathoning! She is going through the whole pre-surgery anxiety right now so we will just have to be there for her.

Prayers for your sister....hopefully she will be back in running form soon!

How early did they let you in? For some reason when we had our 805 breakfast last time they didn't let us in until like 7:50ish I think. We were coming from the POP though, which is a single stop bus route.

Don't take a taxi to the MK!!!!!!! A cab will only bring you to the TTC- you then need to either get onto the monorail or the ferry boat to the MK. The buses take you right to the MK entrance.

If you feel like you need to take a cab, you can take a cab to the Contemporary and walk, but really, I think you will be fine with a bus if you are out early enough.

Just bolded this info on the front page...

I second natebenma on NEVER taking a cab to MK. You would think it is at the MK front gates, but it isn't. The bus is always faster.

Also, for character breakfasts before park opening, there is a special turnstyle to go through. They will hold everyone to the side until 7:55 am or so. The odds of you getting a picture with NO ONE behind you isn't the greatest, since there are plenty with CRT ressies who will be going straight to the castle without stopping for any photos. But rest assured, there may only be a handful in the background, not the masses that around when the park is open.
