Cheers. Sounds like it might be a tad too far for the kiddo then. Don't want to wear her out before we even get to the park! We might try it on the way back though, when she's too pooped to walk.

I think that's a good plan with those ages.(children) I think the ages & weather are two variables. We walked to HS last week 3 times in 70 degree weather. (But we had ages 17 thru 49 yr old.)

70 degrees sounds much nicer than the potentially 90+ that we'll be facing. Do you recall if the walkway is paved or not? Wondering how "stroller friendly" it'll be...

On the days when we don't visit the parks right away we usually like to be out by the pool around 11:00 AM, which would be after we finish breakfast or maybe a bit earlier. So I was wondering how fast does Stormalong Bay get busy in terms of getting pool chairs?

SAB gets busy early. We typically will go out and get towels by 9:00 and save our chairs if we plan on a pool day. Then we go grab breakfast before heading back to the pool.

We like to be close to the main pool by the slide (and in front) and those chairs go early.

Thank you for the good wishes. I hope other dissers here will also give you their opinion on "is the BC worth $900 more than POFQ".

My opinion: There is a huge difference between a deluxe and moderate resort! The rooms at a deluxe are larger and the amenities much more extensive. If you stay at POFQ, your only transportation to the four parks is by bus. You do have boat service from POFQ to Downtown Disney. At the BC, it is less than a 5 minute walk into Epcot, we have boat transportation to the Studios and bus service to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney. If you stay at the BCV, BC or YC, you can go to Stormalong Bay (SAB). SAB is our 3 acre water park pool ... it is situated between the BC and YC. Be advised though that once the kids go to SAB, they usually don't want to go to the parks. There are activities all day long (different every day) at and around SAB. There are also movies on the beach or lawn every night and marshmallow roasts. We have many restaurants at Y&B but no food court (like POFQ). You also can walk over to the Boardwalk for more restaurant choices.

POFQ is a lovely resort. However, it is a moderate resort. There is a huge difference!!! When my family went on a week vacation to WDW, we always stayed at a deluxe resort ... it just made the trip extra special. However, when my daughter and I would go to WDW for a long weekend, we usually stayed at one of the moderates. If you are only going to sleep at the resort and not enjoy all that the resort offers, then save your money and stay at POFQ! If you plan on spending time at the resort (and in June, you will probably want to hit the parks early, come back and spend the afternoon cooling off at the resort and then hit the parks again after dinner), then you will definitely get the benefits of the BC!!!!

Hopefully more people here will give you their opinion too so you can decide what would work best for you and the family.

P.S. Again, my personal opinion: one character breakfast is enough! I think the amount of money they charge for the character breakfasts is ridiculous. However, personally, I think you do better having lunch or dinner at the Crystal Palace ... you get more for your money. Again ... that's just my personal opinion.

Hi everyone. I have a question about breakfast that I hope you can help with. We are on the dining plan and I hate to waste table service meals on breakfast. Is there somewhere within walking distance where I can get counter service breakfast?I have three sons who are 7, 9 and 11 and the only option I can find, yoghurt from the marketplace, just won't do the trick.

Just to let you know - it is frowned upon to "save chairs" at the pool. There have even been times when the lifeguards will remove things if no one is there for a period of time.

CRFAN - 11:00 you can usually have no problem getting a chair. It's a little bit harder around 1:00 or 2:00

Update on my Mom - they postponed the surgery today until at least Monday. She is having a test tomorrow to make sure the infection (or God forbid abcess) isn't in her heart. Then they'll make the decison on the surgery. Thanks again for keeping all of us in your prayers.

CRFAN - 11:00 you can usually have no problem getting a chair. It's a little bit harder around 1:00 or 2:00

During our previous stays at the Contemporary, Boardwalk Inn, Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge we always went out to the pool around 11:00 AM. Around 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM we are either in the parks or shopping somewhere.

Yes. It was paved the whole way. I usually went toward the Yacht Club towards the Boardwalk to catch the path & it was marked with a sign near the Swan & Dolphin. One time on the way back from HS, we cut through the Boardwalk clown pool area sidewalk & we came out in the middle of the Boardwalk, because we were going to the Boardwalk Bakery.
We caught the boat on the way back one time because it was there at HS & we had time. But when we had to be somewhere, we liked knowing we would be there in 12-15 minutes walk.

They have french toast, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, cereals at the Marketplace.

Someone may have a better idea, but my girls(17,18,20) liked the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. It is sit down though. The menu on http://allears.net/din/dining.htm is a little outdated, but gives you an idea.
If they are really hungry one morning, the breakfast buffet is not bad at $16.99, because beverages are included.

We stayed at BC last September and my kids (ages 7 and 2 then) enjoyed the french toast sticks from the Marketplace. I think we had them twice that week.

Ok this was our joke on the last Junes vacation. I had the family prepped that chairs are gone, you gotta be quick,e tc. We realized no matter WHAT time of day we went we always had at least 2 chairs side by side. We never had an issue and never had to worry about it. We were there from 6/10 - 6/21

OK, so we'll be at BC from 6/17 to 6/25. I'm thinking of upgrading to the DxDP. Admittedly it may be a lot of TS meals w/ 2 almost 2 year olds..... but anyway.

I'm thinking that the DxDP would offer us the flexibility of bagging our plans & just ordering room service if on any given day the twins were just too beat to go out to a dinner ressie. Which begs the question, there is room service at BC, right? I don't recall seeing a room service menu online anywhere. Anyone know?

Maybe the easiest way to describe SAB to my family is plan for the worst and hope for the best when it comes to their pool chairs. Now I told them in the past how you need a wrist band to actually enter it, however since we hadn't stayed there before we never wondered how it was actually getting pool chairs.

We are in the process of planning a trip in August. We have stayed at both YC & BC, standard view rooms. I would rather have BC, but we really want to get a king bed.
Right now the options available are YC garden view, water view, standard view club, or BC water view, or standard view club. I wished they had BC garden view or lower available to save some money as the view isn't really important to us, but the bed is. Any input on which is our best chance to get a king bed?

Yacht in general has more kings beds ... still not that many!
As for the club rooms, Beach has 3 total, 1 stardard view and 2 waterview I think.
Yacht has 2 garden view, but not sure how many in stardard view and water view but definitely not alot upstairs in club level.
I'll try to get a better count for non-club level rooms when I get into work.

Just so you know it is 2TS/meal. I'd only order if I knew I had credits burn.
