Just so you know it is 2TS/meal. I'd only order if I knew I had credits burn.

Oh I know. We'd either pay cash OOP for room service or credits if we were already ditching an ADR somewhere & had the DxDP. DxDP is a lot of credits. And depending on how bad the kiddos may be on a given evening -- might be well worth it to us to not have to try & get 2 uncooperative toddlers out & civil in public.

My twins will be just 2 weeks shy of their 2nd birthday during our trip :scared1::scared1:.... always good to have a fallback plan, I say. :thumbsup2

Yacht in general has more kings beds ... still not that many!
As for the club rooms, Beach has 3 total, 1 stardard view and 2 waterview I think.
Yacht has 2 garden view, but not sure how many in stardard view and water view but definitely not alot upstairs in club level.
I'll try to get a better count for non-club level rooms when I get into work.

Thanks sooo much!!
I actually got the chance to meet you and speak with you for a bit a couple of years ago Teena.
We just love YC & BC. We have also stayed at POFQ, Dolphin, & Contemporary Resort.

I have the most wonderful memory of room service breakfast with my DD's 2 1/2 and 4 at the beach club. My younger DD would never try a bagel with cream cheese until I'm on the balcony enjoying mine and she decides she wants some. The look on her face was precious a "What have I been missing my whole life?!" I ended up eating her pancakes but she is still a bagel and cream cheese fan.

I've read before that Epcot is a nice stroll from the BC -- which was one of the reasons we decided to go for a split-stay in the first place. :goodvibes Being able to actually WALK to a park is such a bonus, I'm thrilled.

So, is HS a walk-able distance as well or should one just stick to taking the boat? (We'd probably be pushing a potentially empty stroller with a 4 year old tagging along.)

OK, take my thoughts on this with a warning: I love to walk! So I love the walk to DHS and it only takes us about 15-20 minutes. Our regular walking crew includes three boys (ages pre-school to pre-teen) and my husband, but sometimes my parents join us. (I'll admit that some of the crew prefers the boat and we have to compromise so we do both.) As previous posters have mentioned, it's paved the entire way. It winds past Boardwalk if you turn left or Swan/Dolphin if you turn right from BC, and then the path leads along the lake. It's really a lovely walk and I even defend it in the summer (now that's where I'm probably really alone!)

I've also been known to push the empty stroller on that walk - our pre-schooler has tons of energy and then quietly crawls into the stroller and falls asleep later in the day. :)

Also, welcome to all our new posters! :welcome:

Robyn, as always, your mom is in our prayers.

Just got off the phone with the surgeon. Good news and bad news.

Bad: One of the margins showed cancer cells so I have to have another surgery. Testing is 3/28 and surgery on 3/29.

Good: I do NOT have to go on that crazy cancer drug for five years. No hot flashes!!!!!!

Bob's really upset and I am too but I'm concentrating on the good news instead.

Yeah for great news...sorry you have to go for another surgery:(
She said it's non-invasive, grade 0, yep ... that's good news as long as they get it all out! And then 6 weeks of radiation and then mammos with my surgeon at Mayo every 6 months. Definitely good news.

I got my pathology report on Tuesday...lets just say this is the first time I've been on the computer since:mad::headache:
I have been diagnosed with breast cancer and have had 2 days to process it...OK still in shock I am only 33 years old.
I am getting genetic test:headache:ing done to see if I have the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene...if so I will need bilateral mastectomy:( (They are suggesting that anyways since I am only 33.) I will also need my ovaries removed.
I could get a lumpectomy as long as the MRI doesn't find anything more. I have that scheduled for Monday.
I am trying to stay postive and plan our vacation but too much info lately and decisions to make:headache: My husband is having a rough time. We are planning to tell our 7 & 5 year old DD's(5yr old is already suspicious) once we have the MRI results and surgery details and what I plan to do.

Just thought I would give an update. Thank you everyone for your prayers.

Teena-I am glad you allowed everyone to know what was happening to you cause it has really helped me more than you know Thank you. I continue to pray for you.

Robyn- I hope your mother is doing better...my prayers to you and your family.

Yes, welcome to all of the new posters! This thread has been smokin' the past few days!

I'll join you in defending the walk even in the summer! As you know, my family likes to race the boat. Well, maybe "like" is a strong word, but we are compeled to race the boat, even if we have been to 3 different parks that day!

And ditto to Robyn, your family has been in my thoughts often these past couple of months.

I'll try to get to the updates on the Page 1 guest lists either tonight or tomorrow morning- tonight is the only night I am home all week! We had a show for a small audience last night and tomorrow is Opening Night for Canterbury Tales.

My heart goes out to you, I can not even imagine dealing with such news.

Good luck on Monday and with the additional testing. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way :goodvibes

Oh no, I will most likely be flying out to Jeanne's on 8/23 to help her get ready for school to begin. Can't believe I'll miss you!
Oh shucks. I am a huge lurker here right now, just waiting for the right time to "jump in" and get to know everyone. I was hoping to meet you, Teena, during our stay, but we check in late 8/22, so we'll be missing you. :guilty:

I've been following along your cancer "journey", and I've been praying for you. So many I have known have been affected by cancer. I've even had precancerous cells, and I remember how I felt at the time (freaking out). But thankfully, it has been taken care of and I am extremely thankful.

Lurker coming out again. Maybe more as my trip gets closer. I convinced my husband to upgrade our room from standard view to garden view. I literally had to show him what a standard view maybe on Bing maps. Yes, I'd like to have at least some greenery to enjoy my time while others are getting ready.

Can't wait to go, as we've only been to the YC once back in 2003, and my kids have grown quite a bit since then -- even adding a daughter (whom I was just pregnant with during that trip). :)

Doccoc2002, Teena and Robyn, Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. This thread is such a complete blessing. I remember reading the first page of this thread several months ago and having the line about "you may laugh/ cry, etc." and thinking, "Nah, not me.
Cry? I'm researching, Disney! C'mon." Well, those words have proven to be profound. I have indeed laughed many times and cried a few too. We are all going through so much it seems, but hang on to our Disney happiness to keep us going. I am fairly new here, but can say that I LOVE reading your posts and do so faithfully throughout every single day. We are a little family---the YC/BC family--- and by God, I think we ROCK! :thumbsup2

I was going to write something myself, but Alice, you said exactly what I was thinking, so ditto!

You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Any one have any reviews (either from you or your kids) on the Sandcastle Club? Pics would be cool too. :goodvibes

ODS really likes the kids clubs in general & wants to spend at least 1 night at one. He has been to both the Neverland Club at the Poly & Cub's Den at WL.

doccoc2002- I am sorry to hear your news. I hope that sharing what you are going through will help as you go through the process of conquering this!

The thoughts and prayers of many are with you.

I am thankful that such a caring group of people has come together on this thread. One of my favorite descriptions of us is that we are "imaginary internet friends", but really, it is more like "imaginary internet family"!

My kids preferred the Sandcastle Club to the Neverland Club! Last year we had them scheduled for one at the Sandcastle club. Well they liked it so much that they ended up going three times! They have reservations for two nights in July already.

We're DHS walkers too. Mostly in the morning (before it gets too hot). Lots of times we've done it when we've just missed the boat, and we ended up beating the boat.

Usually on the way back we're tired and take the water taxi.

Thank you Teena !! Just wondering how long it takes to get to MK and back incase we head back for a afternoon swim !

Also welcome comments from any boarders who have stayed in both resorts

The trip to and from MK by bus is about 15 minutes once you are on the bus. The wait for the bus can be 5-20 minutes. We have only been to the Beach Club in July, and I don't remember sharing the bus to MK or AK with any of the other resorts. We are usually waiting for the bus first thing in the morning (7:30 for an 8 am opening, we get there for rope drop).

I have only stayed at All Star Music and the Beach Club, so I don't have any insight about POFQ for you.

I know that when it comes to the buses usually the Boardwalk shares with the Swan & Dolphin, where as the Yacht Club & Beach Club share together and usually all five resorts share the bus for Downtown Disney. Now this is not a big issue but I was wondering between the Yacht Club & Beach Club which resort gets picked up 1st and is dropped off 1st when returning from the Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom? As for Downtown Disney we always drive there since we have a car and is the one location we hate using the Disney buses for getting to.

I know that the YC is picked up first. If I remember correctly, Swan & Dolphin is first on the return trip. But I also remember days when the bus just brought us to the YC and then it dropped others off at the BC. I kind of think it depends on where they are going and coming from. :confused3

I just managed to get thru the last couple of pages.
doccoc2002, I hope your tests turn out well. The waiting is so difficult because all you do is think and worry. It is such a stressful time for you and your family...especially given your age. I have daughters your age and I can't imagine the worry you all must have right now.

Teena, good luck going back to work and with your next surgery. I am so glad to hear you like where you are getting your care. That is 80% of the battle I think.

Robyn, thoughts are with you and your family. A friend's mother had something that sounds very similar. She spent about 5-6 weeks in ICU, but she is now home and doing very well! It took a long time to treat the infection and they thought it was in the heart around the new valve. But she turned the corner and the next thing we knew, she was discharged.
