Hi guys ... I'm actually sitting up and on the computer. I can't thank you enough for all the prayers, pixie dust, thoughts, wishes, etc. you have all sent. It really helped me get through these past few months... what an ordeal.

Dr. McLaughlin called an hour ago and all pathology is back and I'm in the clear. Just need to get through the next few days of pain. I will get to meet with the radiation people next week and Dr. McLaughlin says I can start radiation on 4/25. So I guess starting that week I'll be working Saturdays and Sundays for six weeks instead of Sundays and Mondays since radiation will be every day Monday through Friday. Dr. McLaughlin said I don't need to come back to the Mayo for six months although she'll see me before that since they are coming to the Beach Club for their first Disney vacation.

I'm hurting more than the first surgery but she said she went all the way to the muscle this time so that's probably why. And this time I itch ... especially my back. They did a back block again too but I didn't itch like this last time. I'm driving poor Bob nuts with rubbing cream on my back. At least once I got home I had my back scratcher so I wasn't bugging him every five minutes to scratch my back. I'm using my pain meds and ice like crazy ... hopefully I'll start feeling better tomorrow. I am planning on working Sunday and Monday.

So hit me with those questions again and I'll try to keep the answers coming!

Thanks again for everything ... you all really helped me get through everything!!!

Teena,
Glad to hear you got great news from the doctor! You are an amazingly strong woman and an inspiration to me!

I look forward to meeting you in July:yay:! Stay strong and healthy, healing prayers are being sent your way

Tracy

Sorry I didn't answer this before. The "bounceback clock" is in every room at the Y&B and the BCV. If you don't have one in your room, call housekeeping and ask for one to be delivered to your room!

Just out of curiosity, can someone tell me what exactly teh bounceback offer was? I have never gotten one before since we always stayed at the dolphin but we will be staying at the BC this August and I have always wondered how discounted the offer really is? Im' sure it changes but has anyone gotten one recently they can share with me what exactly it was? Thanks!

This was the bounceback offer at Beach Club Villas last month (March):

40% off non-discounted price of DVC villas (3-BR grand villas excluded) and deluxe resorts.
All dates were for 2011:
Feb. 1-5
Feb. 13-19
Feb. 27- March 5
May 8-27
May 31 - June 4
August 21 - Oct. 8
Oct. 23-29
Nov. 13-19
Nov. 27 - Dec. 3
Dec. 11-17

Elliefusmom: I went to WDW this past fall after breaking my hand & wrist. It all worked out fine and I had a great vacation. I hope you all have a wonderful time!

Teena: Best wishes for a quick recovery. Looking forward to meeting you in June!

To all going through difficult times, I offer you pixie dust and a group hug. :grouphug:

I believe the bounceback offer that is in the rooms at the YC and BC now are 40% off deluxe resorts. There are black out dates but I believe this one is good through the end of 2011. You MUST book it before you check-out. Once you get home, you can change the dates or cancel it. However, once you check-out, even if you give them your reservation number and say you were just there, they won't allow you to book it.

Bob is convinced she's having a girl and I have visions of little blond girls in princess dresses every time he mentions Peanut being a girl. Jeanne still refuses to know the sex.
NOT knowing would drive me crazy!! I absolutely HAD to know each time and was glad I did. First time was wonderful having a "boy" baby shower. Then decided to have one more and "be done with it". Changed mind when I found out I was having another boy. Last baby was my girl, and the day I found out, me and my mom ran to the store to buy lots of girl clothes. Not that I prefer my girl or anything. It's just more fun buying girl clothes.... princess:

Oh my ... I forgot to post this before I left for the Mayo Clinic. One of the merchandise managers told me something on Sunday that is sooooo wonderful. First, you all need congrats on this ... your writing letters and mostly the exit surveys (the one you do the morning you check out in the lobby of the resort and the other one that some people get sent to them via email or USPS a few weeks after getting home) are the things that did it!!! RESORT SPECIFIC MERCHANDISE IS COMING BACK!

Good job!!! And please remember on the morning you are checking out, please, please, please come down to the lobby between 7 AM and 8 AM and look for the survey people (at the BC they normally stand across from the concierge desk or outside near the airline check-in) and tell them you want to take the exit survey. They make a huge difference. If there is something that you didn't like or something that you did like - here's your chance to be heard. These surveys are gone over with a microscope by everybody. The surveys make a difference!

Teena - playing catch up once again...so glad to hear your path reports are clear and you can go ahead with plan A treatment. :) Take care of yourself.

Also, terrific new about the resort specific merchandise. Connor was looking for a shirt last year and will be happy to hear the merchandise is returning! We did the survey a couple of years ago....good to hear they are listening.

Dear Teena,

So glad that your news is so positive. You light up a lot of lives.

Michelle

I originally had a room booked at Pop (we are normally deluxe stayers!). It kind of scared me but it was affordable and we could make it work. Then I thought of booking POFQ to get the queen beds for us. It's me, DH, DD16 and DD8.
Then this morning when the 30% came out, I got on the phone to see what was available at the Beach Club. The cheapest we could do was a Studio room at the BCV.

we Stayed at the BC last August and LOVED the location. We really are not in our room very much but we love the location. Do you think the queen bed and the pull out will be enough for us? Me and DD16 will get the bed (because I planned this trip afterall) and DH and DD8 will get the pull out. We are not big people. Or small people. Just average I would say.

DD8 and DH can sleep anywhere and are usually asleep within 2 minutes of laying down. Me and DD16 are another story. We don't sleep well.

Will the studio villa be OK for us? I really don't want to move resorts and I love that we can do a deluxe with this discount. I can't imagine the Pop beds being anymore comfortable than a pull out?

Help!

Teena, I'm so happy to hear your pathology reports are positive! Do you mean you are going to work this Sunday? Like in 2 days? Please make sure you aren't pushing too hard. We want you to be rested & recovered when that precious baby arrives!!! :goodvibes

And thanks for the great news about the resort merchandise! We come down every Sept. & have hardly bought anything for the laast seveal years. In years past we always bought resort merchandise. We did get an email survey last year & I made several comments about the lack of variety & resort items. Now I really can't wait to get there & see all the new goodies!! :thumbsup2

I think you'll be fine and happy you are back at the location you love!!

Sigh.... I'm going to have to unsubscribe to this thread.... I switched resorts. We were booked at full price, so I called to see if I could get the new GP discount applied to my ressie at BC, & it was a no go, so I switched to the Poly..... now DH is having some buyers remorse about switching..... oh well. Anyway, I guess you can remove me from the June list here. Maybe next trip we'll stay at Y&BC.....

Yes, I'm planning on going back to work this Sunday and Monday. The managers there are fantastic so if I need to leave early because it's too much, it won't be a problem. I'm doing lots better tonight and I won't take the pain meds until after I get into work and they will be out of my system for the drive home. My surgeon said I could work if I felt up to it.

Thank you for doing the survey ... it really does make a difference. I'm so thrilled about resort specific merchandise coming back. I love my BC t-shirts, etc.

Keep trying ... they seem to release more rooms later on depending on how fast they sell. Call every day!!

Thanks, Teena. I am just getting to read the pages of this thread and reading your story. Sounds like you had a rough going there for awhile, but things are looking up. I need to keep reading, but I'm praying for the best for you! Take Care and see you at the resort in a few weeks!!!

Trying to save some money on our upcoming trip to BCV's in 9 days! :cool1: We always cook the majority of our meals in our villa, with just getting some snacks and maybe a lunch or two in the parks. Anyway, since it has been a while since we have been at BCV's I can't remember if there are any barbeque grills outside there. Would like to cook a couple of steaks or burgers, but would rather do them outside on a grill if I could. If there are grills there, where are they?

Thanks Teena, but I think my dates must be some of the more popular ones, as there does not seem to be much availability at Beach or Yacht Club, even non-discounted rooms. I'll keep my eye on what is available online :surfweb: & perhaps call & check a few times, say right around 45 days out. :rolleyes1

Yep, out past the Villas pool.

I wanted to ask if you defintely compared the villas rate to the regular room rate.

I did today (using the new discount) for our upcoming trip and it was actually just a few more dollars (I recall $40 for 7 nights) for a garden view room at the resort than it would have been for the studio at the villas. If I had selected a standard view, it would have been even close in price.

I have stayed at both and if the price difference is not too much, I would definitely prefer staying in the resort to the villas. You do lose the kitchenette, but you will still have a fridge and the 2 queen beds is much better than the pull out. My young kids both slept on it fine, but I don't think I would want to sleep on it for a week even if I am not a big person. I also thought the beds in the resort were more comfortable than the beds in the villas. Plus the bedding and decor is much nicer.

Just my 2 cents but thought I would throw it out there. We've stayed at Pop too and like it as well, although the beds are smaller. We tend to stay there when we go and won't have much time, if any, to swim due to cooler weather ... but summer time, no doubt Beach Club is a must do.
