I just booked ANOTHER trip - Beach Club Deluxe Room CL!!!! Natebenma Natebenma - where are you?? Please please please add me to the list for 3/23-27!!!

:cool1:

This is beyond exciting!!! :cool1:

Hi All,

Just a first post to say Hi and they we have booked to stay at the Beach Club from 20th - 28th of September 2012. This will be our first trip to WDW and we are visiting for Queensland Australia.

I have started a pre trip report (link in my footer below). We were originally going to start at Port Orleans but after talking with a friend about our trip and reading (especially this thread and many of the past threads) there was no choice but to stay at the Beach Club!

Thanks everyone for contributing to a wonderful online community!

:welcome:

And thanks for the kinds words about the thread.

:woohoo:

We just booked a Bounceback offer and will be staying BC CL Deluxe Room from 8/25-9/1. Super psyched!!!

Amanda

Amanda, I'm so happy to hear this!!!

:banana::banana::banana:

I heard about the AP discounts last night so I looked online & the BC discount is 35% (vs. the 30% I had booked with through the spring room only discount)... but they weren't showing any GV CL rooms available with that discount. So I called... and the CM was able to apply it to my reservation!! Saved another $100! :cool1:

Sorry - no pictures. Yes you could walk right out the patio to the quiet pool and the laundry room. The bushes kind of hide a direct view of the pool though. That room has a lot of windows too - one of the windows has a nice view of Crescent Lake. We loved that room! The only drawback with any of the deluxe cl rooms is that they are not on the same floor as the cl lounge.
Here is what we would do - get completely ready in the morning, head up to the cl lounge and have breakfast. We would leave from there for the parks. Lots of times when we took our afternoon break we would go up to the lounge first (before changing into swimsuits) and get sodas and snacks.
When we were getting ready to go out at night I would usually send DH and one of the kids up to the lounge and they would get a tray with appetizers, glasses of wine and drinks.

HTH.

Sounds like a plan to me LOL!!! Ok, I know this sounds unreasonable, but did you see any snakes around the ground level room? I have a huge phobia of snakes - and I know they're extremely common in FL & WDW. I've always avoided a ground floor room for this very reason (did you guys see the snake thread a few years back - 5-foot snake IN a room at Poly?!?!?! FAINT!) That is my only drawback to requesting this room (and yes I know, a request is only a request!).

OK, I think I have everyone's info updated, but my head is spinning!

Please take a moment to make sure your info on the first page Be Our Guest List is correct. If anything needs to be changed, post here to let me know.

Thanks!

Dee

I can't speak for BC since I haven't stayed there yet, but I remember my first ever trip to WDW we stayed at Shades of Green and I was coming out the side door to meet my sisters over by the pool and I came across a snake. I can't even describe my reaction, but I know I kept walking and got away from there as quick as I good without taking off at a sprint. We did have ground floor rooms and I honestly never gave much thought to one getting in the room. EEK!! But every time I walked out that door, I'd look around. Never saw another one thankfully.

Hi everyone! Well I am so excited! We are heading back down to our favorite place, WDW, in August to celebrate my 40th  birthday! I am excited to be staying at BC for the first time. First time staying at an Epcot area resort too.

I'm sure I will have more questions as it gets closer but here are a few I have so far....
Where IS this secret door I thought I read of? A walk to the pool without the traipse thru the lobby sounds good to me.
We currently have a standard view room booked. Any requests I should put in?
And can anyone direct me to a pic of the daybed made up? I see many pix of it as a sofa, but I'm curious to see what it looks like as a bed.(never mind! Haha! Found it right here!) Also how does that work...if you have a party of 5, do they just leave it made up as a bed for the duration? Do they set it up back n forth? Do you have to make up the bed if you want to use it?

Thanks for any help!

Per links from a few pages ago (okay, more than a few because this thread moves so fast), yes, the resort specific merchandise is at the YC, soon to be at the BC. Did any of you runners see any there last weekend?

Thanks! I did look back about 10 pages before I posted but didn't see anything about it. This thread has been on overdrive, but wouldn't have it any other way! :goodvibes

OMG we are snake phobic too!!!! In fact we were extremely nervous when we first found out we were going to be on the ground floor. All the other deluxe cl rooms were occupied so no chance of switching. We told the cms who were checking us in and they promised to have someone from "maintenance" (read snake catchers) check the area near the room every day. We did actually see them checking and happy to report never saw a snake (at least near our room). We've seen four snakes over the years at Disney - one on Tom Sawyer's Island, one on the loose at the Dig Site in AK, one near the IG at EPCOT and one on the walkway between BC and EPCOT - totally freaked us out each time!!!

I'm so happy to say we are returning to BC for six nights mid-March. DH loves AKL, but DD17 (and I for the most part) love BC. Since we think it will be our last trip together for a while (college in the fall), we let DD have her way. This will be our second stay. Last year we did a split stay so were there only three nights. So looking forward to returning and catching up on the BC posts.

Just to be clear - that's four snakes in 14 trips!

We're extra lucky and have never seen a snake in 30 yrs of resort stays - about 50 stays over those years! Nope, not one snake....but we have seen the occasional rat (3 in 30 yrs)...never at BC or YC though.:thumbsup2

If you would like to be added to the BOG list (look, now I'm even abbreviating it), please let us know the dates of your trip.

The secret door is a way to get into and out of the BC quicker when you are coming and going from EPCOT. You can be inside (in airconditioning or to keep dry if it is raining) without having to walk all the way to or from the lobby on the outside pathway. Detailed info in the BC post on Page 1.

We have also heard rumors of a secret door at YC and we have an investigative team assigned to the mission of finding, photographing and describing this exit/entrance to the resort.

Does anyone have a spiffy way to get to SAB without going through the lobby? Pulling this off may depend on where your room is located.

I have never been in a room with a daybed, so others will have to share their experiences with you.

I haven't seen any rats, but you would not believe the size of the mice running rampant all over the World. They are everywhere!

(sorry, it had to be said)

I didn't intentionally ignore this question. I was waiting for MM to chime in but she was uncharacteristically quiet yesterday. So I will add her very important advice below.

~ Bring a CONTAINER or CHUG the REMAINDER !! ~

Late breaking tip from pixarmom: Use your refillable mug for the slushie. Pop on the lid. Insert straw. Enjoy!

"Uncharacteristically quiet" Now there's a phrase that would describe me to a T! Ol' Martlon Mom has been exercising her buns off trying to get in shape for her trip. Yesterday she spent 30 minutes on the Nordic Trak (Ja!Ja! I'll take an Aquavit with my Cloudberry Horn!!) and 55 minutes walking. Then I did the sprint to pick up DS from School, hit the supermarket and then tried to make a dinner that didn't involve something microwavable (settled for ravioli!). I was so tired I was in bed by 8pm, beating even the venerable Dee, who is in her footy pajamas, lights out by 8:01.

I think the only 'snake' that's left hangs around the Boardwalk. ;)

And we'll have film at 11 on Earwitness News!

Dee and MM, you are cracking me up! And believe me, I need a laugh today. Our precious 14 1/2 year old doggie died today. :sad1: I am devastated but am sick to my stomach waiting for the kids to come home to tell them. They are going to be completely torn to pieces. They adore the dog.

Send some positive thoughts my way, if you have any to spare.

Although I was originally planning on May 2013 I've gone ahead and booked the BC for December THIS year, 1st through to the 8th :woohoo: - so excited :dance3:
