We've been here since early 2004 and I saw ten times more snakes in Pennsylvania than I've seen here at our house (huge field and lake across the street from us) and at WDW. I remember once when I was on the riding lawn mower in Pennsylvania and a huge snake came out from under some brush. I totally panicked and drove the lawn mower into a tree. Bob mowed the lawn after that. Smart move on my part!

Teena! OMG! You drove the riding mower into a tree - sounds like something I'd do! What part of PA? I'm in NE PA, and we have a ton of snakes around here. It hasn't warmed me up to them at all.

OMG we are snake phobic too!!!! In fact we were extremely nervous when we first found out we were going to be on the ground floor. All the other deluxe cl rooms were occupied so no chance of switching. We told the cms who were checking us in and they promised to have someone from "maintenance" (read snake catchers) check the area near the room every day. We did actually see them checking and happy to report never saw a snake (at least near our room). We've seen four snakes over the years at Disney - one on Tom Sawyer's Island, one on the loose at the Dig Site in AK, one near the IG at EPCOT and one on the walkway between BC and EPCOT - totally freaked us out each time!!!

I and a little ring neck snake surprised each other on a walkway at POFQ. They are harmless and of course I did not have my camera, but still it could have been worse, it could have been a gator.:scared1:

Now that's another story. I've seen lots of gators up close and too personal!

Hello BC/YC fans!

First, Feckless, sorry for your loss.

Amanda, congrats! Great news regarding your return to BC!

Robyn, our little guy wanted BC again this morning. I had to mention you, Dee and Sue and he was back on board with YC for April.

Dee, love the grey goose slushie post! You know how much I love the refill mug slushie! My April dilemma is this: 1) Check into POFQ; 2) Go to Epcot and purchase APs and TIW; 3) drink GG slushie; 4) return to POFQ and purchase refill mug with TIW card for discount. Wait! That's out of order! I think I'll have to give up my TIW discount at the POFQ food court (one of the few CS locations that takes TIW) to bring the mug for the slushie.

Speaking of slushies, my mom consumed one for me last week. Her response: "Too much slushie, too little grey goose." Pretty funny for mom - although she's a funny lady in addition to being a great mom. Teena, I'm trying to get her back to BC for another visit with you - she asks about you often.

So an opinion question for BC/YC fans: I've decided not to book CL at YC this time. We're really sold on CL, but it would be $100 more/night for just the two of us. In August, we paid $80 more/night at both BC and BWI for CL for the five of us - more than worth it! But $100 for the two of us - I'm just not sure about that. (Although it would really save me if he fell asleep early and I needed something to eat or drink!) So at this point, I have two breakfasts to cover at YC and I know one will be BC Marketplace. The other, I'm thinking Captain's Grill or Cape May. I've been to both for breakfast, so I'm familiar with them, but it's been a while. I feel like we need to get in a TS breakfast because he's a breakfast guy. On the other hand, I usually drink coffee (and occasionally eat some bacon) for breakfast, so Cape May really isn't the best value . . . but the characters . . . What do you all think?

Feckless, sorry to hear about the loss.

I still owe Teena a trip report.

i am hoping to head back again during the holidays in 2012 (part of honeymoon i hope) anyone up for beers around the world? I know this has been asked before, but, when do Osbourne lights start? Are there dates for Mickeys christmas party yet :P

I had a cast member tell me I was nuts for wanting to go to 3 Mickey parties. (I am a sucker for Xmas fireworks)

Harrisburg area.

Small world. My entire family is 45 min. north of Harrisburg!

I'm adding "Meet Teena" on my list of "new things to do this trip!"

Pixarmom - I know I'm not a regular on this board (ok I'm a regular lurker!), but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. We are HUGE fans of Captain's Grille breakfast buffet - have you eaten there before? We've never stayed at YC, yet we make it a priority to go there for the breakfast buffet every trip. It's only $16 for adults - much cheaper than Cape May, and the service has always been great. Your DH can get the buffet & you can order ala carte if you're not a big breakfast girl.

Thank you guys SO MUCH for the love and support. This is a truly awesome group of people. To answer your questions, yes, the doggie was old and extremely feeble. We knew the day was coming but we just wanted to get through Christmas and she gave us that gift. I finished taking down and storing away all the decorations on Sunday, so hopefully this won't be associated with Christmas for the kids. Of course, #1 on my DDs Santa list was an anti-aging serum for Emma and on my DS's, it was for Emma to live forever. :(. Their hearts are broken but I think we handled it as well as we could. They have smiled and laughed tonight, and we have all cried a lot as well. I'm keeping them home from school in the morning just to grieve and get their heads on straight. We have box seats with food and drink for the local AHL hockey team tomorrow night so that should perk them up a bit.

Thanks again. I can't tell you what your messages meant to me.

Hey Tara! Thanks so much for the response! Yes, I have been to Captain's Grille and Cape May before, and I do like them both. I realized my post made it look like I'm traveling with my husband, but actually it's our youngest son (5 years old!) and me. I like the ala carte option - it's such a good value for the two of us - just wondering if I should go with Cape May for characters for our 5yo. Really good to hear that you enjoy Captain's Grille - it's been a while since we've been there, so the recent reports are really helpful!

Are they the ones on Bob's shirts??.... 'cause you know what a "preppy" he is. ;)

Feckless: I'm glad things went as well as they could with the kids. I know it's no consolation but hopefully soon you guys will be giving kisses to somebody new that needs you. We can always keep the old dog in our hearts and now that she has moved on she made room for somebody else to love you. Dogs are always so good at sharing love and happiness.

We saw one while visiting the Coronado Springs resort. Little but still scary.
As far a snakes we have them here in Kansas City. Found a copperhead baby in our yard. Yuck!!

Dee and MM, you are cracking me up! And believe me, I need a laugh today. Our precious 14 1/2 year old doggie died today. :sad1: I am devastated but am sick to my stomach waiting for the kids to come home to tell them. They are going to be completely torn to pieces. They adore the dog.

Send some positive thoughts my way, if you have any to spare.

Feckless... So sorry for your loss. Glad the kids smiled some tonight. Having lost my ferret in October (and yes he was the best.. We called him our dog) I feel what you are going through. Things will get better and you have all the memories!!

Enjoy the game tomorrow!!

~Nannette

Pixarmom - I agree with non CL for just the two of you. CL for five is definitely a good value. We are going non CL this year (boo hoo) but I'm just thrilled that we are able to get back to BC!!!

I think with just the two of you I would pick Captain's Grill over Cape May if you are not that big of a breakfast eater. Now CMB is one of our favorite breakfast buffets but I wouldn't spend that much if we weren't in the mood for a big breakfast!

If you have a gv room at YC request one near the wedding gazebo. It gives you a nice sideways view of Crescent Lake and the marina!

Do you remember the room number? We were just to the left of the port cochiere (sp???) thingy, but we couldn't see the buses arrive because of the big tree that blocked our forward view.

I don't remember -- but we were just to the left of the main bank of elevators (facing out to the parking lot) so we were nearly dead center of main entrance (we didn't stay CL that time). We definitely couldn't see any fireworks from our room due to the angle of building.

Regardless -- I like playing the room view lottery so I'll hope for your view but be intrigued with what's out there!!

Feckless :sad1: So sorry for your loss. Our dogs are so much a part of our family, it is devastating when they pass on. :grouphug:

One of Mike's missions during his recent Marathon trip was to scope out the YC Resort Merchandise. As you will see, he done good!

Mike- was this all at Fittings and Fairings, the YC gift shop?

We still haven't heard an ETA on BC stuff.

I have added this series to the BC Marketplace Thread (found in the Resort Picture Forum) and I have put a link to this post on the front page of this thread (under the Fittings and Fairings info)

Thanks, again!

Love, love, love the YC merchandise! Hopefully they'll be similar to the new BC merchandise. If not I'll just go over to YC, after all they are sister resorts!

Mike: Thanks for the photos of the YC merchandise. LOVE all of it. Looks like I'll need to bring lots of spending $$ and an extra suitcase to bring all the goodies home.
