I'm going back in time reading about BC. Thinking of staying CL and noticed that you had a hard time with availability. How far out were you trying to book? My family keeps going back and forth between BC and BWI, and I'm afraid we're going to miss our window. We are going October 2011 which is 9 months, but in Disney time that's pretty soon!

She may have had a problem because there were 5 members in her family, so the choices of rooms were limited to ones with a daybed. Disney will only put 5 people in a room that will sleep 5!

What I can't remember if she had booked on a discount. So it may have been a case of no CL rooms, sleeping 5, with the discount. But I can't totally recall if that was the case.

I just had to post a picture of my new count down banner.

Notice that Mickey is moving away from the "dark side" and TOWARDS Beach Club!!!! :p :p :p

Jus' kiddin!

I've had many many meals at the Milmarian. My brother owns the bar down the street from it, Park Tavern. Do you know it?

No but we'll have to check it out if they serve food. Here is a link to Yelp where people post reviews about places. The reviews are pretty good! :thumbsup2

Is it the kind of place where a family of 3 (2 adults plus a 12 year old child) can come and get something to eat and Dad can have a beer while Mom drives?

For those of you in need, Garden grocer does carry distilled water. Distilled water is needed for use in C-Pap machines for people with sleep apnea.

I know that there is no way we could have brought down the 2 gallons that my DH needs by airplane. I can just hear homeland security now.... "step away from the Water Sir!

Another problem SOLVED!!! :thumbsup2

Teena we are booked in a deluxe room, but I think my DH would rather be on the same floor as the lounge. It looks like that is LV club level-correct? I don't mind to pay the bit extra, but do you know about daybeds in those rooms? We would really like a daybed and a full balcony.

The lounge is on the fifth floor as well as standard, garden and water view club level rooms. Some have two queens and some have two queens and a daybed and a very few have king beds. Most of the rooms on the fifth floor have full balconies ... there are only eight rooms on the fifth floor that don't. Some of the rooms on the fifth floor (like around 5726) are further away from the lounge than the deluxe club level rooms on the other floors. If you want close to the lounge and book a regular (not deluxe) club level room, no matter what category (water, garden or standard), make your request "close to lounge". Keep in mind, the closer you are to the lounge, the closer you are to the noise in and around the lounge.

No, you don't want to go there for the food. It's strictly a neighborhood bar!

Can we be added to the list of DISers in March?

pfsedita BC 3/11 to 3/16
me, DH, DS (10) and DS (7)

We arrive on my 7 year old's 6th "gotcha day" celebrating his official adoption from Russia! THe last time I spent so much time on a board was waiting to go back to get him...

I just can't stay away from this thread!!! Ever since we decided to move our vacation to June to be able to stay at BC and use SAB, DD and I are constantly checking out this thread :lmao:

I go to sleep thinking about it, I wake up thinking about it!! It makes no sense that we are both more excited about the trip even though it's 3 months longer away than it was before????

I even check the photo thread praying and hoping someone will post new pics.

Magical Express Question

We are using Magical Express only one direction - from the Beach Club back to the airport. We're flying Southwest Airlines. We will also need to check-in online 24hrs before our flight, but won't have internet access ourselves. How will all of this work? Do we go to the front desk right at the 24hr mark and ask someone there to check us in online? Is Southwest Airlines one of the airlines participating in the program where we won't have to personally check our bags ourselves?

Please forgive my ignorance, but we usually rent a car, so this is new to us. Thank you! :goodvibes

If you go to the concierge desk in the lobby just before the 24 hour mark with your southwest confirmation number, they will check you in and print your boarding pass for you. We did that with no problem.

I don't know if they do resort airline check-in from the Beach Club for Southwest, but they were testing it at the Polynesian when we were there last year. I think I would ask about that at the concierge desk or at check-in.

Southwest participates at the BC ... I think they will also check you in ahead of time through the airline check-in. The airline check-in desk (out the front door and to the right) is open 5 AM to 1 PM. On your way to the bus stop one morning, stop by and talk to them about the process.

Hi CJK!

I know that you already received some answers, but I wanted to add that we did exactly this last July at BC!

BC helped us with on-line check-in for Southwest. We just called down to the front desk the day before our flight (a little over 24 hours before.) The front desk said they could check us in and print our boarding passes, and told us to stop by at any time to pick up the boarding passes. When we stopped by the front desk on the morning of our departure, they had everything ready to go for our evening flight. We didn't need to go to the airline check-in desk at the front AND they secured boarding zone A for all of us. I was really happy about that because it was our first experience with Southwest and I was concerned about the ability to check-in 24 hours in advance without easy access to a computer and printer - but the BC front desk took care of everything! Not sure if this is standard procedure at BC, but it was great.

It was a little different at the Poly earlier this month, so I don't know if the process varies by resort or airline. At Poly, I asked whether we could do this over the phone and pick up boarding passes at the front desk like we did at BC for Southwest, but the process was different at Poly for Airtran. To check in, we needed to go down to the airline check-in desk in the front of the resort on the morning of our flight.

Hope that helps! :wizard:

Hi all!
I'm very excited to have found this board. I consider myself a Disney "freshman" - I went once when I was in 3rd grade and once at 30 and it was great. DH and I just booked our first trip as a family. We finally felt the kids were old enough to really enjoy it there. We have two 6 year olds and a 7 year old and will be staying at the BC the second week of May.

I really took my time in trying to figure where to stay with our family. I read hundreds of reviews on Trip Advisor and just felt people had so many positive things to say about the BC and the pirate water slide won my kids over.

Anyways, we are sitting in 3 feet of snow up here in New England so I can't wait for some Florida sun. I just wanted introduce myself. I'm slowly trying to read ALL the messages on this thread, but it may be near impossible

Welcome! I hope you love BC as much as we do! I think it's pretty tough to read through the whole thread at once, so feel free to go ahead and ask questions if you have any! :wizard:
