This is such a happy report! I'm so happy for you and your family! Do you mind sharing more about what changed your mind about returning to Disney? And what did you like about YC over BC?

P.S. We love the "beat the boat" game!

We had a few bad experiences at a couple of the Disney hotels so we said this would be our last visit. At the YC, the staff was awesome and went out of their way several times to help my family with a few problems. The staff was also always friendly and never made me feel that I was intruding or asking for too much.

The reason I like YC over BC is the decor. I thought it was nicer and I also liked the lobby at the YC over the BC lobby.

I have a few questions :goodvibes

For CL, we check-in at the CL desk, not online before, correct?

What beer & wine are they offering these days? Drinks for kids?

How were the food offerings?

Is the YC CL also trying out being open 24 hours? My DH is an early riser and needs his coffee before 7am.

Thanks in advance! I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful trip!

We drove down to Disney so we pulled up to the front and told the guy we were club level and our name. He told us someone will be right now to get our bags and take us to the room. A min. later someone was taking our luggage out of the car and taking us upstairs to CL. We went straight to our room dropped off the stuff. He then took us to the lounge and explained everything to us and got us something to drink. He told us when we were ready the someone at the front desks can check us in. We did not do online check in.

I mostly drank the beer. They have seasonal Sam Adams ( when we left the changed to the october beer), India Pale Ale (loved this beer), Bud light - I can't remember what else. I tried the red wine and didn't like it, so I just drank the beer. I do know they had two red bottles out and two white bottles.

For kids, the had coke, sprite, ginger ale, milk, diet coke and chocolate milk, soy milk, water, tea, hot tea, regular coffee, cappuccino machine, hot chocolate, apple juice and lemonade.

I can't remember when they offered what, but they had - duck quesadilla, meat filled dumplings, spring rolls, lobster salad, chicken (I can't remember what else ). They always had veggies, peanut butter and jelly, rolls, bread, ranch dressing, and some sort of hummus dip or pesto dip. The sun-dried tomato dip was great!

In the afternoon they had yogurt pretzels, spicy trail mix, regular trail mix, swedish fish and sugar or chocolate chip cookies.

For sweets at night they had raspberry something (very yummy), a cheesecake, oreo cookie cake (the best thing there) and cupcakes.

Before they cleared any food, the staff always asked if anyone wanted anything or needed anything.

The lounge is small, but we never had a problem with it being crowded. The staff constantly cleaned the tables and replaced the food. The lounge was open 24 hours and people did use it all hours of the night.

This is our second time staying club level. Our first time was several years ago at Wilderness Lodge and YC blew them away.

Hope that helps!

So the lounge is open 24 hrs?! Where did I miss that?!:yay: This will work well for me after the Wine and Dine 1/2 ..just wonder what, if any offerings are out all night??? ** ETA..drinks and snacks that are offered during the afternoon...trail mix, yougurt pretzels etc***

We'll be at YC CL in December so I'm really looking forward to hearing all about your stay when you return. Have a great trip!
Thanks so much:goodvibes We stayed YC CL Labor Day 07 and had THE best time..the CM's were wonderful! You will hear about it:thumbsup2 And I will take some photos too!!

Here is the pic of the new lounge chairs, i have more on my phone that I will post. They also have the same style but that are more like chairs but still recline around the pool and regular chairs at all the tables including those on the porches and near beaches & cream.

Thanks for the photo:cool2: Like 'em better!

I'm at YC. Need me to take pics or check anything out let me know. Leave Thursday AM. Hope to stop by to see Teena today. I'm at a conference so breaks are short.

Great room. 1069. View of SAB. Step out and look left I can see gazebo. Look right see lagoon

So hard to believe I'm here and coming back in just a month with family to BC!!

We're checking in tomorrow afternoon. See you there! :goodvibes

Last night I had a dream that we went to check out the BC before our stay in Jan. I ended up on a bus to the MK and when I finally got back, they had given my dh a room for the night to apologize for me getting 'stuck on the bus'!! The room was nice as was the view!

Then I woke up:sad1:

This is what I get for being on this board right before bed!

CL garden view rooms....what do they really look at? Debating on whether or not to give up our water view room to go to CL. Difference is minimal, but the view may be a deal breaker!

I'll be lounging in one of these beautiful chairs on Saturday afternoon! I'm so excited I can't stand it.

Thanks so much GottaluvPluto! An IPA or Sam Adams Octoberfest sounds great right about now...

BTW, my 3 year old has a major Pluto crush!

Roof, parking lot, garden or courtyard are what you will get. For me it would be no contest. If I could stay club level garden view which really means a good chance of a yucky view over non-club level water view, I'd go with the CL yucky view any day. That's my personal opinion. The only time I look at the view from my room is when I walk in when we first get there. After that, I'm normally in the room to sleep (curtains closed), shower (curtains closed), change clothes (curtains closed). The food and drink well make up for a guaranteed nice view!!! Just my opinion mainly because you said the difference in price is minimal!!!

I just wanted to comment on our stay at the YC this past Aug. we had a split stay btw the YC and CSR. This was our first time staying at the YC, we have stayed at the BC years ago, which was also a great stay. But, we fell in love with the YC. Everything was perfect!!! We booked a std room and got a waterview upgrade which was a wonderful surprise. The rooms were beautiful and we loved the lobby area, it was so nautical and classy, but not too stuffy..just right imo.

The cast members there were the best that I have ever experienced! From check in to check out, to bell services...well everyone...they were just spectacular! I cannot wait to be able to stay there again in the future. :cloud9:

Does anybody get upgraded to a CL just on request/ or for the asking? We are staying in a Villa; wife and a 2+5 year old. THought the extra space would be nice. WOuldn't mind it if they could upgrade us to a CL, that way if I can't sleep I can go munch & hang out in there plus it would be handy at B'fast time!

Also, do people choose the villa over food plan because it's faster/easier and then end up barely using the kitchen?

Our last trip we rented points and stayed at WL, got groceries delivered and ended up throwing so much out at the end of the trip! :sad2: We got mostly breakfast and snack items, but had lots of character meals planned and just didn't seem like we were ever hungry! We also had a studio so there wasn't a full kitchen, that may have made a difference, but I personally would only use the kitchen for coffee, maybe bfast and snacks. I'm on vaca and if I'm not camping, I'm not cooking!!

You are talking about two different resorts. If you are booked in a Villa, you are in the Beach Club Villas. There is no CL there. The CL is at the Beach Club.

If you were booked at the Beach Club in a regular room, as for requesting or asking for a free upgrade, I do not recommend that. One of the surest ways of not getting an upgrade is to ask or request a free one. Now if you are willing to pay for the upgrade, by all means when you get to the front desk, say, "I was wondering if a club level room was available and if so, what the price difference would be to change to a CL room."

If you really want a CL room, then call your travel agent or Disney Travel (however you made your reservation) and ask them for the price difference and then change your reservation if you are satisfied with the price. Lots of time when you sit down and figure out the cost of breakfasts, snacks, beer, wine, etc. that you get on CL, people decide it actually saves them money by booking CL.

Met Teena today ... briefly. She's as nice in person as she is on the boards. Definitely stop by to say hinif you can.

Saw illuminations for first time tonight. Love it. And walk back to YC so nice!

If the difference is minimal and you can go without the water view, I would go for club level! My family was in BC room 5712 in August which I think may be considered roof view. It looked out over the front of the resort and down below was a roof (the parking lot was pretty much blocked by all the trees), but we liked our standard view. To the right we had a view of the villas and Spaceship earth (beautiful at night too) and to the left in a distance we could see the MK fireworks. It was great! Plus you have all the food options.

Teena... I am hoping you see this and have a chance to answer.

My DH just discovered he has to have some surgery when we get back from our trip and in the meantime we have decided the best way for him to enjoy this trip is to have a scooter. He is able to walk and will do so except when getting from the resort to Epcot and traveling through the World Showcase for the Food & Wine Festival, etc. He won't be riding any buses on this trip so that is not an issue.

We have already taken care of the scooter rental but I wondered if we need to let the BC staff know this? We don't need a handicap accessible room and our requests for location have not changed. But I did wonder if this was an issue that needed to be addressed before his arrival.

And I just got butterflies in my stomach when I saw my ticker! :goodvibes

No, you are good to go. When you get there, the scooter key will be at the valet desk. You must keep and recharge your scooter in your room at night. Reason being that if you park the scooter out front of the BC (where they drop them off) and plug it in there to recharge, what happens is someone will come up after you charge yours, unplug yours and plug their scooter in. People do this lal the time and then you come out in the morning to get your scooter and find it not charged.

I recommend Walker Mobility. They are very reliable. Also, make sure you tell them your husband's size (height and weight) so they give him one that is appropriate for his size. You may also want to consider adding the awning to it for shade. Some of the rental outfits send scooters that would barely work for a tiny little woman for a man that is 250 pounds and is over 6 foot.

The resort doesn't care if you have a scooter or not ... we just want you to keep it in your room overnight to charge so there won't be upset guests in the morning when they go and discover their scooter were unplugged.

Thank you for your quick response, Teena!

The appropriate scooter is already ordered but knowing where the key as well as the scooter will be is terrific. As for keeping it in the room... He will need it to get from the room to wherever we are going. I cannot imagine leaving it outside at the front of the resort!?! Unfortunately I can imagine other guests unplugging one that was already there to take care of their own. Some people think this world is all about them.
