We're arriving tomorrow night. We have 3 little kids: DS 6, DD 4, and DS 2. My older 2 kids are about the same size even though they're 2 years apart. My name's Amanda and I'm 5'2" with shoulder-length brown hair. My DH is 6'4" and is Tom. I made little lime green Mickey ears for my purse, the diaper bag, and the strollers (we'll have 2 strollers: a double and a single).

Amanda

I'll be on the lookout for those lime green Mickey ears, for sure. :sail:
I don't have the Mickey ears, but my canvas tote bag that I carry with me is covered with bright Mickey heads. People always comment about it. And, Dh's backpack says Castaway Cay. Now I'm sure we can find each other! We are having dinner at Cape May next Thursday at 5:30. And we are planning on spending that afternoon by the pool.

Can't believe I have another beds question but here goes ... Are there any king bed rooms available on Yacht Club club level?

We're a family of three and, while our preschooler does not sleep with us at home, he usually does (best intentions aside) when we're on the road and we all fit comfortably into a king bed, which is what we have at home. My husband is afraid we'll end up sleeping in separate beds (one with kid, one alone) with two queens and we were also thinking a king room, if available, would give us more floor space.

There are a very few but you can't book one, you can only request one and it's a long shot that you would get it since there are so few.

Thanks again Teena. You're amazing!

So, I guess it can't hurt to ask, right? I don't have any other room requests, since I'm not expecting anything special with our view. We're "garden" so I'm hoping that means no dumpster overlooks :). Actually, my only fear (which is more important than the bed), is that we'll be near a smoking area. I hate, HATE, H-A-T-E cigarette smoke and am very sensitive to it. (My husband also has asthma, though it's not terribly serious.) Is that something I need to worry about?

No, definitely add the request of king bed onto your reservation if that's what you want.

The number of smoking areas are very very limited. I wouldn't worry. And if someone is smoking where they shouldn't be, just report it. I chase people off the back porch at the BC all the time.

Good Afternoon :goodvibes
I have been on the WDW site looking at the views available for my trip....currently booked Garden View....for about another $180.00 I can upgrade to a water view. I know in Feb the views will be you get what you pay for (probably much easier for the room-booking ppl! ) that's a good thing.
I am wondering what good waterviews there are (are there any views looking over the boardwalk??) Which water view request would be best to add if I decide to move to water view classification? (Is Stormalong Bay view/Boardwalk/crescent lake all on the same side of the blg??)
Any ideas to help me with the view selection would be greatly appreciated....or should I stop second-guessing and just stick with garden view?? :confused3
Thanks for the ideas! :goodvibes

Amanda - have a magical trip!

I'm already planning next year's BC Summer trip- that's the only way I can deal with BC withdrawl!

Robyn, I haven't even taking my trip to the BC yet and am already pondering when we will be able to go back. I am hoping my hubby has such a wonderful time this September that he'll let me book another trip for the summer of 2011.;)

Haha same here. I've never even stayed at the YC/BC yet! First stay will be October, but I know DD and I are going to love it so I booked Thanksgiving 2011 Monday!! Sure hope we love it now!!

Thanks Robyn!
I already have a January trip planned (but staying CL at Poly) so I don't have to worry about too much withdrawal! :lmao:

Does anybody know what kind of beer they offer in the CL lounge?

I know beer was talked about on the previous thread but I did a search and it didn't mention what kind.

I remember Dh drinking LongHammer and Sam Adams beer.

HTH!

Have a great trip!

We have a Feb. trip planned but if we're not at BC I go through BC/YC withdrawl.

You did make a good decision though. DH has run the WDW marathon three times and we always stayed at either GF or the Poly because being on a monorail resort really was the easiest for both the runner and the families. The kids and I would take the monorail over to MK, watch dh run through MK, and then hop on the monorail back over to EPCOT to watch him run through the finish line.

Pick July so we can have another great Dis meet!

Just a few short hours and we will be checking in at the YC :cool1:

Sitting in the airport waiting for our flight to leave :banana::banana:

OK Amanda, you and I need to talk about that January trip at the Poly. I'll see you tomorrow (doesn't that sound wonderful!!)

We will be at the BC in less than 48 hours:cool1: It's our first trip without the kids. We can't wait. I have always wanted to stay at the BC but got overruled by the monorail resorts for the kids. I am really looking forward to walking to Epcot and strolling the boardwalk and just lounging around. Can't wait! I'll let you know how it is when I get back. :lovestruc

That's exactly what I was thinking. My mom is 72 and has emphysema. She pretends that she's young and healthy but she struggles. I want to make things easy for her!

I can't wait Teena! Although we may arrive too late to see you tomorrow (we land at 5:50pm so I'm assuming you'll be home before DME gets us to BC). I'll definitely see you on Sunday!!! :yay::yay::yay:
