Time keeps rolling along and the list keeps getting longer. Any one else want to add their name to the roll-call?

I've read that because Yacht & Beach Club are convention hotels, there's a charge to have stuff sent there. We are staying at the Villas - does this also count as a convention hotel with a charge, or is it different? If there is a charge, is it for every package that arrives, or is it one charge for the guest to come and retrieve them all?

Thanks Katesdad for keeping us all up-to-date and organized. I'm curious what all of the Dec. people think is the "real" possibility of swimming in SAB during our Dec. trips? This is our first trip and I probably shouldn't have, but I showed my daughters pics of SAB and of course the are super excited.
Oh, am I ever going to be in trouble if it's too cold! Also, anyone want to tell about their ADR's??? Here's mine to get us started:

Dec. 3- Arrive 5:30p.m.- Check in BC- Beaches and Cream or the new Mexican res. in EPCOT for Illuminations if I can get it!

Dec. 4 - Cape May (Breakfast)- DTD, Swim at SAB, 1900 Park Fare(Dinner) and watch Wishes on Beach at Poly.

Dec. 5- EPCOT- Teppan Edo(Lunch), Le Cellier (Dinner)

Dec. 6- MK- Chef Mickey's(Breakfast), Pirates League 3:15, Wishes Cruise from Contem. 6:30; O'hana (Dinner)

Dec. 7 - AK- Boma- 5:50, Movie on the Beach at BC ??

Dec. 8- MK-Crystal Palace(8:15), BBB (11:30), CRT (1:15)

Dec. 9- Rest Day- SAB, Massages for DH and Me :cool1:
Fantasmic 6:30

Dec. 10- HS- 50's Prime Time (Lunch), Boardwalk/Movie on the Beach
at BC (evening)

Dec. 11- Flight leaves later in the evening so maybe DTD or EPCOT
Tutto Italia (Lunch)

Great question! I know in the past Teena has instructed to mail items directly to the Yacht or Beach Club to avoid the ($10) pickup fee. I'm not sure if this applies to the villas too, or what address you should use, or if you should mail your items to the Beach Club.

Teena is working today, so she won't be able to respond or confirm until much later tonight or tomorrow. Once I have the correct info I will post it to the front page.

Here are the instructions for mailing items to YC or BC

Disney's Beach Club Resort (or Disney's Beach Club Villas)
1800 Epcot Resort Boulevard
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830
Please give to Guest, (name on reservation)
Check-in date 9/1/10

or

Disney's Yacht Club Resort
1700 Epcot Resort Boulevard
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830
Please give to Guest, (name on reservation)
Check-in date 9/1/10

Mail by United States Postal Service, not anything else!!! If you mail other than USPS, they (the shipping department) will charge the recipient a handling charge.

So the pick-up fee doesn't apply if stuff is shipped directly to the hotel's address, vs some central Disney address? I had been planning to send it directly to the hotel's address anyway, as we do when we stay anywhere else. We are from outside the U.S., and like to shop online in the weeks leading up to any trip and have the stuff sent to our hotel - cuts down on the amount of actual shopping time we need to put aside while in the U.S..

Good tip about using USPS.

We ordered a double stroller from Amazon and had it shipped directly to Yacht & Beach Club. We were staying at the Villas. We had to walk over to the convention center to pick up our package and we were charged $10 (the fee is based on weight). I will say that the man working the package center was fabulous. He helped us open the box, assemble the stroller, and he took care of the garbage for us. Really, really nice person. My DH gave him a tip for helping us so much and he seemed genuinely surprised.

I would like to surprise DH and DD(4) with something in the room like chocolate covered strawberries, etc. Who should I contact to do this? any suggestions other than that? Anyone do this before? Thank you for your help!

OK - I am only on page 35 of this thread - but patiently reading through it!
I'll try to continue to get to the more current info (like a post listing October dates for people and the info on the buttons)

But I just couldn't wait any longer before asking my room location question. ;)I think the most important element of room location for us will be close to the Epcot walkway.

We are there during the F&W festival this October - and we have park hoppers - so I am thinking we might go over there several evenings to try out some special treats. Maybe even a glass of wine to sip and walk :thumbsup2

I believe we just put a request for a quiet location on our reservation when we made it. Would we be better asking for a location "near" Epcot or with a view of Epcot?

Also - do they give rooms with daybeds out when there are only 4 in a room? Or are there few enough of them that it is unlikely they will be available. Could we add that to our request? (yes - I know it is only a request - not a guarantee).
My dds can sleep together - but one is a "kicker" and if they could be separate it would be better.

Also - did I read that even if you do online check-in - you should go to the regular check-in line to see where your room is and to see if there are any other possibilities if your requests weren't met?

I am VERY excited to be here - and so happy we booked as soon as I heard about the free dining dates. We have only been once before as a family - stayed at the Poly 4 years ago. But my dh and I have been to the BW several times when he had conferences there. I really did not like the layout of the BW - but LOVED being able to walk to Epcot and just the whole atmosphere of the area. I think the BC might be my dream resort! :yay:

So that means if you do some kind of water/grocery delivery you WOULD have to pay the fee?

Here's the latest on the October trips.

Eeyore70 -- are you staying at BC or YC or BCV?

PNO4TE BC 10/1-10/10
ShelleyLynn BCV 10/1-10/10
I Believe BC CL 10/2-10/9
Nannette YC 10/7-10/11
Misled BC 10/11-10/17
Eeyore70 10/17-10/23
Jlhay BC 10/27-11/2

Hope everyone at the World is having a great time!!

Well - I found one of these - maybe there are more later - but I start skipping pages ;)

We will be at the BC from 10/22 - 10/30 -but we leave VERY early in the morning 10/30 - so that day really doesn't count :sad1:

My parents are going during F&W with my aunt and uncle, but I couldn't get them to stay at BC for that trip - which I think will be absolutely perfect for F&W!!!

So I'll give your questions a try, but anyone please correct me if I don't have it right.

1) Last March, we had a room (3512) that was as close to EPCOT as I think you could possibly get - just walked down the stairs next to our room and we were on the path and moments away from the International Gateway. It's not a good idea to request a particular room, so I would have described that as "close to EPCOT."

2) I understand it's possible to get a daybed with 4 people, but not as likely as if you had 5 in your party and, therefore, needed the daybed. I've also learned from this thread that the more requests you put on a reservation, the more difficult it will be for BC to satisfy them all. So when we made a request for our July trip, it was just "full balcony, please" and nothing else. So whether you request the daybed might depend on how much you really want the other request - close to EPCOT. If you have multiple requests, I think Teena has suggested listing them in order of importance.

3) Teena has advised that on-line check-in is for those who will just take their keys and go. That was us in July for a short trip. But when we go for a week next February, we'll do regular check-in in the regular check-in line. Here's why: If your requests are so important to you that you would want to change rooms to get them, do the regular check-in and go to the regular check-in line. So for a short trip, we'd be happy with anything and wanted to grab the keys and go. For a longer trip, we might want to talk with the CM about what other rooms might become available later in the day.

Have a great time!!!

If you order from garden grocer, you will NOT pay the fee. That gets delivered to bell services and then they'll bring it to your room.

Anything that's sent UPS or Fed-ex goes to the convention center.

After I posted this - I saw an older post with a video link. The beds looked BIG! I think we will be able to get by without the daybed - so I won't bother to ask for that.

Good - I am glad I was remembering what I read - I first started reading through the thread before this one - but decided I would never be able to catch up - I think it was there I read about the regular check-in line.

OK - I think I will ask our TA to change our request to - quiet room, close to Epcot. I will wait a few more days to see if I get any other responses for better wording.

Thanks! It is something we have never done before - and I don't know if we really need it this time. We might get by with just a Brita filter for water - we have to take quite a few pills in our family - and I can barely stand the taste of the tap water!

It does make a difference in whether it would be worth it - add another $10 to the existing delivery fee and you really might be better off just buying bottles of water individually!

I would only do it if we would be getting some breakfast items as well - and I haven't quite decided about that.

Wow CounselorMom! Are you sure this is your first Disney trip? It took me years to put together an itinerary like that! :worship:

We've been in late Dec before and swam OK. The pool is usually warm enough but getting in and out can be chilly.

Keep up the great planning! You're a natural.:teacher:

Can anyone receive a pin that has a reservation at the beach club?

yes, anyone staying at BC/YC or BCV can request a pin. Or anyone who would like one but you would have to pick up at the front desk. I sent 150+ pins to Teena so she has plenty for now.

We just returned last night from our first ever stay at BC. We did CL. The trip was great. We arrived at the airport on 8/28 just before 9am, got right on ME, were at the resort by 10am. Our room was ready, and we walked in to Epcot shortly before World Showcase opened. Can't beat that service!

We were glad that the ME driver mentioned that Toy Story Mania would be down an extra day. We had planned to go the first day it reopened, so the CL CMs were great in helping us make some dining reservation changes.

We had a quiet room with no room on one side of us. I never heard anything, and I am a very light sleeper until the night before we left - some people screaming, but it's possible they were outside and not in the room next to us.

I thought the parks weren't too crowded. We walked right on a lot of rides and didn't really need to follow our usual touring plans. Fastpasses were still needed for the popular rides. We hit AK at 8:45 am on an early EMH day, and rode EE twice, with no one wait, then got right on the safari. The longest wait for anything in any park was for the Fairies meet and greet - it was routinely 75 minutes! We gave up after 3 tries - my daughter refused to stand in any line that was more than 45 minutes. There didn't seem to be any real surprise characters this time - ones that would just show up that were not on the times guide - that was a little disappointing. The biggest problems we ran into were the heat (yesterday was just awful) and the bus service to AK wasn't so great. It took us 45 minutes one day; another evening we rode to AK and got the bus to AKL for dinner at Boma - that took a long time, too.

Everyone was friendly. The only "bad" thing we saw was an altercation that almost broke out at the Electrical Parade on Saturday night. People had been standing in their places for a long time, the parade started about 10 minutes late, and then there were those "late" people who seem to look for a space to crash into at the last minute. Some people were really hollering at 3CMs to make them move, but they didn't.

All in all it was a great trip. We loved BC and will hope to stay there again on our next trip, which probably won't be for another 3 years til some new attractions get added. We did talk with Teena for a while yesterday morning, too!

I've just switched from a GV CL to LV CL room (there will just be myself), I seem to recall somewhere that most of the LV CL rooms dont have daybeds, obviously as it's only me it doesn't matter but I'd be interested to hear anyway.

Thanks

WHEW!! Ok, so I have just completed this thread AND the previous 2!! WOW...lots of clicking, and lots of info!! You guys know so much, and are SO helpful, I wish I had checked into this thread earlier!!

Me and DGF are checking into BC on Sept 29-Oct 6. SOOOOOOOOOO excited, this is a dream trip for us, and a dream resort!! Never thought we would be able to stay here, but got an absolutely phenomenal rate that we couldnt pass up!!

We've gone every year since they started free dining, but this will be our first year withOUT the dining plan (the rate was room only, unable to add dp), but i think it will give us a lot more flexibility than what we are used to. We have a few TS planned, but will probably do mostly CS, offiste, and food in the room.

Going through this thread, it looks like we will miss Teena :(, which is a shame, cause I was looking forward to meeting her! Hoping that everybody can give me suggestions on a couple of the questions I still have after going through these threads- had lots more before, but you guys have answered tons of them!!

So trying to decide what to put on our room requests (which i know are ONLY requests), altho I will be happy no matter what we get....after all, we're at disney world AND the BC! :) Normally, I always request king beds for us, BUT after reading repeatedly on here how few there are, I feel like that could possibly be a wasted request. We have a Standard view room (which I know means we could get the parking lot or the rooftops), but i would like to have something not too crappy. I think most important tho is to have a full balcony, so I'm trying to decide the best way to word my request. I know Teena has said the 2nd floor has fewer crappy views, so would it be better to say Full Balcony, 2nd floor, or Full balcony, garden view, OR Full balcony, facing epcot?

Thanks for the tips about regular check-in versus online check-in, will definitely make sure we do that. Also, one other thing I learned in this thread that I had never heard before, was that we can request a microwave for our room? When should this request be made? Anybody know how likely/unlikely it is that we would get one, and is there an additional charge?

That's all of the questions I can think of for now, may have more later :cutie:

Thanks again to everyone here for all your knowledge and sharing, you have been such a great help!!:worship: Can't wait to get to the Beach Club!!:cool1::cheer2::dance3::banana::woohoo::yay:
