I know I have seen something on this but I can not find it. We will be staying BC/CL in October. I know that there are laundry facilities at the quiet pool but my question is, are the washers He machines. I need to know what kind of detergent to pack. Thanks, Erin

Erin, per those that were there in August, they are HE machines

Dee, your summary of similarities and differences is great, only one thing to add, TEENA at the BC!!!

does anyone know if there is a listing of conventions at the YC/BC for march?

I considered adding Teena to the Beach Club list, and then I wondered about the remote possibility of other greeters from the BC seeing the post, and not being named. She is most definitely one of the best assets of the BC, but I think that becomes clear once you spend any time on this thread. For intro, FAQ purposes, I think I will leave that difference off. Although I certainly could add it by popular demand if enough people think it is ok (and with Teena's approval)

Speaking of laundry- I would love to include laundry info in the FAQ section, but never having done my washing while at the BC, I don't know the details, except that it seems that the machines are all HE.

1) Where are the laundry facilities located? By the quiet pools at both BC and YC? Anywhere else?

2) Cost for washing machine? Cost of drier (amount of time)?

3) Availability and cost of laundry supplies (detergent, softener, sheets)

If anyone can answer the above questions, I will post it up front.

TIA

Dee,

I'd be happy to get the information on the laundry facilities when we are there in 21 days :yay: Also, anything else you need me to check out I'd be happy to do it.

Just started reading through this thread and getting super excited. We are staying in December for a long weekend (Sat - Wed) for our first time at the World around Christmas. We will be in two studios, taking Grandma and Granddaddy along. I promised Grandma a low-key trip of just soaking up the Disney Christmas magic. Any tips on how I can keep my promise would be greatly appreciated!

One week from today we will be at the BC :cool1::cool1: after a 500+ day countdown it is almost here.

If anyone has requests for information or pics of anything at BC, please let me know and I will do my best to get them.

Since we stay for two weeks I always HAVE to end up doing laundry!

The washers at the BC quiet pool laundry are definitely HE.

Both washers and dryers cost $2.00. Washers run for about 30 minutes. The sign in the laundry room says the dryers run for 20 minutes. I found that on regular and permanent press cycles they run for at least 30 minutes.

I know at YC there is also a small laundry room on the first floor, near the side exit by the wedding gazebo side, in addition to the larger laundry room near the YC quiet pool.

HTH - Dee you're doing a great job! Thanks~

High efficiency. The front loading machines that use a special 'low sudsing' detergent. :laundy:

Hi all! DD12 and I are planning our first trip to WDW during the holiday season and it will also be our first time to stay deluxe!!!:cool1:

We know for sure we want to stay at BC or YC because we love Epcot!

Up until now, I was unable to get one resort for our whole stay on the room only discount, so I actually currently have us booked at 3 resorts. CR for our first night, then 5 nights at BC, then 5 nights at YC. All standard view ressies.

Here's my dilemma: I now see that YC has an opening for all our dates, but it is water view. Over the course of the 11 nights, this would cost us about $600 more than hopping resorts. However, it would be so nice to be settled in and not change resorts.

What do you all think....is it worth it? :confused3 Also, are all water view rooms at YC lake view? I think I read that somewhere on here, but can't find it now!

Thanks much!

That's a big chunk that could go towards restaurants or shopping. I would leave the reservations booked the way they are for now and wait to see if a standard room opens up for the whole 11 nights at either BC or YC. Otherwise, room view doesn't mean alot to me (unless you are overlooking a dumpster like we were at WL - don't even get me going on that!). We're booked in standard at BC in October and I wouldn't bother paying extra for a water view. We're in the pool most of the time anyway. Enough water view there! Good luck deciding. :cutie:

I would love some pics of the sauna/steam rooms
and gym. I hope your trip is wonderful!!

The only time I was in the fitness center at the YC/BC was to walk through it to get to the lockers on our last day. We stored out bathing suits and a change of clothes there for an afternoon swim in SAB after the parks.

This is what I found:

Fitness Center and Spa

The Ship Shape Health Club is located between Disney's Yacht Club Resort and its sister, Disney's Beach Club Resort.

Found this bit of info:

If you are not staying at one of these resorts and would like to use a workout center, you may do so by paying $12.00 a day (subject to availability.) Please note that if you schedule a spa treatment, you may use the fitness center that day for no additional charge.

I see that someone has recommended staying put and applying that $600.00 elsewhere but I have a different view.

I believe that the $600.00 is better spent on being able to stay in one place (a terrific place with a great location, view and ammenities) and not have to spend valuable time packing, moving and unpacking.

I highly recommend spending the additional money and have a worry free, enjoyable vacation.

pamelasu1, I would keep trying for all nights in one resort unless you want to try two. Even at checkin at the BC, you could ask if it is possible to stay all nights there instead of moving. I'm sure they would try to accommodate you.

Thanks for the split stay vs water view advice. I am going to keep my current ressies and keep checking to see if what I really want comes up!

Thanks again for keeping me from making an impulsive change that I probably would have regretted. :goodvibes

Hi Guys!

I'm back. Got in late last night.

Went through my pin requests and I only have two for September - DT83097 and momof3cuteboys. If there are any others for September, please PM me with name on reservation, whether it's the YC or BC and date of arrival. Unless otherwise specified, I will have one pin waiting for you at the front desk. Just tell them when you check in that a "friend" dropped off an envelope for you at the front desk.
