SUMMARY of what we know, or think we know. Nothing confirmed as yet by
DCL.
2010
There is a press event on October 6th,
We are told the information will be in preview on DCL website from October 7th.
On sale is said to be October 21st, some reports of the 14th.
CRUISE TO EUROPE
There will be an Eastbound Atlantic repo, from Port Canaveral, probably the second week of May which will be for at least 14 nights. Going towards Europe.
My guess on dates.:-Saturday May 8th 2010 the Magic I think will leave PC for Europe, but maybe not direct as last time. Arrive May 22nd in Europe
In 2007, this was
Castaway Cay, Six days at sea, Tenerife, Cadiz Spain, Gibraltar, and Barcelona. This is expected to be amended at the Europe end.
A few small rumours of Bermuda, Madeira, on the list.
HOME PORT
In Europe the home port is considered to be Southampton or Harwich, both UK. Both about 90 mins from London Airports Heathrow and Gatwick, but also Stansted for Harwich.
BALTIC
From port lists and schedules we have seen we have worked out there is most likely
Four 12 night cruises to the Baltics from these home ports. I have been posting on various threads since April and more in May, that I felt it was the Baltic sea and Northern Europe, the appearance of the Disney Magics name being listed on the Copenhagen port schedule found by Steph, -Taysmom.
http://www.tv.cphport.dk/coins/KbhHa...enAgent&lang=1
for June and July has supported this, starting on June 15th at Copenhagen, and made us feel it is the Baltic, we have an arrival time of 7am in Copenhagen.
Seems to only be there for a few cruises up to Early July so there must be a few special cruises Transatlantics as I suggested, and some Northern Europe ones as well.
This is a screen print of the last one.
St. Petersburg in Russia is a popular cruise port and has been mentioned a lot, it clearly has been an integral and planned part of the Baltic cruises. A lot of cruise ships overnight in St Petersburg.
We know Germany is included; the port of Warnemunde(for Berlin) has been mentioned a lot, and appeared on the port schedule for Denmark. In fact we have a departure time of 6pm from Germany.
Other ports mentioned, Gothenburg & Stockholm in Sweden, and Helsinki in Finland. Amsterdam and Tallinn, Estonia are outside bets.
First Baltic cruise is anticipated as June 12th, Last Baltic cruise ends July 30th in the UK.
CRUISE BACK
There will be a Westbound transatlantic back following the same route as the Eastbound but in reverse, my guess on dates is the Latest August 14th 2010 back to PC.-But thats not from the Baltic. I looks like leaving there far earlier, so maybe, from West Europe. There appears to be a gap in dates, so either the Repos are closer together, or there is another one way cruise around sailing maybe Western Europe, UK, to Barcelona perhaps, with Madeira and Gibraltar?
SPECULATION
I speculate the following, my guess is there is something else 'in-between' last time in 2007 it was
Transatlantic repo
10/11 Night Med
Then back Transatlantic repo.
I might be wrong but everything has been said in plural, special cruises, so I think
Transatlantic repo and / or via Bermuda or New York?
Special cruise Med>Southampton? Portugal? Madeira?
Baltic cruises.
Special cruise Southampton>Med Portugal? Madeira?
Transatlantic back.
Reasons:-
Again everything said has been plural, cruises
They usually leave and come back from PC first week May and back just before USA Labour day holiday.
There are fewer Oslo slots than can accommodate this schedule.
Oslo is further to go than the Med.
Cruisers can buy in bite size chunks, and add on extra ports.
The transatlantic didnt sell well last time there was some discounting, so they need to 'beef' these up
SOME FACTS/INFO
I understand a considerable number of people some 50+ have asked to be waitlisted for suites for summer 2010.
Many TA's now say its the Baltic, and quote similar schedules to this threads posts.
The 50% deposit offer from DCL is due to end October 1st, but I understand it could be extended for a final time of one month to October 31st and then end that would cover he release of 2010 cruises. However note often the special cruises have a higher deposit pp.
2010/ APART FROM BALTIC
The Wonder will remain doing ¾ night cruises all 2010, maybe with two stops at Castaway cay on 4 night cruises to save fuel, and the Magic, will remain on its 7 night Caribbean trips from January to May and September to December, generally as now, might see a slight change in port schedule to cut down on fuel costs.
Tortola for example saves fuel on St Maarten on the Eastern. Port times could be reduced to allow the Magic to go slower on three engines.
