2010 news from the Magic

I think I would give the Transatlantics a miss on these dates but might go for a Baltic and/or a Med cruise. I would want to go out of school times though.

It is all very complicated isn't it? I don't think I would do the Transatlantic so early. Not sure if the WB would be better being later or not

I really don't now what I fancy now.

If the WB TA goes 9/18, we would consider that as 2010 is a milestone anniversary for us. We've been spoiled in suites though, and I'm wondering how hard it would be to get that, and how bad the pricing would be.

2010 SAILINGS - RUMORS, RUMORS, RUMORS

We want to "dish some dirt" about the 2010 sailings. Keep in mind, these are just rumors, but that's how most of this begins.

It looks like the Wonder will be doing 5 and 4 night sailings in June, July and August of 2010. They won't alternate, it will be two 5's and a 4 night. No idea of where it will be going, but it should "ease the pain" for those wanting to sail while school's out and want more than 3 night sailings when the Magic is expected to be overseas.

We already got the glimpse of the Magic being scheduled to be in the Baltics. However, there appears there's a twist to this as it may not be heading there straight away.

From what we've heard, on April 10, the Magic heads on a 14 night Transatlantic voyage. It arrives on 4/24 and begins with an 11 night sailing. On 5/5 there's a 10 night, on 5/15 an 11 night and on 5/26 a 10 night.

Here's where it gets interesting. On 6/5 there's a 7 night. Hmm...could the Magic be traveling from say, Barcelona to England? Are those 10 and 11 night sailings in April and May in the Mediterreanean? It would appear so.

From England, the Magic is scheduled for four 12 night sailings starting on 6/12. These are rumored to be the Baltics, including Copenhagen, Oslo and Warnemunde, Germany.

On July 30, it appears that there's going to be an 8 night sailing. We're speculating this is back to Barcelona. The schedule from there is an 11 night on 8/7, a 10 night on 8/18, an 11 night on 8/28, and a 10 night on 9/8.

Finally, on 9/18, the Magic should be heading "home" on a 14 night Transatlantic voyage.

Again, none of this is confirmed, these are "rumors."

Shh....let's be sure this is kept just among friends.

OMG! If this is the case, I could do either transatlantic...decisions decisions Plus the airfare should be lower for the april/may or...the med then the 7 day to london...or..well you all get the drift too many decisions.

If I was you I would get a suite request in now as no one expected the TA to be in September, with schools in it might be a good price.

Wow, much more to muddle over. I don't think I want to do a TA out of Barcelona (expecting that better airfare deals could be found flying to London). I would definately prefer the Baltic to a repeat of the 07 Med ports. However, if the focus was more Greece/Italy it would be a hard decision. And if these shorter 'transitional cruises' involved some UK ports of call they would be tempting...though flying round trip into/out of two different cities could be pretty pricy. My brain is starting to hurt

Well, if they all look good but too much $$, I think I'd have to book a Christmas 2010 cruise as a consolation prize!

The later return time does surprise me...it's scary enough planing my 7 days in the Caribbean during hurricane season...don't know how I'd feel about racing across the Atlantic in September.

I would personally think the Europe to middle side of the crossing would be safer weather than the Caribbean. Hurricanes usually form far lower off the African coast and travel West to the Caribbean hit the islands might travel north as w have seen to Florida or Texas, and over land loose power, some travel up the East coast USA.

But for all I would say crossing the Atlantic on the route the Magic would take would be far better and less risk than sailing the Caribbean at that time.

I personally have always thought that DCL brings the Magic back to the Caribbean far to quickly when its on it trips, all other cruise lines tend to go in April and back in late September or early October to get the Caribbean at its best, this is the first time DCL has followed the policy of other cruise lines.

That would be very nice, but with 10 and 11 nights they cannot go to far so Greece for example is out, presuming Barcelona is home , port, I would love Rhodes Kos, Turkey, Cyprus but I cannot see it happening, now, will they just 'copy' 2007, or change a few, Palma Malta, Tunisia Northern Africa are all possible.

Come on, the speculation and rumor, now is getting quite clear, dispite being flamed quite a few times, I posted as far back as April on various threads it was the Baltic, and Northern Europe, and even a series of special cruises, we still have had some surprises today and more detail, but as TA after TA and discussion boards all confirm, recently the secret was out early spring.

But its not Alaska, (till 2011).

Yes please - I dont want them to do the same ports again- I am determined to get my dh on to a 2010 cruise - but he wont if its the same itinery that we did before.

Good point, Andrew. Truthfully, I think I'd rather wait and do a TA on a bigger ship (a bigger DCL ship that is)!

I can't wait to see the ports of call for the 7/8 day cruises, might be nice to tie in with a visit to the UK...though I still WANT two weeks on the ship, carnflabbit!

I might be able to squeeze in a Baltic and take kids out 2 days from school in 2010, my phantom cruise of 8 days to Barcelona is another option.

Lisbon? Cadiz? Gibraltar, and maybe South-end on sea as a substitute for Castaway Cay?
