I've read thru this whole thread and while I'm pretty sure of the answer I just want to reassure myself. Our tentative plan atm is for 6 park days we'd like to buy all six military tickets on post and use the leftover 2 tickets for our last 2 park days. Since we're a group of 4 we'd purchase the other two 2-day base tickets at the gate (normal price). Is this following all the allowed guidelines?

I'm not sure that I've seen anyone post about doing that this year, but I know last year they did. If I were you, I might wait and buy the tickets at WDW, just to be sure. If you buy on post and then can't use 2 tickets (although I don't see why not, but you never know) you won't be able to get a refund. You'll have to pay a little more because of taxes, but it might be worth it.

That's a good point. Hopefully someone will try it out before we go. I can't resist trying to save a few dollars to more than likely blow on souvenirs later :rotfl:

I have a question about the 40% off room rate. We booked on Friday and the CM told my husband the military room discount was 30/35/40. Was this a mistake? Has anyone booked lately directly through Disney and received the 40% for a moderate. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I originally booked POFQ in January and they gave me the 40% off room discount..................we ended up changing to the Poly, but I thought everything was 40% across the board for military.

Maybe call back and talk to another CM?

Yes the CM made a mistake! The 40% off is for all resorts, but there is only a certain amount of rooms at each available for the discount. We have two rooms booked at a moderate, both 40% off.

Yep. We're going to POR in June and I have 40% off rooms ($111 weekdays and $120 Fr/Sat nights) with dining. Call back if you were only given 35% and tell them to apply the military discount codes not the GP offer.

OMG Thank you sooo much for this info! :goodvibes
Now I can try and convince my mom to let us go to WDW when we visit my sister at Auburn (and she wants to go too). :thumbsup2

My FIL is retired military. I called and booked two rooms on Friday and got the 40% off. The CM never mentioned anything about showing id when we check in. Will there be any problem since I booked the rooms but my FIL is the one that would have military id?

We just booked two rooms, one for friends and one for us. I asked if my friends would need us to show Id when they checked in, as we would be at Sea world for much of the day, I was told that at some point during the day we would need to show our ID but they would still be given a room and be allowed to use the pool until then.
They may not ask for an ID, but there is a big possibility they will, and if you don't have it you'll have to pay rack rate.

As long as your FIL will be there with you, then you'll be okay. Someone must have an ID to get the rate. I believe one military member can have 3 rooms under his/her name & ID.

My in-laws will probably get there before us so I guess maybe they can show the id for our reservation and then they won't have to present at our check in.

I'm just nervous that they would expect a military id from me since I made the reseveration.

Sorry I thought you were traveling with out your FIL, I'm a dork.
You should be fine, but if your worried call and tell the CM your concern. It might be a good idea to have your reservation in your FIL's name.
Even if your inlaws don't get there before you, you will be fine as long as at some point during the day your FIL shows ID.

Some one has to show ID before check in. That is how it was last year and sure that is how it is this year.

I talked to a CM who told me I just had to show it at some point during the day, last year they didn't ask for our ID at all, and we had two rooms booked then too.

 We are going to WDW now!!! WOOHOOO I just couldn't stand NOT using these tickets this year. It was killing me. :rotfl2: Then when I heard they are bringing back the Main Street Electrical Parade....we just had to plan a trip. SO.....we will get these tickets again. I WISH THEY WERE 5 DAYS LIKE LAST YEAR but we will take the 4 days. :thumbsup2 We are going to be down there for about 6 nights preceeding our 4 nights at Vero Beach. YIPPEEE

We had two rooms last year and I couldn't check in until my daughter showed up with the ID as she was the one with it. I got there at 3:00 and she got there at 10:00.

we are considering doing this too - has anyone had success doing this?

We are a family of 4 needing to get 6 day tickets. I called the SOG ticket office to ask if we could purchase 6 tickets and use more than one ticket per person. The representative did reply that we would be able to do this. I have tried pricing out every option for us (if anyone else has any suggestions-fire away!) I thought that me, DH, and DS could use the 6 military tickets, then we would just have to buy a 6-day hopper for DD. From my calculations, it came to a $58 savings. I am not sure this is really worth it, or if we should just order 4 6-day hoppers from our base.
