2010 Armed Forces Salute

We're locals, so I was moreso thinking along the lines of using 4 of our WP&M admissions on 4 separate days over the summer (not consecutively- just visiting, let's say, one waterpark every 2 weeks for 8 weeks) and then using our regular parks days when we go back in September. Would this be possible?

With these tickets, yes it is possible. With regular tickets, you'd have to use them within 14 days of first use. But these ones are all going to expire at midnight on September 30th, whether you've used them all or not. These tickets also have some blackout dates, March 27, 2010 through April 9, 2010 at all locations and July 3 and 4 at Magic Kingdom only. (copied from the sticky here about the tickets). Enjoy!

This is a "canned" response modified for the Armed Forces Salute 2010 tickets with the assumption you have both the Park Hopper and Water Park Fun and More (WPF&M) options.

Hopefully this will make it a little clearer. In effect you have two tickets with different privileges on one card. Everything expires at Midnight on September 30, 2010. Even if you use up all your major park days, the WPF&M entries remain valid until used or 9/30/10. (Note you do not have to use the days consecutively.)

You have four days of access to the four major parks (AK, DHS, EC, MK), and may visit more than one major park on a single day without any extra charges. Without the Park Hopper option you can only go to one major park per day.

You have four entries to the minor parks (BB, DQ, OT, TL, WWS). These may or may not be used on the same days as you go to the major parks. However, if you went to TL in the morning, Oak Trail in the afternoon, and Disney Quest in the evening of one day you would have used three of the four entries. (Note that leaving and returning to the same minor park on the same day does not use an extra entry.)

If you go to minor parks only on one day and do not go to a major park you do not use up one of your major park days.

If you were to go to a Water Park in the morning and then one of the major parks for the remainder of the day you would have used one minor park entry and one day of major park entry.

Note that with the ticket unless you have the hopper option you can only go to one major park per day. Unless you have the WPF&M option you cannot go to a minor park without upgrading or purchasing a separate ticket.

Thank you again, Dorothy, and thanks to Cheshire Figment, too. Sorry to get a little off-track, but do you know if the same principal (4 days in the major parks in addition to 4 days in the minor parks) is applicable to the FL Resident $99 4 Day Dream Pass? (Of course, also adding on the $26 WP&M option.)

(Of course, also adding on the $26 WP&M option.)

Florida Residents get special ticket offers, like 4 Days for $99 with the 4-Day Dream Pass*. This pass includes 4 one-day, one-park admissions to any of the 4 Walt Disney World® theme parks for just $99! You can use your 4-Day Dream Pass any 4 days of your choosing between now and 3/26/10 and 4/10 - 5/25/10 - blockout dates 3/27 - 4/9/10.* And Florida Residents can add the Park Hopper Option and the Water Park Fun & More Option to enjoy even more flexibility.

*Pass valid from 1/3 – 3/26/10 and 4/10 - 5/25/10. One Theme Park per day. Proof of Florida residency required. Pass is nontransferable and excludes activities/events separately priced. Purchase by May 21, 2010.

When you order Florida Resident tickets, you will receive an exchange certificate in the mail. Redeem the exchange certificate at any Walt Disney World® Theme Park ticket window by presenting the exchange certificate and valid photo ID.

You could do it that way, yes. Think of the WPF&M as "admissions" and not "days," though. You have four admissions to the WPF&M, and four "days" at the main parks. So you could go to EPCOT in the morning (using 1 "park day" ticket), then in the afternoon, go to Blizzard Beach (using one WPF&M "admission"), then go back to EPCOT for Illuminations on the same day.

Also, you could use several WPF&M options on the same day -- for example, go to Blizzard Beach in the morning, Typhoon Lagoon in the afternoon, and Disney Quest at night, and that would use three of your WPF&M admissions.

You can plan it out to use only one a day -- if you go to Blizzard Beach in the morning, you can leave to go back to your hotel for a bit and then re-enter Blizzard Beach later that same day without using a second WPF&M admission, for example. So if you did that, then yes you could do a different main park or WPF&M thing for 8 total days. Hope this answers your question and have a magical time! :)

This is totally what I'm doing. We booked 8 nights with the 40% off discount and are using out WP&M to stretch out the trip. I am so looking forward to it.

can the discounted military ticket (with water park option) be purchased at the water parks?

Yes. We can sell any type of ticket at the water parks. And I have sold and activated, as well as added WPF&M to Armed Forces Salute Tickets,

Does anyone know if this Military offer will be extended until Dec. like last year? Any rumors?? Thanks

I sure hope it's extended. They've extended so many other offers to "regular" WDW visitors that I'd think this one would be too. Oh, please, Disney.

Who Knows What EVIL Lurks In The Heart Of Disney Marketing?!

When Disney feels ready to implement their next promotion they will do so. If other recent promotions have been any indication, for about the first month nobody will really understand it and the Marketing people will not have thought out all the ramifications.

Hmmmm so I planned to use my GAD voucher on 3/28. Will I not be able to upgrade my GAD ticket to a military ticket since they are blacked out starting 3/27? :( That was my plan since I'm going back in May for work.....

Yes. You will be able to use the voucher for a GAD ticket and then upgrade to a Armed Forces Salute ticket outside the park after exiting. This will give you the AFS ticket with three days remaining on it which can then be used after the blockout period has ended.

I'm really hoping that Disney decides to extend this offer. We're going in October this year, and we're not able to get tickets if they expire in September. :(

Us too!! We already booked for during the F & W Fest before they announced the new offer! :headache: Here's hoping they extend it!! :yay:

We usually leave and go back later, should I wait till we don't plan to go back anymore as I'm thinking I won't get back in right since it's a black out day? (just want to make sure I'll get back in) Are the ticket windows open still when the park starts to close? You would think with as much as I go I would remember all this but it's all foggy......

Silly question, if you upgrade to the hopper and water parks and more, do you have to go to the water park on one of the four days, or is their a set number of water park and more visits? Thanks,

Scott

Once you leave the park and get the AFS ticket it will be blocked out and you cannot use it to get back in. But if it is close to Park closing you can go to the Guest Relations Office outside the Park and have the upgrade done there.

Thanks, Cheshire Cat, man are you ever in the know. Any relation to Tolstoy? :rotfl2: Seriously though, thanks. We are staying 5 days and wanted to do the major parks four of those days and a water park the last. Wasn't sure if that would work, but now I know. Thanks for all of your hard work! :worship:

Chesire, I have to say you rock! When I was planning our trip a year ago, you were here calmly answering all our questions. Now, it is a year later and time to plan the next one and you are still doing it. Thank you!!:worship:

I've read thru this whole thread and while I'm pretty sure of the answer I just want to reassure myself. Our tentative plan atm is for 6 park days we'd like to buy all six military tickets on post and use the leftover 2 tickets for our last 2 park days. Since we're a group of 4 we'd purchase the other two 2-day base tickets at the gate (normal price). Is this following all the allowed guidelines?
