If we book one week under my name at Coronado Springs, then book the next week under DF's name at Wilderness Lodge, would we be able to get six nights free?

Wrong? Absolutely not, Disney wants you to come & spend lots of money while you are there! Both names will need to be on the reservation if you'll both be staying in the room, so no need to have one week in your name, one week in his name.

Wish I could stay for 2 weeks.... just happy I can go at all!

No, it is not wrong. You are a paying guest like anybody else.

And yes, you could get 6 nights free that way. However, you could put it all under one name if you wanted, several people have done this. The promo is really for every 4 nights, you get 3 free.

When you call for the ressie they will let you know if you can do it.

I booked two rooms at Pop with the new 4-3 special. I told them that I wanted two different ressies so I could get two gift cards and they laughed and said sure I could do that!.
So we are getting 400 in cards!

If I had the money I would book 2 rooms for 14 days and get 800 in gift cards, of course that would be an 800 deposit as well.

Yep, you have to have a different ressie and make the $200 deposit for each of those ressies to get the gift card for each of them. Several people have done it though!
