2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

I just found this thread. I'm glad to know I'm not the only person planning soooo far in advance! We plan to go in early Dec 2009...it'll be the first trip for DH and both my girls. I grew up not too far from Disney and went soooo often as a kid. However my last visit there was in 2000! WAY too long to go with out Mickey & Minnie!

So for those who were able to book rooms for 2009...how'd you do that? I called Disney and they told me they could nto book it till the rates came out in Aug. I'm so nervous I won't get my room at the Poly!

Welcome, I just found this website not too long ago too!!

In regards to Disney, did they say they would not book your room? Because I was able to reserve my room. They charge you one night booking at the highest rate of 2008 to hold it and when the new rates come out if you decide it is too expensive you can always cancel. I would call back and speak to a new CM and book the room now. From what I see December can get a little busy around the holiday.

miprender is right. you should be able to book your room, and they'll charge you one night's stay at 2008 rates for now. When the rates come out for 2009, your reservation total will be changed to those new rates. Call back and talk to another CM because I think someone gave you incorrect info.

October 2009 seems so far away. Well it is! I keep dreaming of tonga toast. My son said we need a time machine to jump ahead to go and then come back to the present to do it again. I like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a itinerary already done with all my ressies listed for each day. We are so excited!! Now if I can only get Grumpy, I mean my DH who will have to work some overtime to stay on the monorail like he wants, to be as excited. He says 5 days, we say 8! Afterall we are going with my parents and they need more to enjoy everything. They haven't been since 1976.

Who doesn't just looooove Disney??? What is wrong with these people??

This waiting for the 2009 packages to be released is just about to kill me. I know I am not going until Sept. 09 but I really want to get booked so it will feel like I am really going.

I check those darn hours a couple of times a day, and I got a PM from Trixiequilts late last night that they were finally up! I've been back in planning heaven ever since!

i was just getting back up here after a little while and wanted to let everyone know that i called Disney about a week ago and they told me the 2009 packages would be out between Aug and Oct....i wonder if they are tinkering with prices due to the economy

I booked our room only ressie today! Sooooo Excited! We are staying in the All star music family suites. Anyways the cm told me today 2009 will probably be the end of August. Sure wish they would hurry!!

Congrats on getting it booked. It always makes it seem more real then. I am trying to patiently wait until the packages are released.

I think you are right about the suites going fast and you probably did the right thing about going ahead and getting one. We are staying at POP and not going until Sept. 09 so I don't have the rush.

I am having a rough time with the new ADR rules. In Oct. it will be corrected and we can start booking our ADR's at 180 days is that correct? I am so confused and was so ready to book my ADRs in Sept, now I am not sure when I can book?/

We're going on our 1st Family trip to Disney in Dec 2009! I've been many times growing up since I lived down there...but haven't been since 2000 AND have NEVER stayed onsite! Needless to say I'm totally psyched to being going with DH and my 2 girls for their very first even visit next year!

Sooooo...I notice some of you booked room only already. Is it possible or even necessary for me to book room only for Dec 2009 at the Poly? We'd just book standard room so I'm not sure if it's something I should worry about...it selling out. We're not going at Xmas time...first week of Dec is when we plan to go.

NEXT question ---- if we get lucky and get a code, and we decide to get a better view at that point....we have to go with what's available, right? Just like making a brand new res. Would it make ANY sense to HOLD room only for both the standard (incase i get no pins/codes) AND a Lagoon View (incase I DO get the discount later? Or would they not allow me to book both?

I'm so jelous that the Jan 2009 schedule is out. I can't wait until those new rates are out. My friend who is a DVC member can't believe they are not out. She thought if we booked now we would just get the 2008 prices. I wish!!!!

Hello fellow Disney lovers I would like to jump in and introduce myself. I am planning a trip for Sept 1-12, 2009 at AKL CL and hoping for those packages to come out soon too, so I can start having a realistic idea of how much this trip is going to cost us! (I am slightly nervous about that with the economy right now), but i want to have 1 more family holiday with my boys before they are too old to enjoy a disney family trip! (they'll be 17 and 13 in Sept 2009). Also, since labour day is a little later in Sept 2009, they'll only miss 4 days of school for a 12 day vacation. I jumped on the bandwagon and booked a room ressie the other night so at least we could secure our favorite resort (not that we've stayed at alot, only stayed at 1 actually, but fell in love with AKL)!!! So I booked AKL club level and am glad we secured the room! The whole family adored AKL!! We are also hoping to get in on the free dining deal next Sept if they offer it again! We'll be coming from western Canada, so it's a long trip, and hopefully airfare won't kill us! You can add us to the list of planners, I am looking forward to starting my planning along with all of you!!!
