Do you know how hard it is going to be knowing it's playing at PI and I'm at work...popcorn::

Cough Cough....I dont feel too good! :lmao:

Just got back. There were only 12 people at the theater I was at here in Vegas. It was just good to get a little pre-season fix. Loved most of the shows (I can do without "The Zone") Also cool to see the pre-season camp blurbs. Crown and Blue Stars look like they will have great shows once again this year.

Wish we would have had a little glimpse from the capital city of Wisconsin.

:cheer2: Oh Ya, Anaheim Kingman were AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

well, I got my airline ticket to Madison last week, so next payday I will be purchasing my ticket to the Madison show on June 28th!!!! I'm soooooooo excited! I only wish DH could go with me!

Hitting the Academy show in Phoenix, hopefully the Rose Bowl on the 4th of July, a possible trip to Madison since I haven't missed that show for about 6 years, and a Thursday night in August sitting in the movie theater in Vegas cheering the Scouts return to the top 10, the Blue Stars return to the top 6, and another World Championship (without the tie) for the Phanton Regiment!
( A boy can wish can't he)

yay Blue Stars return to top 6! Realistically if they get into finals it'd be a good jump forward and if they crack top 10, that would be fantastic

With the staff they have in place, the way they have been building each year, the returners they have and the show for this summer, I do not see to 6 out of the question for the Blue Stars. Unless there is some drastic issue, top 10 is totally within their reach, so hopefully they have that something special that will push then up to the top 6.

Are Blue Stars going back to the Traditional uniform?

Let's hope so!

Hi guys. I realized that I missed you guys, so I decided to come back. ;)

I made the decision to sell my marching baritone on Craigs List, and all I've gotten so far were 4 people asking for me to come join their senior corps. One guy wanted me to join their pit section. I've never even played a pit instrument in my life, and I let him know that.......but he didn't care. :rotfl2:

I wouldn't hold my breath on the BStars uni. Which is too bad. I loved the look of the buckle.

LOL that is a bag of worms right there :rotfl:

I don't believe they are going back to the traditional uniform. I think some of the uniform is cool, but it also makes it painfully obvious when a clump of white legs and shoes is traveling across the field and someone is even the slightest bit behind. It's so funny, everyone always said "the Blue Stars need to update their uniform" and now that they did, everyone complains!

Don't get me wrong, I was against it and still am for the most part. I keep an open mind to the progression of the corps, but I think if they were going to redo the uniform, they should have kept either the cross straps or the buckle in some way.

Did you ever catch Vanguard at retreat a few years ago when the guard captain would come out in the vintage 1970's vanguard uniform?

Awsome!

My ticket arrived in the mail yesterday...I'm going to Madison at the end of the month for the AAU tae kwon do nationals tournament (I'm an official, not a competitor...I'm tooooo old for that!). I have to be there on the 29th, and as luck would have it, DCI will be at a stadium only 2 miles from my hotel...YEAH! So, I'm flying in a day early and going. This is going to be an awesome trip for me! As much as I loooove DH and my 3 monsters, er I mean children, this will be the first time I've EVER been away from them for more than a day or 2...I've been without my husband, but I've always had the kids. And, I've been without the kids, but I've always had my husband. My friend, Wendy, and I are sharing a room (she too is excited to be away from the husband and kids for a week) and aside from seeing DCI, I get to do something I love (TKD) for a week, and have...get this...ADULT CONVERSATION...WOO HOO!!!! No laundry, no dishes, no kids. Aside from homeschooling my own 3 kiddos (8, 11, and 14) I teach gymnastics and tae kwon do. So, if I'm not in charge of my own kids, I'm usually in charge of somebody elses. This is going to be GREAT!!! Madison, here I come!! :moped:

ugh such a killer lineup and I'm stuck doing a flippin wedding! My job just does not fit with drum corps...such a shame!

Greetings All,
Just found this thread. Although I am not a marching member I have been a huge DCI fan for the past 20 years or so. I am lucky that I live about 5 miles from the Santa Clara Vanguard organization and about 50 miles from the Concord Blue Devils. Having 2 amazing organizations in your home town area is a real privilege. The Vanguard is definitely going thorough some changes with the addition of Jeff Fiedler as the new CEO it should be an exciting season.

Last year I was able to travel to Pasadena for the World Championships. Having the event on the West Coast was something I was not about to miss. It was an exciting week in Southern California. Living in CA not many Corps travel out this far west due to the distance so this was a once in a life time experience.

For those of you looking to start your kid in Drum Corps there is a Blue Devils “C” Corps that starts at age 8. They perform locally and are a blast to watch. Here is a link to more about them. http://www.bluedevils.org/programs/c/2008/

Looking forward to keep up with you all on this thread
