Can you keep a secret?

I actually snapped a cutting from a rose bush in the Rose Bowl, kept it alive for the trip home, and now am the proud owner of my own "Rose Bowl Rose Bush" in my back yard!

And yes that was a fun week!

Last year we had Knott's and Disneyland, Universal Studios, LA, the beaches, museums....

No, DCI signed a deal to hold finals in Indy for the next 10 years in the new stadium. Unfortunatly the new stadium will not be ready for this years finals show, so the show got bumped to Bloomington.

Bloomington will be fun this year, (I love college towns) and I'm sure Indy will be fine next year, but I'm just not too thrilled with spending one week of vacation in the same town for 9 years in a row.

If college is out Bloomington is a dead town, Indy is ok to some extent, but since I live in the area, I don't see what's so great about it, but maybe it's because I'm used to it.

WOW! Did you get me confused, I actually had to check which Forum I was on... Been around Drum Corps longer then I care to remember sometimes. not alot of time to write this am, just wanted to say Hi!
oh and I was at PI in April... very disappointed about 20 or so people and no energy. Kingsmen got the most applause and that was as everyone was walking out.

I was touring Epcot w/ a bunch of friends during the 1997 (?...could be off a year or so there) DCI Worlds and came across a line marked off w/ yellow plastic chains.

I turned to my friends and said... LOOK... Phantom was here!

Dead Silence...and blank looks. Picture birds chirping.

Yup... I started marching in my early teens and that was a pretty standard joke among my fellow corps members in those first couple of years. By the time I was touring Epcot w/ my friends it was 15yrs later and none of them had ever seen PR play Spartacus.

When I explained the significance...none of them thought it was funny at all. Later on that day I came across another old fogey and shared the story... he thought it was hysterical ... and we both felt bad for the young uns that didn't get the joke!

I seem to recall marching in a Garden State Circuit Championship where they couldn't even find a high school stadium to hold it in.

The judge's "box" was a bingo table at the top of a small bump in the field behind some school in New Jersey.

Wow... those were some great shows...huh?

First DCI gets movied from Indy to Bloomington because the new stadium wont be ready in time...

Now it looks like there may be a problem in Bloomington! The stadium turf is suffering what seems to be a sink hole! YIKES! Now what?
