We've had a change of plans, so we won't make the meet An opportunity has come up to go to Hawaii, so we couldn't resist!

But we have scheduled another visit for May of 2008 - you can never plan too far ahead! Maybe some of you guys and gals will be there at the same time, and we can have a mini-meet.

As I've mentioned before, we won't make it down until 12/1 - but we're hoping some stragglers from the BIG MEET might still be hanging out and want to catch a cold one somewhere.

I am new to this board, just found it today and was already looking into going to WDW at this time. Would love to be involved in the meet. Will be coming down alone so would be great to meet others.

I did this back in the early 90's, met a group of disney fans from a message board and we ended up meeting at the Disney Studios (got a backstage tour from a Cast Member) and I even met Cast members who came from Disneyland in California. So I am very excited to get the chance to meet others again.

Well, we booked our room at BWX for 11/26-12/2. Unfortunately, right after we booked, our car had a major repair, and now our youngest cat has just been diagnosed with diabetes, so not sure if we will have the time or the $$ to make it down. Keeping our fingers crossed.....

My boyfriend and I will be headed to Walt Disney World, December 1 - 8. We are going wil my parents and will be staying at the Boardwalk Villas (DVC). I can't wait to spend Christmastime at Disney again!

Hey all..

Just finished moving (I have been absent from the boards for a while) from a tiny apartment in NJ to a 3 bedroom house in PA Whoo hooo.

As for the trip for me and my bf, its still on, and we will be down around the time of the meet. November 30 till Decmber 9th (I think, still can't find the box I put all the paper work in)

So the rent is what, half what it was in NJ now?

Rent... we own now I think there is about $100 difference in the amount of the mortgage a month and the rent I use to pay. LOL

My home is almost $300 cheaper WITH my lot rent than the rent on my last apartment. It may not be a very big home, but I own it!

Its not a big home by any means.. but its mine, the even with all the new over grown grass in the front yard (I lived in apartments all my life from the time I can remember, so mowing the lawn should be... Interesting to say the least).
And with a drive way there is always a place to park a few cars where I dont feel like walking a mile to and from my car

I am also a newbie of sorts, been here for over a year and a half but just joined a few weeks back.

I would love to meet up with others and do something fun in the house of the mouse. My partner and I will be down there from Dec. 1-7

If someone posts up a calendar of events, I would love to fit it into our schedule.

As for events, I love the idea of the Epcot dessert gathering, also the holiday decorations tour, a casual dinner, maybe a scavenger hunt, pin trade meet and greet, drinks throughout the world tour, etc. Available to help organize a event. Just let me know.

Well GayDays have come and went. We had a great time this past weekend and booked our time for the holiday meet and greet. I had mentioned earlier I am up to organizing an event. Especially interested in organizing a holiday decorations tour. Looking at Monday, November 26th. Anyone interested?

Also, participated in the Welcome Home Wednesdays for DVC members this past week. Has a blast. I think a meet and greet as clone "Ms. Devy Cee's" would be a blast. Any thoughts?

I am getting really exceited for this trip as it will be my birthday week. Lets try to have a tentative schedule by the end of June so others can plan their trips, make meals reservations. etc.

Here is an idea for our next trip, would love to have others join in:

Monday - Holiday Tour
Tuesday - Mini Golf or Water Park (if warm enough)
Wednesday - Stitch's Character Breakfast/ Welcome Home DVC Event
Thursday - Adventure Club

Somewhere add Mickey's party. Whoo Hoo Holidays are just around the corner. Some other ideas are a scavenger hunt, Epcot Candlight Processional, a Disney Ornament Swap and Greet. I have so many ideas. I have my tree and decs that I am bringing to dec out our door and room. Look forward to hearing back from you all soon.

We've got our DVC BoardWalk Villa booked for Tues 11/26 thru Sun 12/2. Not sure if we will be able to make it right now, as one of our cats recently was diagnosed with diabetes and we are still trying to get her blood glucose regulated. Hopefully that will happen soon; if it dies, there is a place here where we could kennel her that will give her her insulin while we are on vacation, so we might still make it.

Thanks. She seems to be feeling a lot better since her insulin started, but her blood glucose levels are still bouncing around a lot. We are hoping to get her more stable soon!

Am sincerely and extremely apologetic about this, but it is now looking unlikely that I will be able to attend the meet in November even though I was very gung-ho in the planning stages. I feel especially bad about this because I was one of the original organizers, and do not like to back out of things or leave people hanging. I know you guys don't need me to be the engine (the world seems to continue to revolve quite nicely with or without me), but am so sorry for any inconvenience or bad feeling this causes you.

Circumstances have changed a whole lot for me in the past few months and the time, money and heart need to be directed elsewhere. It would be lovely to meet as many of you as possible at a later date. Here's hoping the planning carries on and goes smoothly. This whole experience may be an argument against planning things more than a year in advance. We THINK we know exactly what we want and can handle, and then things change.

Perhaps someone else will be willing to take a lead role on this.
