2006 version: What have you seen on the Emerald aisle?

National is double my Alamo rate for late next month. I have Always used National, maybe 20 or so times in past 7 years, business and leisure, but not now.

Exactly.

Why pay more for the same exact thing!! Ive had nothing but good experiences with both brands, so I have no problem with either (besides Alamo counter service :sad2: )

I agree, we are huge National car fans..actually Executive Aisle members and we too choose Alamo in Feb. because National's rate were double what we were paying on Alamo. We used Alamo and all went fine. We leave today and are using Alamo again. This will mean I will drop back down to Emerald Aisle level next year because even though we are going to Disney for more than 40 days in 2006 (required to maintain the Ex. Aisle level), we haven't used National at all this year.

THe rates have dropped at National, so now we have to decide if we use EA and hope for the best, or go with the guaranteed mid-size SUV at Alamo. Both are coming in at $105 for a one week rental. I was hoping this thread could help, but it doesn't look too promising.

Truthfully, I would go with the EA for a few reasons. Number one, I absolutly hate the Chevrolet Equinox (Virtually no trunk space, cheap interior, under powered motor). Number two, the EA is so blazing fast its amazing. Number three, you might be able to pick up a full size suv or any other better size then what you have. Just my opinon!

Just back from trip arrived late 11:00 PM 4/21 and prcedded right to garage Had full size Emerald reserve. The full size aisle had 1 car in it! A Grand Prix. We did not want to take it as it has absolutuley no leg room in the back seat and both children have very long legs. Went to booth to ask attendant and she replied that That was all there was and I could take one from alamo but they would not honor my rate( I was apying alomost $275 for 8 days!!!). Loooked at the one vehicle in Alamo row and it was full of trash! I lloked like they didn't even clean it out! It was also a grand prix! Went back and took the one from the National fullsize aisle. My daughter had to jam her feet under the seat because they wouldn't fit! Teh CD player in the car had been disabled and the opening covered over so it was useless! I am very disapponited in National this time. This car could barely fit 2 large suitcasesw and one cary on in the trunK! I have always used National , however perhaps will try Magical express next time this was definitely poor service and I don't care attittude on the part of the employees. This is not the sames National rental car company that I have been using for years!!!

I was wondering if anyone else has used EA lately. We get in May 31 and was wondering what was going to be there.

I just got back. I picked up a Chevy(?) Uplander on Emerald Aisle on May 4th. It was the only thing on the Aisle that wasn't a midsize. It was parked all the way at the end. It was a very nice car. We had tons of room. :thumbsup2

Good to hear someone is getting a free upgrade!!

used EA on 5/6...arrived about 5:45pm and there were about 5 chevy monte carlo's on the aisle and that's it. only two of us so we didn't much care since i only paid about $72 for four days.

Full of Chevy Impalas (or Malibus), Pontiac G6, Pontiac Grand Prix, and 1 Monte Carlo

Are all monte carlos 2 door? I know we got one once and the trunk is big but I remember that 2 door thing was terrible to use back seat.

Yes, all Monte Carlo's are 2 doors. They are built on the same platform as the Impala, so the trunks are huge, and the backseats are pretty large (even though it is a 2 door)...
