We don't need any mugs because drinks at the drink station are now free!

OK, now I have a question...

If we have 100 Dis-ers on the ship DO WE NEED 1 or 2 refillable mugs to pass around???:rotfl2:

(BTW, This is a joke. I always laugh at how upset people get about those refillable mugs)

:jumping2:

Silly! Drinks are free on deck 9!! No need for refillable mugs. ;)

We'll leave that debate to another thread.

Mary, I was just being silly, You and Mark are the greatest, and are also mods... That in my mind makes you in charge!!1 ;););_)

(please note the Winkiy's ;))

OK, I guess I should stop being silly before the people with the white coats find me!!!!!

:jumping2:

BTW - if you haven't already done so visit the DVC board and vote on the Member Cruise poll. I know where we all stand but our votes need to count as well as those who think it is too expensive.

Here is a great link to a thread on Trip Insurance... That being said they will not cover points, except for Travelguard. They are the only insurance company that will work with DVC points.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=882735

Note: they will only give you back $5.00 a point Max, so you are not fully insured.....But They will sell you insurance...

:jumping2:

Thanks so much for this information and will check out the thread. If Disney and Travelguard both give you back a maximum of $5 per point, is there that much of a price difference not to get the insurance through Disney? Just wondering. Annmarie

Oh Mary, I was just being silly

Please note the Winkies in mypost.... ;););)

Mark Started the thread, that gives him the Owner /Master honor, and you are both mods, which makes you in charge of keeping us in line.....

OK, I should stop trying to be funny or the people with the white coats will find me!!!

David - I know you are just being silly. Just for the record and because hopefully we will have new people joining us and I don't want them to get the wrong idea. Mark and I were asked to be moderators because we have always tried to help our fellow cruisers. We accepted because we want to keep the DCL forums fun and informative. It is by no means a way to be in charge.

As far as our two cruises planned. When we are posting on those forums and when we are on the cruise we our DIS'ers plain and simple (or in the case of this cruise DVC'ers as well). We are no better and no worse than any other poster. We do what we do because we love it.

If we helped others on the last Member Cruise - especially the newbies - than that makes us happy. What made us even happier was to see many of those new people step up and do things as well. Now they are here helping others. It is all about paying it forward. Yes we got some nice recognition on that cruise and it was wonderfully appreciated but that isn't why we did it. Off my soap box now. :)

Annmarie - something I didn't know last year about trip insurance is that with many of the companies if you buy the insurance within a certain amount of time of "paying" for the cruise they cover more in relation to preexisting conditions/medical etc. Both Matt and I are healthy, however, I didn't know why it was so important to purchase close to my date of cruise purchase (we paid cash last year) Also I think it's cheaper if you buy earlier than later.

I used insuremytrip.com and they offered several vendors for comparison. We will be purchasing insurance this year ... it just made me have more peace in my head (ok cause I'm crazy otherwise).

I can't believe it's only a short time till we phone in - I'm so excited and having so much trouble deciding what kind of cabin we want this cruise. Category 6 was great last time and we didn't really use the veranda so I think if we have a "window" we'll be good. I really liked being on the floor we were on also - right in the middle of the upstairs and the downstairs activities.

OK, I'll stop...

BTW, when did they stop selling the DCL Refillable Mugs!!!!! Is My Collection worth more now? Last Cruise they only had like Tea, Water and OJ at the beverage station....

Oh, yea!!! Thank you very much, ohana!!
I'm so excited now! :cool1:

Ok, one more question:
Are there other taxes or fees charged in addition to the posted rate? I know about gratuity and alcohol being additional on the cruise. But, are there other charges that need to be paid up front in addition to the cruise rate? Thanks!

All the taxes and port fees (not that there are any because it's Disney's port) are all included. For SSMC05 the recommended amount of tips were included also - you were able to give more if you felt it warranted it. Unfortunately the alcohol is still $$$$$, good thing for DCL they would have lost a bundle on Cindy if the konk koolers were free!!!! :teeth:

David - I've only been on SSMC05, however, on that sailing they had the DCL mugs as well - you were just purchasing the mug and not the soda as it's free on 9. We brought our own mugs on board (which was good cause at least I didn't have to find more space in our bags).

The deck 9 beverage station has Coke products, which is good for me, since I love Diet Coke!

Hey, chipscinderelly, I called them the people who you use, and they told me that they told me that they will not insure rooms booked on Points/airline miles. If you booked in the past for points with them, please let me know and I will call them back... They said unless we can trace it back ti a payment (like on a credit card) they won't cover it... YUCK!!!!

Travelguard is licensed by Disney as the tavel insurer. I don't think that there are any advanteges to booking early with them.

:jumping2:

I am curious about insurance too... I would prefer not to use Disneys.... but may just for the ease of it. ANyone know how much the insurance is???

Ok that made me laugh that it linked to my profile... funny.

Sorry - Hi - I'm Julie :earsgirl: and my traveling companion will be Matt :earsboy:

I paid cash not points - and that's good to know, I hadn't thought about that. Maybe I need to rent my points out :rotfl2:

Laura - we paid cash last year and were Cat 6 which was just over $2k for the 2 of us plus about $500 for airfare. Our insurance (purchased late) was under $200.

I'm definitely in 'there is NO leader' group. All Mary and I want to do is be the point of contact so everyone can find the info in one easy to find place.

To put a final answer on such things, I wrote this back on the last member cruise when it came into question...

http://disboards.com/showpost.php?p=9287101&postcount=3693

It still applies now, being moderator or no.

I personally live on the Hi-C Fruit Punch... :)

I Humbly Apologize For my comments. Mark and Mary...Please forgive me...

I did not mean to hit a sore spot.

OK, Now, Back to the insurance questions...
I called Travelguard, Here is how they compute the cost..
Take the number of points, multiply it by $5 a point. Take 5.15% of this value and that is the basic premium. For the Medical, add $3.65 per person per day.

So, for example a cat 5 room for 2 is 400 points. The insured value is $2000. The premium would be like $103. without the medical...

And isn't it great now that you don't have to purchase a drink mug to get what you like.
