I feel like if say I see Diana Lyn and go up to her and say "Hi Diana, I'm Ilene nice to meet you" She'll be like um yeah, Hi but not really know who I am. Then I'll feel stupid. So I hope I've made enough of a name for myself here so that when I do get up enough guts to introduce myself that won't happen. Once I get talking to people I'm fine but it's that initial intro that sometimes becomes overwhelmingAnd it's a little more so because so many of you already know each other and will be all huggy and stuff
I hope I can join in on your fun.
IleneF said:See now that's nice idea. How 'bout this one..you know the group photo they take, how about using one of the mats we talked about earlier and having everyone sign the mat for the photo to go into. I think I will do that. I didn't get into having the characters sign it but I think it would be cool to have all of you sign it. The problem is I'd have to carry it around alot...hmmmm

Oh Ilene - I don't think that you have anything to worry about!!! Actually, a lot of us are very shy in person (I know for a fact - myself, Diana, Cindy, Mary and I'm sure there are more). But, that's the reason for this thread, to get to know people ahead of time, so they aren't really "strangers" at all, but just friends that we haven't met in person yet.IleneF said:Speaking about shyness...OK here's the thing. He had a liver transplant 3 years ago and it started failing about 1.5 years ago and unfortunately found out six months ago he wasn't a candidate for another transplant. He is leaving behind two boys (sophomore and senior in high school). They are both taking this very hard. Even though they have had a few months to prepare it's still difficult!
I'm SO sorry to hear that!!! Prayers for your family as they go through this tough time!!!!BCVOwner2002 said:Time is slipping away!
Still have a lot to do! I just found out my work network is down until 7pm tonight so it looks like I can't finish the 2007 budget until tomorrow so I guess Tom and I have the day to ourselves!

We are all waiting to find out what his new wife is going to do for arrangements. She is thinking about having a service here in MA only so if this happens, my friend and the boys will fly up and stay with Tom and I. His wife said she wants him to be where the rest of his family is buried. It's going to be a crazy week!
BCVOwner2002 said:Come on! You're talking about Mary here! She can reach that post in a few days. Okay, why did I just get a flashback to the old game show . . . Name That Tune . . . how long will it take Mary to get 127 posts?
My problem will be remembering everyone's REAL names. If you came up to me and introduced yourself as Scratch42, I'd say Hey, it's nice to meet you. If you came up and said, Hi, I'm Janet, I'd think, ok, I know that name, but who are they again.Scratch42 said:Ok, since you and I are kinda like the new kids on the block! When I see you, I'll come up and introduce myself and give you a hug! That'll start the ball rolling!

And, I'm already questioning whether I got your name right?!?!??!

If you get that look from me, just tell me your DIS name and it should make the connection.Although Ilene, yours is pretty obvious -- a lot like Diana's (although Diana does prefer the Lyn part left off).
Amy is right, there are several of us who are actually shy in real life. Even knowing a lot of people on this thread, I will still get that anxious, nervous feeling when we first meet up. I do it all the time, even when I'm seeing someone who I see more frequently than once a year -- like Mary & Amy. That's just how I am. I also worry that we will be late for everything and anything.
I'm with you there, Stacy!!Stitch#1 said:Quiet Type!!
Some of the top 10 posters on this thread said they were the "Quiet Type". I'll never believe someone when they say that ever again!![]()

Yes, thank goodness for the DIS buttons that Mark & Mary make!!!!BCVOwner2002 said:I was thinking the same thing. Should I bring a cheat sheet? And then I remembered that the buttons have our DIS name and real name so that will make it easier for us.
