Cindy - funny story. Tom doesn't post here but lurks over my shoulder or I'll read him a post or ask him to come look at something. Well, last night he said I see these boys all the time. By the time we get to the ship I'm going to say, "Hey, I know you two!" and they'll probably run away thinking who is this strange man! I started to laugh but thought he's probably right! He sees your boys in your posts all the time and knows them by sight like many of us do but they'll probably be like - who are all these people!! :rotfl:
You wouldn't believe how many people came up to me last year and said, oh you must be Amy, I recognize the girls!! So, I guess that they are my little "nametag".

Ok, back to cleaning the bathroom!! I keep taking these mini-breaks to check the DIS (anything to avoid cleaning). :thumbsup2

I can cook...but the sewing part... :rotfl2: :lmao: And thats an understatement!
Same here.....the only "F" that I received in high school was the sewing portion of home ec!! :lmao:

Tom is making me get ready so this will be my last post this morning. :surfweb: He just told me this thread comes before anything else around here. :teeth: I forgot to tell you about my bad dream this morning!

The alarm clock didn't go off and I woke up at 5AM and our flight was supposed to leave at 6AM. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the airport but I still had to pack! I called JetBlue and they said that it was too bad but there were no seats available for me to fly out on Saturday. I called every airline flying out of Boston and Providence and no-one could help me. Then JetBlue called back and said they had two seats on a flight leaving Boston at 2pm and arriving in Orlando at 5pm on Sunday!!

We were going to miss the cruise! I woke up in a cold sweat and just told Tom about my nightmare. He said we are going to set the Mickey clock that we got from SSMC05 just to be safe. Then he said if we woke up at 5AM and missed our flight we would drive down! It only takes 24 hours! He said we may miss the DIS meet on Saturday but he's NOT missing the cruise!!! :rotfl2:

Ok, since you and I are kinda like the new kids on the block! When I see you, I'll come up and introduce myself and give you a hug! That'll start the ball rolling!

OH COOL, I'll be looking forward to it!

Ilene, please don't feel like that.

In fact, here's a quick story. Last year, they gave us trivia cards while we waited to get into the ship. It was a ice breaker exercise where you had to find people who fit the specific categories. We stood in line with a man & woman who mentioned they posted on the DIS all of 3 times I believe. Even though they only posted a couple of times, to this day, I still remember their DIS names and the fact that they really did post only a couple of times. I suspect there are others out there, reading our thread, who for whatever reason have decided not to post. It's really a nice way to get to know your fellow cruisemates now so if nothing more, we can smile and exchange a hi, how are you on the ship.

Thanks for sharing that, Cindy. I really AM looking forward to meeting you all, I think it will be such a special cruise!

What an awesome pic for your 11 day --- John and Gail --------there be pirates here

Looking forward to the members pirate night.

I know what you mean Ilene. The first meet I attended was the Member Home Coming. I met Mary and Mark who were so nice but I was shy and didn't really talk to anyone else. Throughout the event I saw several people wearing their DIS buttons but felt funny just walking up to them and saying, "Do I know you?"

Tom will talk to anyone but I'm usually quiet.

Ilene, here's my confession of the day. :guilty:

Annmarie, now that I know you were at both MH as well as on the the last member cruise, I can't recall meeting you. How weird is that?

I did the same thing with Gail. It wasn't until we almost sailed last year that I realized we had met at MH.

Ilene, you truly have nothing to worry about. :goodvibes

TOO FUNNY. Personally, I probably won't sleep, HAHAHA. Well actually I'd better because I have to drive from Rhinebeck, NY. Planning to leave at 2pm, arrive at home at 6:00pm, leave for airport at 6:30 for our late flight.
I'm just worried the car might break down or I will get stuck in traffic or BOTH. Sheesh, why did I do this to myself, I can still back out but I have a nonrefundable hotel ressie in Rhinebeck and my fiber addiction is calling me almost as much as my Disney addiction :goodvibes

That's exactly what happened to Diana & Amy last cruise. They both always have pictures of their girls in their signatures, not to mention that they always had strollers with them, so they were very easy to spot.

Don't worry, I won't have my mother bear claws come out at Tom, as long as he has his DIS button on. :disrocks:

A bad dream. It sounds more like a nightmare to me. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

See, it had a purpose. At least now you have a back up plan. ;)

Got some sad news yesterday. My best friend who lives in FL called to let me know her ex-husband (my cousin) past away. He died of liver failure. He had a liver transplant 3 years ago and it started failing about 1.5 years ago and unfortunately found out six months ago he wasn't a candidate for another transplant. He is leaving behind two boys (sophomore and senior in high school). They are both taking this very hard. Even though they have had a few months to prepare it's still difficult!

We are all waiting to find out what his new wife is going to do for arrangements. She is thinking about having a service here in MA only so if this happens, my friend and the boys will fly up and stay with Tom and I. His wife said she wants him to be where the rest of his family is buried. It's going to be a crazy week!

Sorry to hear that Annmarie.

Time for the nightmares of missing the cruise to start. I'm guessing you probably won't even need an alarm clock that night as you will be Too Exicted To Sleep!

Diana, Robin, Amy and whoever else has scrapping experience,

What do I do to the handles of the paint can to make them "prettier". I would take ALOT of ribbon to completely cover plus ribbon would have the tendency to uncurl over time. Any ideas?

I did make the "box" that Diana had made too, I made it to match the paint can. I haven't put anything inside yet except the little pieces of stanza from
"Under the Sea" cut up into small sections for each flap...definately a work in progress but it's fun, I'll admit it.

Ok, I just had to respond to this. The girls' bathroom is a Mickey Mouse themed bathroom and I have a wood Mickey wall hanging on the wall above the toilet. Well, Chris used to say that he had a hard time using that bathroom because Mickey is staring at him going to the bathroom. :rotfl2: Well, since our master bath is STILL being remodeled, he's forced to use the other bathroom. And, he just has to deal with Mickey "looking" at him. :rotfl2:

Ok, here's a couple of things that I have done in the past.

1. Take some coordinating fabric, rib it into strips and tie them around the paint can handle in knots until I've completely covered the handle.

2. Take coordinating ribbon and do the same thing, tie short strips of ribbon in knots around the handle covering the entire handle.

3. The cheapest option - take just a few ribbons and tie them around each end of the handle, so there's some decoration on either side of the handle, but you didn't have to use SO much ribbon.

I hope that helps. If you need a visual, let me know and I'm sure that I can find some pictures on two peas in a bucket's website.

Speaking about shyness...OK here's the thing. I feel like if say I see Diana Lyn and go up to her and say "Hi Diana, I'm Ilene nice to meet you" She'll be like um yeah, Hi but not really know who I am. Then I'll feel stupid. So I hope I've made enough of a name for myself here so that when I do get up enough guts to introduce myself that won't happen. Once I get talking to people I'm fine but it's that initial intro that sometimes becomes overwhelming  And it's a little more so because so many of you already know each other and will be all huggy and stuff :goodvibes I hope I can join in on your fun.

I'll know who you are! It's weird because you are out of your element. When I went up to Connie at SSR in August, I said hi I'm Diana from the DIS, she starts talking to me, then all of a sudden she goes--wait are you Diana Lyn!! :rotfl2: It took a minute to click, but she eventually knew exactly who I was!

Like Amy, my girls were my DIS badge last cruise!

Talking about shyness, last year we stayed at POR pre-cruise. We were running late for the DIS meet and Bon Voyage party, the boat was taking forever so I was in high gear, all stressed about being late....we get to DTD, I high tailed it over to where we were meeting and then all of a sudden I froze in my tracks--I've never met these people. I'm really shy. I started to panic.....I'm now literally feet away from the huge group about to hyperventilate. :rotfl2: Surely, me the shyest person in all the world can't walk up to this giant group of people!! We were like 30 minutes late. Then all of a sudden Julie is right in front of me talking like she's known me forever! I was ok after that. But for a bried moment that inner voice was saying "RUN!! No one has seen you yet!! You can run and they won't even know you were here!" I almost chickened out of the DIS meet! :lmao: I'm really glad I didn't! :goodvibes

It's 3am in Detroit and all is right with the world, well for a few hours anyway. We'll see if miracles happen sometime around 7pm tonight.
Congrats to you're Tigers and their win last night!

Here's hoping for that Miracle!
