Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

Does anyone remember this from staying onsite? There used to be a channel called the tip of the day. Last year I counted down the last 30 days of the cruise by posting one a day. At the request of a few 2005 cruisers I'll be repeating this count down this year. Here's one for today and then I'll do the rest starting at the 30 day mark.


If you haven't already done so I reall encourage everyone to get involved in the meets thread during these last 7 weeks. Sure there is a lot of fluff, but that is all of us just getting to know each other. In between there is great talk about the cruise (now that some info has come out about it) as well as some very helpful information - like Roxann organizing the party bus.

So let's make the next 7 weeks a celebration of what promises to be a fantastic cruise!



PS - some asked last year if I had saved the tips of the day so they could download them. Well I didn't last year but I have them all saved this year. I'll be formatting them and around the 30 day mark will put them up on the site.

Funny you should ask as that was something I was working on yesterday. Problem is that if you try to make it bigger at all it gets very pixelated. So then I thought back to the little mini-magnets that we made for everyone last year. Here's what I came up with:

Size will be about 2 1/2 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches tall. There will be one magnet in each families button bag.

If anyone wants to grab the image in its original size just grab the one out of my signature by right clicking and doing save as.

I know we are not doing MNSSHP but I did have one thought you might want to keep in mind. IF, if they close the park at 6 they are going to begin sweeping party goers to a section of the park and may not let everyone hang out by the flag pole, so be sure to watch the early reports and figure out if you need to meet elsewhere - wish we were joining you!

Hi everyone - just checked into GC.

Got a really nice room here and off to walk around Downtown Disney and already found the outlet for the parks here - not as nice as WDW outlets.

Off to the parks in the morning - just going to bop around and do my faves I think.

Travis is not out here right now - I've been told that he went back to Florida is only out here occasionally for training. So, guess I won't be seeing him after all. Sure hope he makes it onto our Member Cruise.

Heck of a rollercoaster ride today...glad it's over. I had applied for a position as a hospital lactation consultant and was offered the job at about twice what I currently make. I was going to keep 20 hrs at my current job and supplement with 32 hrs at the new job. That would have been alot of hours but they were pretty good hours only one day would have been 12hrs.
Anyway, human resources calls me today after I said I would accept the job and tells me I need to come and get a physical and they need my immunization record. I called my doctor...no record of immunizations. Then Then they said the job requires lifting. Well I just had a ruptured disk and stupidly said so And now they say I have to get a doctors release saying I can lift. I don't think my doctors will say that so I've probably lost the chance at being financially stable :-( Darn it!

Ilene, since you let the cat out of the bag--ask HR how much weight is involved. My friend is a lactation consultant and the only thing she lifts is babies--most do not weigh more than 10-15lbs and breast pumps and again they are not very heavy--I would guess under 5 lbs. I honestly can't see the weight being very high and I have faith that you could do it. Good luck

Ilene - you have nothing to lose by asking for specifics. As Jacqui said it could be light weights. You won't know until you try. Good luck - I hope it works out.

We are officially up to 45 passengers. I have kept the price @ $16.63 per person round trip because I am tired. I have gotten email from a few of you telling me to keep the change. I will keep the extra money for those that do not want it back and increase the tip to the driver or even a KK run. I will round-up to the nearest dollar the money that I owe for those that would like the money back. If I have not gotten an email from you telling me to keep the money I will return the difference to you on the bus.

I would like cell phone numbers for everyone who is riding the bus and will have a cell phone with them. This is just in case I need to locate anyone who is late or lost while we are trying to depart on the 22nd or the 26th. I have already confirmed a pick up time on the 22nd for 9:00 am and on the 26th at 9:30 am with the bus company.

Those of us that will be using ME to and from the airport can call with airline information into MS.

So sorry to hear this Ilene but as others have already said, it wouldn't hut to ask what the typical weight lifting would be. I really hope this works in your favor.
