We were actually trying to see what size my crocs are, in the dark no less!! But since I've worn them a lot, the sizing has worn off. So, it became like a challenge, we even tried taking a picture to see if the size would show up on them that way and I think that's when Gary stuck it in front of his face. I just might have to learn to use edit photos. What did you use again?

Looking at them now, they are W8 M6. Mary, what size are the ones you have that you can't wear because of your ankle? Maybe we can work out a deal.

Cindy - mine are W9, M7. You can try them out if you want. I used Picture It to edit that picture.

Oh Cindy! That's just not fair!! I don't even want to think about those types of things yet, but I'm sure that my day is coming!!

It goes to that old saying that 10% of the people do 90% of the work.

Here's the thing I was just talking about with Gary. I don't mind doing my share, Cameron doesn't mind doing his share. And, no one asked me to keep the boys in check. If it's just assumed because I'm there that I'm going to "babysit" next time I'll drop Cameron off and stay away. The boys who took off are the same ones who were in my den last year and didn't want to be there and had so little respect for us. So, what makes anyone thing that they have changed. I'm sure if I had caught up to them (not sure how I was suppose to do that with the garbage clean up and the fact that they ran ahead and my only choice would have been to run after them -- that would have been a sight ;) ) but what makes anyone think they would have listened anyway. My money would be on them just continuing on their merry little way.

I need to find out exactly what is expected of parents and that's why I have a call into the Scoutmaster. Then I'll be prepared for next time.

Cameron was beat last night -- went to bed at 7:30. I haven't seen him in bed that early in a very long time. Good thing it rained so his 4-8 shift was sent home early. Hopefully he won't be too tired today.

Good morning everyone! Getting a slow start after a very lazy day yesterday.

Good luck to everyone getting back to school, especially those starting in new schools.

I will next time I come over your way.

Just hide that soap because Gail may make me a good offer to pick it up! :rotfl2:

Good morning everyone! I was up until almost 3am working on getting ready for Phoenix. My theory was to stay up late last night to get stuff done, then today I'd have less to do, and maybe get to bed at a decent hour. And, since I need to be up tomorrow morning at around 4am, I thought that was a pretty good plan. I might need to pump in the caffeine to my system today to make it through, but I think that I can do it.

Off to keep working on laundry and get Emily ready for school. Plus, I need to go vote in our primaries today.

Sounds like you along with most people around here have a very busy day ahead of you!

Emma doesn't start preschool for another 2 weeks, so it's still summer vacation for us. In a way I wish it was this week because I'm anxious to get into our new routine and see how well it goes.

Amy - if I didn't go to bed until 3 am I would not be up now! Good for you! Hope you got everything done that you wanted. I'm sure you're looking forward to your trip.

Diana, thanks for those seemingly simple instructions, what kind of paper do I get? What kind of glue won't leave marks on the "right" side. I'm thinking to do it in black, yellow, red, white and blue. I'd love a crisp cut mickey if you could pop one in the mail to me and it wouldn't get ruined. This could be lots of fun.

If you go to Michaels or Joann's they sell colored cardstock by the sheet in about a million different shades. You probably won't need more than one sheet of each color if you get the 12x12, but you should probably get a couple of the main color just in case. ;)

Otherwise, in the craft dept of Walmart they sell pack of basic colored cardstock.

I used a regular Elmers Glue stick that said dries clear on it and it didn't bleed through the paper. Other folks on the craft board here on the DIS have used the Modge Podge and painted in on the can, stuck the paper on and decorated it and the Modge Podged over the entire can to give it a glossy finish and stick everything together really good. I may try the Modge Podge method on the smoke stack.

Amy, try and catch a nap with Madison this afternoon.

Have fun in Phoenix!!! :)

Cindy - it just isn't fair that other parents don't get involved with their boys like you and Gary do. You shouldn't have to babysit their unruly sons. Hope you get some satisfaction from the Scoutmaster.

For anyone who is interested I just cancelled our Seahorse Snorkel for the morning of 10/25. We had booked one for then and one for Monday afternoon since we didn't know what the DVC plans were. Now that we know the photo shoot will be Wednesday morning we've gone and cancelled. I was going to book bikes for us but they aren't showing up. I'm sure I'll be able to book them once we get on board. Otherwise we'll just chill for the day.

So if you were looking to book it and don't mind missing the photo shoot two spots should have just opened up.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I'm feeling some better today. This is my last day of "vacation." My job is a volunteer one, but tomorrow we start back with an all day workshop, then next week the preschoolers return. Thankfully, my sore muscles should be better by then! Now I have to decide if I should use this last day just to goof off, or should I try to get something constructive done. :confused3 Probably it will be a little of both.

Now I remember why I took Deanna out of Girl Scouts. If it's any consolation the same thing happens here. Some parents thought it was a babysitting service. We had one mom who didn't understand why she had to park her car and come into the school and pick up her dd. She wanted us to let her walk outside in the dark to a big open parking lot and find her moms car (this was when they were in 1st grade) Like Amy said 10% of the people do 90% of the work.

This is why I stopped being my DD's girl scout leader. After a couple of years I had enough. Too bad because I remember how much fun I had as a campfire girl, but that was almost 30 years ago.

So it's not just the people in this area that do things like that. I was a GS leader for 4 years, 2 years before I even had kids and then 2 when the girls were babies. I was so surprised how many parents used it as a babysitting service and expected me to do pick ups/drop off. And I won't even begin to talk about what it was like getting any parent to help me out with any event. I even had to cancel things because I couldn't get one other parent to come and be a chaperone. :sad2: It's so sad, but it's true 10% of the people do 90% of the work.

Mary,

Colour me Stupid, but since I've been away since Thursday, did we get another email regarding the Member Cruise?

Janet - we got one on Wednesday afternoon. You can see it up on the Member Cruise site (just click on the Member cruise logo in my signature).

Here is what it said for day 4 (bolding by me).
Disney Music
Whether you prefer to wish upon a star or sing along to "Hakuna Matata," you'll love Day 4 of our journey, a celebration of classic Disney Music. Start your day on a high note by joining your friends and neighbors for a Member Group Photo on Castaway Cay. And at night, don't miss your chance to experience a one-of-a-kind musical performance that will honor beloved Disney songs from the past and present.
