Update on Cameron's arm: Saw the specialist at Sick Kids on July 4 & 7 and they decided that the cast was likely not tight enough to hold the bones from moving around so they basically tried to reduce the fracture again (no they did not knock him out and yes it appeared to hurt like He**--Cameron was just screaming his head off) but afterward it was fine and the fracture looked good on the xray. So the plan is to leave the cast until this Friday-14th and if all is well then he will remain in the cast for 3-4 more weeks but if the bones have shifted again, then no choice but surgery. So for the most part, the summer is screwed and I have to find ways to entertain a 9 yr old who can not go swimming, go to camp, play sports etc--I think this will be harder on me than him!

Steve, I too bought a refrigerator from Sears--plugged it in, left it for 4 hrs and it cooled great. Went shopping bought like $200 in food (prior to this I was using our camping cooler b/c our 15 yr old fridge did die) filled the fridge and the next morning it was 75 degrees in the fridge--all the food was spoiled and Sears was telling me we do not have one in stock and it will take 5 days to have a new one shipped or a 3 day wait for a serviceman. Neither was acceptable so I took the new fridge option and thankfully no problems but it took over 4 months for Sears to reimburse me for the spoiled food--said the problem was a serviceman never came out to verify the problem (I guess the fact that they replaced the entire fridge is irrelevant!)

I did look around but no one had the great price Sears had (it was some mega sales event) so I was pretty much stuck with them. Glad you were able to get it all fixed.

Jacqui

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes. We're going out to dinner tonight at the Biltmore Inn, but booked the cruise to really celebrate! It is our 30th anniversary and last night at dinner I overheard the man at the next table say that he and his wife were celebrating their 30th, so I told him that we were too. He asked where we went on our honeymoon and told him Hawaii. His wife said "We went to Hawaii too!" Then she asked where we stayed. I told her I thought it was the Outrigger hotel. She said "That's where we stayed too!" When the waitress, who was working both our tables caught wind of this, she said "It really is a small world!"

No kidding!!

That really is strange and a small world coincidence.

My MIL & FIL had a flower business when Gary was little. They did flowers for many weddings -- including the wedding of the grandparents of one of daycare children.

I really think it's so neat to find out just what a small world we all live in -- being the earth is such a large place.

Jacqui, I hope Cameron's on the mend now. To go another couple of weeks and then resort to surgery will just be tougher on all of you again. I'll say prayers that he's finally on his way to being a normal 9 year old again.

It's going to be a long summer and I'm sure you'll both be glad that school starts up again -- in some ways. At least it will be something for him to do all day.

Oh Jacqui - I feel so bad for Cameron!! That poor guy!! Here's to hoping that this works and he doesn't have to have surgery.

Wow, you're right, it sure is a small world!!!

Jacqui - sorry to hear about Cameron's arm. Here's hoping this set works and that the summer isn't too long for the both of you!

Mary - that is very cool that you had such a small world connection. Enjoy your anniversary dinner.

Happy Birthday Alex!

Happy Anniversary Mary and Ken!

Ilene, glad you made it through the day at work. But, be careful. It scares me to read all you are going through.

Jacqui, I feel bad for your family and Cameron. I hope you can find something to allow for a good moment or few this summer.

Mary, it truly is a small world. The story is amazing. DH and I will be married 30 years in April, but we didn’t go to Hawaii for our honeymoon so the world is not that small.
:)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Mary and Ken

Jacqui, I hope Camerons arm heals quick

I hope everyone els has a good evening.

:dance3: Happy (belated) Anniversary Ken & Mary :dance3:

:cake: Happy (belated) Birthday Alex! :cake:

Well Mom & Dad are back from WDW. They did the MK one night when it was open till 4am and they thought "How many people could possible be here at that time?" Well they said it was mobbed! Very cool to be there at that time of day but there was a lot more people then they were expecting.

They did Vero Beach too and had picture of some of the renovations they have done since the hurricanes. They said they were talking with the CM and they told them that in the dining area the it was full of sand and crabs were running around everywhere, they said the sand was all the way in the kitchen and I guess the had to replace the wood flooring in the lobby because it got ruined.

Good morning everyone! :umbrella: It looks like it's going to be a soggy day in this neck of the woods.

Cameron's baseball season is officially over. They lost their game last night -- their second elimination. I'm surprised as I thought they were going to move into the world series game -- but it just wasn't meant to be. The kids had fun throughout the season, learned to play pretty well as a team so that's what really matters.

Cameron's in band camp this week. Pulling out the rusty trombone is giving him something to do and shagging him out of the house early in the morning. Today is day two, I expect to hear a little rumbling as he's rolling out of bed -- and I don't mean thunder either. ;)

A friend was over yesterday morning and we're in the yard. All of the sudden she says, is that a baby mouse over there? Sure enough, creeping towards the kids is one of Mickey's friends. :earseek: We have never had a problem with mice around here -- except for last fall and now. This is so strange, I have no idea if it's the same den of them or not (are mice in a den?) but they have got to go! I love Mickey and all, but this is not going to cut it around here. I can't have the kids playing in the yard with mice roaming around -- not to mention that I'll be of no help to them if the mice creep back along. Gary set the traps last night and caught a huge one. Who knows how many are back there but I don't want any. The one we saw ran into the neighbors yard. The neighbor on the other side is starting major construction tomorrow, adding a driveway and garage in the back so I'm a bit leary as to what else might be stirred up. Yikes!

Eewww!!! At least, for now, they are just in the yard and not in the house, like the one that we had a couple of months ago!!! Good luck getting rid of them!!!

Cindy, don't worry too much. We have a ton of mice in our yard. Our barn (really big shed where we store all the lawn equipment) is a breeding ground for them. There's always little baby ones in there. We actually have a ton of wildlife that calls our yard home---chipmunks, squirrels, mice, bunnies, even an occasional deer. None have found there way into the house (knock on wood) with the exception of 1 mouse and that was in the garage and Alex :cat: , my trusty feline took care of him promptly.

I have a crazy day here coming up, leading into a very crazy week. Today I have a bunch of kids coming over for a pool party at 11. Then at 3:00, I have to drive down and meet my dad halfway to take my sister for the rest of the week. I love my sister, I really do.....however I'm really not equipped psychologically to take care of a 13 year old girl along with a 2 and 1 year old. So Thursday, we'll be taking her to SixFlags. Then Saturday I'm having like 50 people here for my moms club family picnic. Again, how the heck do I get myself into this position!! My laundry from the trip isn't even all done and put away.

Anyone want to take a guess as to how many times Diana has said "how do I get myself into this"? :rotfl: :rotfl: Easy enough to stop, just tar your mouth closed next time the planning stages for something is going on! ;) Seriously, have fun -- it seems like even though it's a lot of work and sometimes stressful for you, it's something you enjoy doing as well.

I do enjoy it. In a way, I think I enjoy the stress of it all. My job was really stressful and I did great at it, so multitasking is kind of an addiction for me :rotfl:. I will be getting a bit of a reprieve for August. Our calendar planning meeting is on Friday and because Madison will be here, we won't go. That way, I won't feel compelled at all to say "I'll do it". :lmao: Then September school starts for Emma, so we just won't be available many days.

Good morning everyone. A bit late checking in today as I had to be at the hospital this morning for my yearly mammogram. That meant leaving the house at 6 am and I work up at 5:45!!

Okay - I just spent the last hour trying to figure out how to post a new picture of Baby Christopher - he's growing up so fast!!!
