Just wondering.............

Will DVC be offering any special deals to purchase more points on the Member Cruise? I seem to be getting an addonitis attack!

j

I would expect they would. Last cruise depending on how many points you bought you got a trip to Disneyland, Disneyland Paris or Hong Kong Disneyland.

There you go Janet! Wouldn't a trip to DL Paris fit in with your travel plans for next summer!:thumbsup2

Hi Everyone,

Just checking in:

Fireplug: sorry about your fridge and truck.

Chicago sounds fun - going to get back there eventually.

Just a boring weekend here, did some shopping.

Thanks Mary!

I'll hold off then!

I was gonna sign up for the Banana Boat, but checked the calendar and not a good week! I'll stand ashore and take pics instead!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Ken and Mary!

We're back, still recovering from a quick wekend trip and trying to catch up here. We also rode the new pirates and loved the additions - so great!

This MAY be my longest ever post. :(

We went to Sears on Sunday to "look" at new refridgerators. Ours was 20 yrs old and we were getting nervous. So we happen to like one and it happens to be ON SALE. $1900 and change later we have a 3 door with freezer on the bottom and a 5 year extended warranty signed, sealed and scheduled to be delivered on Thurs. between 9 and 12:00

Fast forward to Thurs.

The Sears truck pulls up at 12:30 and the new fridge is on it. Old one hauled out and new one in and plugged in Lights on and motor humming. Sear delivery guys leave. Temp gauge reads 82 fridge and 72 freezer. Over the course of the next 4 hours the fridge went UP to 89 and the freezer STAYED at 72. Multiple calls to Sears (including the store manager) resulted in my BP going through the roof. They himmed and hawed and tried to tell me a repair person would be ther on MONDAY. This was NOT cutting it, we argued more. This went on for 2 hours. I was so darn mad by then it was incredible. Sears final solution was they would have a repair person there FIRST thing Friday morn to try and get it running so we could take stuff out of coolers. AND a new fridge would be delivered on Saturday morning. Oh and a whole $100.00 for our troubles. Temp after 8 hrs fridge 84, freezer steady 72.

Friday I stay home and wait ..............and wait.............and wait.............
At 12:15 I call the local appliance store and they tell me they have a very similar unit in stock, wrong color but acceptable. I drove into town find it to be ALMOST identical and buy it. The owner say it will be at my house by 4 pm. I get home and call Sears manager and tell him what had happened. He was surprised that I had done it I told him to send someone to pick up their fridge, his answer: nobody at that store who can do it or vehicle to do it with. This is a LARGE mall based Sears not some fly by night catalog shop. The service center 1 mile away is just a plce to order your parts OR drop off things for repair. Not told to us when we purchased. I was incensed. I thought we had local service people but NO they come from 40 miles away. But the best he was willing to do was credit our account and have the other one picked up on Saturday. I told them to pick up the EMPTY box the first delivery guys had left in our driveway too.
New one arrives from local appliance store friendly delivery guys. Courteous service and they have their OWN repairmen if something does go wrong. Best part we save over $300 because their extended warranty was so much less expensive.
By the time we got home last night it was nice and COLD inside. We were thrilled.

Till this morning.............

On my way to work today I was at a four way stop waited for what I thought was all the traffic to go and promptly plowed into the side of another car. I was just SICK. I feel terrible. I never even saw him till we hit. My beautiful Avalanche is damaged and his passenger door was caved in. He was extremely nice and I apologized profusely. No one was hurt and I know................Thats why they are called accidents.
But it still bothers me that I didnt even see him. My mind must have been 1000 miles away. So now I am truckless and feeling very bad about it.
I hope you all have a better stretch of days than me.

Squid

Steve - so sorry about the accident. Just glad you're alright. Cars can be replaced.

As far as your fridge story goes, we just bought a frig from Sears twop months ago. I kept complainging to my wife that the freezer was too damp and it shouldn't be. She called Sears and they came over and determined there was a problem with a gasket, which they had to order a new one to replace. A few more weeks passed and no gasket. Freezer was starting to frost. So call again to Sears and they said they would replace the frig, which they did. Plus, they reimbursed us for the plumber to reattach the ice maker and external water dispenser.

It took me a while to get all caught up! We're home and trying to get back into the swing of things, but Bruce is home all week again and he has a way of disrupting the regular smooth flow of the day with the girls.

I can't wait for the banana boat!! Is there going to be a betting pool of who falls off first? Double pay out if that person doesn't get back on? I'd bet on me! :rotfl:

:cake: :bday: Happy Birthday, Alex :bday: :cake:
  Happy Anniversary Mary and Ken

Well first morning back at work went well. I got the shakes for some reason around 10am and I was kinda clammy most of the morning...wonder why, I guess it's just my body not used to being up and around again. I was excited to see I only used up my sick time and not my flex time, still plenty of vacation time available. So if I can work with this much pain I can certainly vacation with it. So I'm dreaming again of Disney in August (BCV), Grand Canyon in Sept and DVC cruise/WDW in October...YAY.

I say we all just jump off at the same time. :lmao: That way, we'll never know which one of us would have fallen off first, not been able to get back on and those on shore will never be the wiser. ;)

Of course, I'll watch you all go in, because who knows what's in that water. Remember, I'm the one who doesn't go past my knees in Hilton Head at the beach --- and we just watched Jaws 1 & 2 last weekend. :scared: I think that's going to be my incentive to get back on the boat.

Did I ever tell you the story about when I tipped out of a canoe? Gary, his daughter and I were fishing in the backwaters of the Mississippi. We saw all sorts of wildlife -- beavers, snakes, turtles, all creatures who belong in the water. So, I cast my pole out and snag it on a tree on the other side of the little area we were fishing. Gary paddles us over there and I start getting stuck by this low hanging branch. It keeps poking me in the head so I start to lean to the side and before I know it, I'm in the water. All I could think of was where was Sarah, and getting out of the water. Sarah, Gary & everything else managed to stay in the canoe because Gary kept hold of the tree who's branch was after me! Gary said I looked like the creature from the black lagoon when I surfaced. I had hit bottom, head first no less, and all the sludge and weeds were sticking to me. Gary said my eyes were the size of saucers. I took one look at the canoe and swung myself up into it. I was so bruised up from doing it -- for weeks it looks like something had grabbed and twisted my legs with all the bruises. But, I did manage to get back inside. That was many moons ago, and two children ago and there was a lot less of me then than there is now. I'm just hoping I still have the same motivation as I did then.
