2006 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC06 - October 22, 2006 Part 3

Forgot to mention that I will be staying at OKW before and after the cruise also.

Cindy, sure am glad that Walker's okay. Was it a Pyrex bowl? Those things really shatter when they break.

I'm leaving now to head for the airport. I'm flying to Orlando to meet Dana. I'll be staying at CS (gotta love that CM discount! We'll hang around there packing up her apartment on Thursday, then start home late on Friday after going to hear Mercy Me at the Zellwood Sweet Corn Festival. Don't think we'll make it very far on Friday. We'll probably do most of our driving on Saturday and Sunday.

We'll be back in Orlando for a mini vacation June 11-16. Dana has to report for her internship on the 14th. Staying off property this time at Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista. I'll try to check in here when and if I can!

I hope Walker is okay!

My DD and neighbors DD had a bike accident. They ran into each other Anyway, my DD got some concrete burns and a couple of band aids were used to help with the pain! A little ice and she was feeling better in a couple of hours. I think she will wear some pants next time she rides

Non-cruise related but I want to share something that happened in our house yesterday.

I was making the rest of lunch - veggies in the microwave. The kids were sitting at my kitchen table already working on most of their lunch. I took the veggies out of the microwave, walked over to my stove and proceeded to drop the glass bowl. Walker, who was sitting probably 10' from when I was standing, stands up and starts walking towards the bathroom. I'm saying, sit down, there's glass on the floor, when Walker tells me that he's been cut. Sure enough, a larger piece of glass flew across the floor and sliced into his leg.

We got the bleeding to stop but I didn't realize until much later just how deep the cut actually was. Gary & I butterfly stitched it last night and this morning, it's dry and clean, just in need of a new bandages once Walker gets out of the shower.

Freak accident, yes. I've always had it a rule that the kids are not allowed to be walking in the kitchen while I'm cooking. I think I'm going to take it one step farther and now not do any type of cooking while the kids are sitting at the table.

I had no idea just how far broken glass can travel.

Ok, first off, I'm in awe that you took care of it yourselves, I freak when the girls get hurt. Anyway, I know what you mean about freak accidents, and it's amazing how quickly it happens.

Amy, do they have Twisted Tea in Florida? If I was driving, I would be more than happy to bring enough to share, but I had a hard enough time keeping my luggage under SW's weight last time, could you imagine if I brought enough tea for my all my friends? And I really have to get Cindy to try some, she'll be hooked for sure!!

Actually, I've recently tried a new variety they're offering called Half N Half. It's half tea/half lemonade, kind of like Earl's lemonade, my ultimate favorite beverage in the world, with a little kick! Boy am I thirsty!!

Busy day today, I'm off to the gym, then I have to get all the info and stuff ready for my NYC trip tomorrow while the girls nap. If it stays warm today (it's been high 40s low 50s) we're going to go to our town's Memorial Day parade tonight, but I need to be home by 9 to watch the season finale of LOST! Then I'll be up at 4:30am tomorrow to get ready for my big TV appearance!! I hope I meet someone famous!! I bet I'll have some pics to post too!

I don't know if we have Twisted Tea, but I just might have to start the hunt for it. I love those types of drinks.

Don't ya just love that CM discount!!! We're going again in June with my neice for 2 days and staying with my mom and her discount. Plus, she still has one more day on her free water park passes for Blizzard Beach, so we're trying to find a day to go.

It is a great picture. On both of our cruises, they had to back in. I hope they can go in bow first this time.

If you read where it says to sign-up it tells that the Member cruise updates will be a part of the 'Vacation Magic Email Update' and that is the monthly update we receive every month. Could the cruise updates been part of that all along and because we didn't re-register after booking that's why we haven't heard anything? I mean, could it be a paragraph/section only for those signed up on the member website AND registered as sailing on the member cruise?

I don't think they have had much more to tell anyway because it would have been posted on the DIS the second someone received there update (gotta love that internet ).

Does anyone know for sure when the sign-up for the Member cruise updates was posted on the member website?

I went back and double-checked all my vacation magic emails for the months back to December and none said anything about the member cruise. I do have the January 3rd email specifically about the member cruise.

Cindy I was able to get it to work.

All you do is submit that you want the updates. Nothing else really happens...

I gave our email address for updates when we signed up for the cruise and then the first time there was information on the site (it was different then I think). It strikes me odd that they would have that info open to all when it's a wait list cruise, but then the lack of info strikes me odd too. If they were sending updates I am confident someone would have heard about it already!

Me, the non-planner now has our airline reservations for October.

Better yet, it's less than $600 for the 4 of us.

The only thing I'm a bit hesitant about is we're flying on USA3000 -- the airline we were delayed on in March because they didn't have a pilot. But, I'm going to be optomistic that all is going to work out.

We did end up having to juggle our plans. We fly down Friday, 10/20, arriving at 8:10 p.m. The kids will be able to go 1/2 day to school which is good.

We fly back on Friday, 10/27 so it looks like we are going to have to skip the Wishes cruise Roxann arranged. USA3000 only flys on Monday, Wednesday and Friday so the next flight out after the weekend would be Monday and I don't want the kids to miss another two days of school --- especially since that is a late night flight arriving at midnight in Chicago.



I ended up booking these flights because we have some friends who are going to Disney that same exact week we are in October. I made some DVC reservations for them and this morning, they called to change it based on the flights they were able to get on USA3000. So, not only are they staying at SSR for the week of our cruise (same as us after the cruise) but we are all flying down and back together. Crazy as that seems. This is a family that I cared for 2 of their children for several years. Their daughter is like Walker's sister as in they knew no difference than to be together. They were only 11 months and 7 months when I cared for her and I did until she left for kindergarten. I think I'm going to keep the flying together a surprise for Walker. I can't wait to see his expression when he sees one of his best buddies at the airport -- let alone to find out she's flying on the same airplane and also going to Disney World!

Is your popup blocker off? When I did it, I got a pop up window. Maybe that's it.
