Curt/Karen - so sorry to hear about Pudge :( I hope that sweep of the Cubs helped lift your spirits.

May your many happy memories of Pudgie get you through the sad times. '

We really enjoyed spending time with you guys yesterday and we can't wait to see you again in October!

Curt & Karen - I'm SO sorry to hear about the loss of your pet, Pudgie!! We have a kitty too, and I can't imagine how hard it would be to not see his face when we come home!!! :grouphug:

Also my sympathies on the loss of Pudgie,. My cat has been experiencing forgetfullness lately and acting off, he is 12 so I'm awfully worried about him.

Curt so sorry to hear about your losing Pudgie. Hope you have wonderful memories to help you through. I remember the first time we walked in our house after losing our Barney. It's such a void. I also remember hearing phantom noises and thinking it was him...who knows. Do something special in memory of Pudgie sometimes that helps.

As for my day...arrived at hosp at 11:30 got through registration/papers, went to dr's office, got through paperwork. Finally saw Dr. who wanted to
admit me but I told him seeing as I've been living with this pain for like 3 weeks already I didn't think it was necessary. He ordered a CT scan as I was in too much pain for the MRI and I will have to go back tomorrow for a EMG. The CT scan took only 4min compared to 35 for an MRI!!! I did take one percoset which did nothing very little for the pain, it just made me sleepy.
To be continued tomorrow I guess. Thanks for the prayers/concern everyone.

Finally grabbing a minute or two to post again.

Sorry to hear about your cat Curt and Karen - the longer those pets are around the more they are like family. I have a bit of a pet cemetary out back from all the animals the kids and I have had.

Keeping good thoughts for Gail - hope she's on the mend soon. And to anyone else not feeling well - pixie dust and good thoughts for you.

Steve - finally getting your pics out to you - I've been moving in slo mo lately and can't catch up no matter what.

Now to play one of these crazy games -

Not counting Disney in any way (including DCL) what has been your most memorable vacation? that would have to be my road trip out west and my stay in the desert with all the blooming flowers.

In honor or Gail - how many times have you been to the hospital? way too many times to count up - I was a real klutz as a kid and that has spilled over to my later years now

Do you have any regular summer outings you take? (Family reunion, festivals, etc.) not anymore

Do you have AP's to Disney? I most certainly do - it's my home away from home

Do you have a DDE card? yes - and I have just discovered a few restaurants to my liking

How do you capture your vacation memories: Film, Digital, Video? digital and video

  • Not counting Disney in any way (including DCL) what has been your most memorable vacation? DH and I went to Maui (before DD was born). We stayed in Kaanapali at the Whaler's Village. Loved our snorkeling, parasailing, wine tour, volcano tour, etc. etc. We ate some fantastic dinners! Maui is our favorite Hawaiian Island :thumbsup2
  • In honor or Gail - how many times have you been to the hospital? 5 times (birth, tonsilectomy, ganglionic cyst, fibro lymphoma, c-section)
  • Do you have any regular summer outings you take? (Family reunion, festivals, etc.) Not regular but we always go somewhere. This year we will go to the zoo and the Oregon/Washington coast and we have a long weekend trip planned for DL for DH's 38th Birthday!:cheer2:
  • Do you have AP's to Disney? YES! We have DL and WDW AP's
  • Do you have a DDE card? Not anymore because it has expired and we are using the DDP for the next two trips at least.
  • How do you capture your vacation memories: Film, Digital, Video? Digital. We don't take very many pictures anymore.

Happy Belated Fathers Day!!

Wow it looks like the Illinois mini-meet turned out great!!!! :cool1:
I'm so glad to hear everyone had a good time.

Hey Ilene - actually, you can just let Member Services know that you are going to purchase the DDP, while staying on points. It's that easy. Then, you pay when checking in.

I would say a family trip we took to Cape Cod for a friends wedding. Nick just loves the beach.

In honor or Gail - how many times have you been to the hospital?
Wow let's see
1. Viral infection when I was a like 8 months old.
2. To have my tonsils taken out and tubes put in my ears.
3 & 4. 2 different times for complications of my ulcerative colitis
5. the birth of Nicholas.
6 & 7. A two step operation for my ulcerative colitis (they removed all the bad parts which was alot) The formal name of the procedure is "Total coloctomy with an ileoanal reservoir".
8. Emergency surgery for gangrea of the small intestine
9. Complications from surgery #8 and gallstone attack (two weeks after #8)
10. removal of Gallstone to prevent pancreaitis (sp?)
11. Gallbladder removal and repair if an insicional hernia
That doesn't include some trips to emergancy care for kidney stones
(my sister's boyfriend jokes that they should just put a zipper on me)

Do you have any regular summer outings you take? (Family reunion, festivals, etc.)
Nothing regular but we like to go explore new places and musuems not to far from home.

Do you have AP's to Disney?
AP's of course (purchased withd the DVC discount)

Do you have a DDE card?
Nope, but we will be doing the DDP in October!

How do you capture your vacation memories: Film, Digital, Video?
Digital! We do drag the camcorder along and actually use it sometimes!

Spoke with John this am and then Gail this afternoon. Since Gail was feeling better they discharged her. They were too busy to do any non emergency surgery today. She is scheduled for laproscopic surgery on Wednesday. Don't have a time yet. She is on a liquid diet until then (she is wishing for some konk koolers).

For once I have some good timing. I sent Gail a Disneyland Rosebush for her birthday. It wasn't suppose to be delivered until Friday, but it was on her porch when she got home.

Carol

Thanks for the update Carol! Gail if you are reading we are thinking of you.

The Disneyland rose bush sounds like a perfect thing to cheer someone up!

Thanks for the update.
Well I guess she is lucky they can do it laproscopically, a couple of little slits for the whole procedure. Isn't modern medicine great. Those type of operations usually have minimal recovery time.
When they did mine they could not do it that way but they also took care of other things and knock on wood I was only in the hospital for two or three days I don't remember exactly and I was only out of work for two weeks .

The Disneyland Rosebush sounds lovely. :flower3: Luckily a goof worked in your favor.

Prayers and well wishes to Gail and Illene.

Curt and Karen - so sorry about your loss as well. We lost out "block head" cat last summer.

I hope everyone has a great week.....

Gail...
If you're reading this...I had my gallbladder out in 2001. They did it laproscopically and I was *supposed* to go home that evening. The only thing keeping me there was that Mike was on call and wouldn't be able to pick me up from the hospital until around 10:30 or 11:00 at night. So I opted to stay the night and go home the next day around noon. :) It wasn't so bad compared to "regular" abdominal surgeries that I've had. Much quicker recovery.....thankfully b/c I had a Disney trip scheduled 4 weeks later!!! :earseek:

Sending you lots of prayers and pixiedust!

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes! I am home right now, but will go back on Wednesday as Carol explained. Blood tests showed some infection in the liver and pancreas from when the stones were stuck (can you say PAIN). They are hoping that the antibiotics will take care of the infection before surgery. If all goes well I will be in and out on Wednesday. My oldest daughter works in the OR at the hospital I will be in - so it's time for her to take care of dear ole mom! The worst part is the liquid diet I will be on until midnight tomorrow night. Found out Captain Morgan's doesn't qualify as an acceptable liquid!;)

Thanks again for the wishes and pixie dust! John will keep Carol up to date on the progress and I'm sure she will keep you all in the loop. Wow, it sure is nice to have friends like all of you!

Karen & Curt I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Pudgie. It had to be so heartbreaking to come home to that. Remember, the memories will last forever.
