OK, here it goes!

  • Not counting Disney in any way (including DCL) what has been your most memorable vacation? If I can't include Disney, I'd have to say as a teen ager I spent a month in Europe with 12 girls and 2 chaperones, 16 years old, no cares, no worries, Daddy's credit card....life doesn't get much better than that! :lmao:
  • In honor or Gail - how many times have you been to the hospital? If we are counting ER visits, I couldn't even begin to count. I've always been quite accident prone. Let's just count for me in the 8 years I've lived with Bruce. 1--Having Emma, 2--Going into labor a six weeks early with Julia 3--Having Julia 3 weeks early 4--ER kidney stone 5--ER what we thought was a heart attack 6--ER what we thought was again a heart attack I can think of at least 10 other ER visits. But I've only had 3 inpatient stays!
  • Do you have any regular summer outings you take? (Family reunion, festivals, etc.) We go to Ohio every summer to visit Bruce's family. I dread it with an utmost passion. I've even tried to create emergency situations at home to try to get out of going.
  • Do you have AP's to Disney? No, but I will as of August!
  • Do you have a DDE card? Nope.
  • How do you capture your vacation memories: Film, Digital, Video? Like Cindy, we don't usually drag the video camera anymore. But I should now that the girls are doing memorable things. I shoot 100% digital now.

Not counting Disney in any way (including DCL) what has been your most memorable vacation? Our honeymoon in 1998, we went to Sandals in Negril, Jamaica. We got married on December 19th, but we waited to go on our honeymoon until after Christmas. So, we left on the 27th and didn't come back until after New Years! We had so much fun there, that we went back on our 1st and 2nd anniversaries.

In honor or Gail - how many times have you been to the hospital?
(1) When I was born (2) When I had my tonsils and adnoids out (3) When I broke my arm and was put into a 1/2 body cast because it was a weird break (4) Emily's birth (5) Madison's birth and those are only where I stayed overnight.

Do you have any regular summer outings you take? (Family reunion, festivals, etc.)Nothing regularly, but we do like going to the Taste of Chicago if we make it up there.

Do you have AP's to Disney? Of course, how could we not?!?!?!?

Do you have a DDE card? Yep, on that one too! Actually, you guys will get a kick out of this one. So, I didn't realize that ours expired last Sept, but we've been using it successfully since then. The card just has a date on it, not that it expires then, so I wonder if CMs just never looked at it, or didn't know if that was when it expired or when it was issued. In either case, when we actually did realize that it was expired, we got a new one.

How do you capture your vacation memories: Film, Digital, Video? Nowadays, it's primarily digital. Sometimes we bring our video camera, but 1/2 the time we forget to use it because we don't want to carry it around.

PD for Gail and Ilene! :wizard:

I'll answer the only two that are different for me than Mary:

  • Not counting Disney in any way (including DCL) what has been your most memorable vacation? A family road trip out nw to Boulder, Colorado when I was a kid. Riding up thru the flat ranch lands then up thru the Rockies, then getting up in the morning, walk out of the hotel room to a view north and south of the flat of the mountain range stretching out as far as you can see was just amazing.
  • In honor or Gail - how many times have you been to the hospital? Once. Got a very heavy faceful of boiling antifreeze when the radiator cap blew off on a car I was looking at. Was pretty nasty at points, but needed nothing more than just some careful skin care to heal.

  • Not counting Disney in any way (including DCL) what has been your most memorable vacation? This is hard, my kids tease that we've never been any where but WDW. I guess it would have to be a family vacation in NH. Not terribly memorable but lots of fun doing the touristy things.
  • In honor or Gail - how many times have you been to the hospital? Well not many at all until recently: kidney stones, gall bladder, two births, shock from family suicide, broken toe prior to WDW trip and a couple of heart attack scares (really just perimenopause) so I guess around 8
  • Do you have any regular summer outings you take? (Family reunion, festivals, etc.) My DD and I go camping for one weekend each summer with our popup. DH works and we just have fun :thumbsup2
  • Do you have AP's to Disney? Yes
  • Do you have a DDE card? Yes
  • How do you capture your vacation memories: Film, Digital, Video? Digital but used to be LOTS of film...DH owns a photo business :sad2:

Not counting Disney in any way (including DCL) what has been your most memorable vacation? That sould have to be driving to Nashville to pick up a friend from hs, and then driving to North Carolina to visit my best friend since 2nd grade. She has 4 kids, and I have the 2 girls, so we had an adventure.

In honor or Gail - how many times have you been to the hospital?I was in the hospital alot when I was pregnant with Krystina, she was almost born premature at about 5 months along, and they were able to stop my labor, and then I was in and out of the hospital after that, and then to give birth to haylee.

(Family reunion, festivals, etc.)we go somwhere just about every weekend...This weekend we usually do the Downers Grove Heritage fest, but the girls are with dad, so I am going solo! Usually a trip somewhere over the 4th of july, and then just things to keep us busy, waterpark, zoo, and lots more.

Do you have AP's to Disney? Of course we do!!!

Do you have a DDE card?expires July 31, and we are not renewing as we plan to use dining plan when we are there

What a wonderful picture of the Illinois group's mini meet.:sunny: You know I live right here in Orlando ( not more than 10 miles from WDW) and I would love to meet some DIS folks at one of the parks, just let me know! I am also a cast member at Artist's Palate at SSR ( only part time) so if you are staying there, you can look me up! :Pinkbounc Connie:Pinkbounc
Connie, my DD & I will be at SSR July 14-18. If you'll be working on any of those days, PM me and if possible, I'll look you up!

Not counting Disney in any way (including DCL) what has been your most memorable vacation? On our honneymoon we went to St Thomas and Barbados. While we were in St Thomas the people at the resort told us that there was a little storm coming and they proceded to board up everything. We called the airlines and they told us that there was a Cat 3 hurricaine comming and we should leave as soon as possible. We were on the last flight out of St Thomas and went to Puerto Rico where Hurricane Marilyn did less damage. Three days later we made it to Barbados where there was a little damage. Many places on St Thomas were wiped out. We were lucky to get out when we did.

In honor or Gail - how many times have you been to the hospital? Overnigt for the births of my dd's and outpt surgery twice. Once for a partial removal of my meniscus from my knee and once for my gallbaldder removal. I found out I had gallstones while I was pregnant with Brooke and was so sick for most of my pregnancy. I couldn't wait to get it out.

Do you have any regular summer outings you take? (Family reunion, festivals, etc.) We usually go to Detroit Zoo

Do you have AP's to Disney? Yes

Do you have a DDE card? Yes

How do you capture your vacation memories: Film, Digital, Video? Mostly digital

Gail and Ilene I hope everything works out for both of you. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I got tickets to Jimmy Buffett today. They sold out in 3 min. The concert isn't until Sept 12. Tom said that is what he wanted for fathers day and his birthday. He didn't think I would get them. I was very lucky.

Diana love the new picture.

Sounds like you all had a great time at the meet. I wish we could have gone.

First, warm thoughts are going out to Gail and Ilene. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Not counting Disney in any way (including DCL) what has been your most memorable vacation? It would have to be the trip we took to Durango, CO where we stayed at a riding ranch. Great horses, great food, and great families to hang out with. Not to mention the cool Colorado air in the middle of July!

In honor or Gail - how many times have you been to the hospital?1) When I was born. 2) Had a cyst removed from my eyebrow in second grade 3) 28 days prior to the birth of my twins, and about 7-10 after the birth due to complications.

Do you have any regular summer outings you take? (Family reunion, festivals, etc.)Ken's family has a reunion every year, but it's at a church just 3 blocks from our house, so I don't know it that really counts.

Do you have AP's to Disney? You betcha!!

Do you have a DDE card?Yes, I bought one last year and just recently renewed.

How do you capture your vacation memories: Film, Digital, Video? It took me a long time to make the switch from film, but we're all digital now.

I know that some of you had to have watched Treasure Hunters last night. Did anyone play the online game? It says I have completed they first challenge and there is a place to put your answer. I am guessing that is the place to put your final answer. Is that correct? I just don't want to do it wrong. The first challenge was really easy.

:surfweb: Good Morning Everyone,

Karen and I got in from our baseball road trip at 12:15 thanks to the construction west of Kalamazoo, so much for that fantasy statement about being in chat last night. HA:lmao: .

LOTS to catch up on & some to share.

(1) A very BIG :thanks: to Mark & Mary for braving the downtown and ‘burb traffic to haul our butts for the Mini-Meet. We had a great time, (until I WAS asked to break down the bill :scared1: – for all our sakes I quickly deferred to Karen’s accounting skills). More thanks going out to Cindy & Gary, Cameron & Walker (Cameron falling asleep while sitting at the table was priceless – Sorry for causing the early start buddy!) Tina & her girls, Krystina and Haylee, for getting up at what we consider an ungodly hour to go out to breakfast with "strangers." Everybody make the morning a wonderful experience to remember. :thumbsup2 I’m sure I caught one of the women at the next table over tuning into our conversations about Disney and DCL experiences.

(2) Well wishes going out to Gail. See if the hospital has WiFi. This will keep her from getting bored. BETTER YET – Get WELL soon!!!!

(3) Our most heartfelt sympathies go out to Mary and the loss of her Tigger.
In a way it was a bad weekend for a lot of Dis’sers, us included. On Thursday we lost (to a ruptured tumor) one of the best cats ever to roam the earth. Our Pudge. First cat I had ever seen to play catch, she was a smart one! This made the trip to Chicago very bitter sweet for Karen and our return home this morning was a major reality check when Pudgie didn’t come to meet us at the door. A few (hug smiley) and a few tears to fall asleep on.

(4) Moving on – who wants sad reality in their Disney dreams? Yuck!.

For those of you interested in what kind of adventure Karen and I set on this weekend, allow me to describe a little for you. We booked a tour offered by the Detroit Tigers to bring fans to the Cubs – Tigers series. We had an incredible time walking around Chicago and experiencing the magic that is Wrigley Field. Growing up in Chicago it was just a sojourn for me down memory lane. Fantastic!

I’ve said enough. I started this at 10am and thanks to a phone call from a new friend I have dragged this into the afternoon. Everyone – Have a GREAT DAY!

I'm sorry about Pudgie. pixiedust:

Curt & Karen,

My most heartfelt sympathy to you about Pudgie. I actually hesitated to post about Tigger because I know that Karen has a soft spot for cats in her heart. :grouphug: to both of you.
