Happy Father's Day to all fathers. I hope y'all are having a good day.

David finally got his "daddy time" again after weeks of other plans interfering. After I made breakfast - Mickey Waffles - for all of us (which by the way I don't do often) David took Ian to Home Depot for some quality guy time. Then they drove around for a couple hours while Ian slept. The rest of the day as just been quiet and relaxing around here.

On the other hand, yesterday was crazy busy for us. David had to work as usual. But I got a desperate call from his mother while Ian was eating breakfast. She needed help packing for their 2 weeks in Europe. Mind you, MIL & FIL go there at least 3 times a year for 2-3 weeks each time. But for some reason she was having trouble getting everything to fit in their suitcases this time. So I packed up the rest of Ian's breakfast, loaded him in the car still in his pajamas, and headed of to rescue MIL. I got her to reduce the amount of clothes she was taking but mostly organized the items more efficiently in their suitcases. In the end she had plenty of room left in each of their suitcases just in case. (Now I know where David gets his packing "skills" from. :rotfl: ) Once Ian and I got home I still had to give him a bath and feed him lunch so he was ready to take his grandparents to the airport. And in the late afternoon we had a local DISMeet. It was lots of fun as usual. I think we were there for 3+ hours. Ian slept through the meal so he got dinner when we got home.

Mary: Sorry to hear that you lost Tigger.

Amy: Emily looks great!

Glad to hear that everyone had fun at the meet.

Hi everyone! We had a great time at our breakfast mini-meet this morning! I'll have a picture later but for now here's a quick recap.

After Church Mark and I headed downtown. As we were getting off the highway we called Curt and Karen to tell them we'd be there in few. They were already down in the lobby waiting for us. A few minutes later and we were pulling up in front of the Westin and they were outside waiting for us!

We were right on scheduled and headed to our meeting place in Niles. It was great finally getting to meet both of them and we spent to trip getting to know each other. When we got to Omega's we found that Cindy's family (Cindy, Gary, Cameron and Walker) were there was well as Tina and her daughters Krystina and Haylee. They had already checked in and asked for a table for 11. Soon as we got there we were seated - timing worked out great!

First order of the day after introductions was, of course, breakfast. I saw Walker had a tray brought to him with a selection of cereals, lots of eggs being ordered by Tina and her girls, Gary had some yummy looking pecan pancakes, Curt and Karen had belgium waffles, Cameron and I had omlets, and I think Cindy had one of the skillets like Mark. Each person was also brought a nice piece of coffee cake. Not sure if this is because of Father's day or not. All in all we had the table full of yummy food!

Breakfast conversation was of course the cruise and life on the DIS in general. After eating we passed around the 3 circle journals that I had brought to pass on to Cindy. I think the CJ's really gave a good idea of the fun we had on SSMC05 to Tina and Curt/Karen.

By now we had been given the check and we could see that the place was full and they were waiting out in the lobby for tables. Karen was wonderful at figuring up what each family owed and then Curt paid the bill. We stopped out in the outer lobby and asked one of the gentleman waiting if he would be out photographer.

We then said our good-byes. Tina was taking the girls to their Dad's for Father's Day. Cindy & her family were headed downtown for some fun. We drove Curt & Karen over to Wrigley Field for their last game of the weekend (they are headed home via bus right after the game). Mark and I went and did grocery shopping and then kind of crashed for a while.

All in all a great morning. It is always a pleasure getting to see Cindy's family and we really enjoyed meeting Curt, Karen, Tina, Krystina and Haylee! We are all going to have such fun in October!

Wonderful recap, Mary. :thumbsup2

Your right on about everything. I did have a skillet -- the gypsy one with the mushrooms in it -- I know those are yours and Cameron's favorites. :teeth:

It was nice to get to know everyone. Walker was a bit antsy to get moving at the end of breakfast. We stopped by my Mom's for 1/2 hour as she lives just down the street from there and then headed downtown. We walked around Millenium Park. Walker tried the fountain -- but it was just a little chilly today to do a full dunk. Then it was off to get him a hot dot -- that bowl of lucky charms for breakfast just didn't cut it for the long hall. We walked along the lake front and then as we were heading towards Buckingham Fountain, the rain really started to come down. So, we called it a day and headed back home.

Cameron is now up from his 2 hour nap -- the life of a pre-teen.:confused3 I headed off to the library and Sam's Club. Walker is watching a movie. Gary is copying pictures from one PC to the other. If I had the energy, I'd suggest going off to a movie. Maybe once they are all done snacking on the M&M (as in Mark & Mary -- not Mary & Mark as I heard from Walker today ;) ) favorite snack in our house -- a veggie tray with dip -- we'll do that.

Hey everyone - after a nice afternoon nap (for me and the girls), I'm back to show you guys some pictures of our adventure at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. It really was a lot of fun.

I have heard of the Cool Dude package, but didn't see them advertising anything about it. But, I can tell you that while Emily and Kailey were getting beautiful, there was an older lady and her older daughter getting done too. So, it is truly for all ages!!

Amy, awesome pictures!!

I'm going to have to look into the Cool Dude package!

Emily must have loved it!

Hi all. It's gloomy and cloudy here today and it's somewhat that way in our hearts too. We said goodbye to Tigger today. I had hoped we could wait until Monday, but this morning it was obvious that she was in a lot of pain, so I called the vet's office, left a message, and he met us there at 1:00 to euthanize her. He told us we made the right decision. Ken's dad has a little grove of pine trees behind his house that has served as the family "pet cemetary" for years, so we took her there and buried her. Some tears were shed, but all in all I feel better knowing that she's no longer in pain. I actually think that she just held on until we got back from WDW to really start to go downhill.

Mary, I am so sorry.

On a happier note, Ken's aunt and uncle are home from the hospital. They both need canes to walk, (but my goodness, they're in their 80's!) but otherwise are doing well.

Glad to hear they are improving! pixiedust:

How'd you guess? :rotfl2: Yup, 18 is my new favorite number! :Pinkbounc

Darn it! I should have bought a lottery ticket this morning. :charac2:

Let's see how I am at predictions. Hmm, hold on, it's coming to me. Just one more second, I see it, two numbers, right together. It's a 1 followed by a 7! OMG, that's it. 17. I predict that will be your favorite number next week!!

Running out now to place bets. :drive: (where did this little guy come from, he's cute!!)

Amy, those pictures are adorable!

Wow, did I conk out! :faint: Been running around a lot the last couple of days, first for work, then for fun, and it all caught up after we got home from dis meeting then grocery shopping. Lay down and immediately out cold for hours. Was worth it, the meet was fun!

Here's the pic from our camera post breakfast:

From L-R: Tina & dd Krystina & dd Haylee, Mary & I & Bear, Cindy & Gary & ds Walker & ds Cameron, Curt & Karen.

The Tigers, which is why Curt & Karen are in town outright trounced the Cubs, so I think they had a good day. Well wishes for them for the tour bus ride home, as the weather back towards Detroit doesn't look all that good.

Thanks, Mark. I would have posted my version of the same picture, but the main computer is a bit tied up right now.

I'm glad to see that Bear made it in the picture. He popped out for a second at breakfast and we were talking on the way downtown that we didn't even get a chance to take a picture of him.

Safe travels to Curt & Karen. pixiedust: I did hear the Cubs were losing when I was out shopping. Being we have a White Sox fan in our house, the Cubs losing is always a topic of delight around here.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

We had 'the talk' just last night about Penny, our Dalmatian. She's 13 and every day it just gets harder and harder for her to get up and down the stairs. It's to the point now where she has to get carried up them just about every time and she's about 80 lbs, so I can just barely do it. she just about completely deaf and I really don't think she can see well, but she's still happy and eating and even tries very hard to chase a chipmunk or bunny every now and again in the yard.

It's amazing how huge a part our pets have in our lives.

On a happier note, Ken's aunt and uncle are home from the hospital. They both need canes to walk, (but my goodness, they're in their 80's!) but otherwise are doing well.

I'm glad to hear they're doing better!

Great picture Mark! Glad to see Bear made it too. Also especially nice to get to see Tina and her girls for the first time!

I'm liking the number 18 too, but can't WAIT until we're in the single digits!

It sounds like the Chicago meet went very well!! party:

Amy--Emily looks like a real princess!! That sounds like so much fun! princess:

18 weeks huh? I want to loose another 15 lbs to hit my grand total of 45 lbs....that's a pound a week, but that means I can't gain anything when I go to Hershey in two weeks. :guilty:

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's!! :groom:

We got up this morning bright and early and headed out to Six Flags. Because I'm a season passholder, Bruce got in free today. We got there when the park opened at 10 and we did all the kid's rides in the Bugs Bunny section by 11:30 and then had lunch. It was 96 degrees in the park today. 96, yup, it was me, who just last Sunday wore gloves and wool socks to mow the lawn. We headed over to the water park area, where there were news cameras everywhere (cameras + bathing suits = BIG NO NO!!) but we played for about an hour and a half and then the park was really really crowded. We headed home and went for a dip in our pool!! :boat:

Diana, sounds like you had a great day! I've also lost some weight and gained some again. I lost 30lbs from December to March and then seemed to fall off the wagon and gained 10 back. I'm going to try really hard to lose some more by cruise time.

Amy, your daughters are beautiful. Thanks for letting me know about the older woman and daughter...hmmmm.

Mini DIS meet sounded like fun...when is eating NOT fun  and the picture came out great.

Mary so sorry for your loss of tigger. I hope you have lots of fond memories to ease this difficult time. We lost our 13yo Soft coated wheaten 2 yrs ago and it was awful and sad. We now have TWO terrific 2yo schnoodles that fill our hearts with tons of love. Pets really work amazing magic for us humans but it is so hard to deal with their relatively short lifespans.

I wanted to let you all know about a special that Mousesavers is advertising. If you go to disneyshopping.com they have Mickey luggage on sale. It's a three piece set that has a 25", 21" and duffle bag (I picked red but comes in black too) normally selling for $99 on sale for $40 plus there is a discount code for 10% more off. I needed luggage so this worked out good for me. I noticed it is made of 600 denier and has self repairing coil zippers. These are supposed to be good things so I took the plunge. I also wound up buying the mickey icon chandelier . Our house is just a little Mickey oriented
Well just thought maybe someone else is looking for luggage and this might be helpful.

Stitch#1Hey the Field Museum looks interesting said:
Stacy,

It has been years since I've been there, but my daughters just went with Day care of Thursday and loved it! I want to go for the King Tut exhibit. The girls were really excited to see Sue again! They went with school the year Sue was unveiled, and have been wanting to go back, but we don't make it downtown too often. If you have any questions about the field museum ask away, I'm sure the girls know the answers! LOL

I absolutely love that chandelier!!

The luggage is a great deal too. I like the red set! We just got new luggage 2 Christmas ago from my Dad or else I'd be getting it!!

Diana - cute new pictures of the girls. Only thing is you can't see how really cute they are in it!

Ok...I'm going to try to catch up from the weekend...Here goes!

Amy..Welcome back...and the pictures of Emily look amazing...I wish my girls would do that, but they probably would tell me its for babies! LOL :rotfl2:

Mary...So Sorry to hear about Tigger.

Mary...Wonderful recap of breakfast this morning! I really enjoyed meeting all of you this morning, the girls and I had an excellent time! We can't wait until October...Only 18 weeks to go!

Mark...Thanks for the great pic!

Amy - what great pictures! I love the one of Emily's photo session! She looks like Miss America!
Thanks Mary!! She really loved being like a princess. Heck, they both didn't take out their princess "hair" until today after church. And, that was only because they wanted to go in the pool.

The funny part is that it is only for kids 3 and up. But, when Emily was all done, Madison climbed right up onto the chair, like it was her turn. But, Emily's Fairy Godmother-in-training caught on quick and sprinkled Maddie and even quickly painted her nails to make her feel like a princess too.

ahhh - how cute. Glad to hear Maddie got a little bit a glamour as well. Looks like Disney has a winner with the BBB!
