First off, safe travels to Mary & Mark and anyone else on the road/in the air/at sea this weekend. We're not going anywhere until October so I really enjoy hearing about everyone's plans and trip reports.

Now for our big news. Work has begun on out garage expansion. It was a shock to me to see guys pulling up bushes this morning - I really didn't think it would happen until next week. The permit should be posted by this afternoon so the reall work can begin. I still can't believe we're really doing it.

We're adding a 3rd car bay to the garage. And with that we're finishing out the attic - 2 rooms, a full bath, and two storage closets/rooms. One of those rooms will officially be my scrap/craft room. Because we're not raising the roof, we're going to drop the ceiling in the garage a few feet so there's actually decent sized space. The walls are going to be 4.5 feet vaulting up to 9 feet. That means only low shelves, but my room is going to be huge - 15.75' x 16.75' - with lots of natural light.

Wow Robin - that looks awesome!!! Good luck with the renovations!!!

Welcome Back Karen (and Curt)! Your Chicago weekend sounds like fun - I hope the Cubbies winning won't ruin it :) LOL (just kidding).

When are you guys going in July? We hope (cross our fingers) to be there for wedding planning with the moms and the sibling but it's sort of up in the air. Jeff - we should meet for a beer if we can!

Mary and Mark - have a blast!

My parents fly in today from Houston and are spending time with us until Sunday so we will probably be scarce till then.

Hey everyone - was anyone on this board a Mexican Riviera cruiser on the Magic last summer???

When we were at the CM store with my mom a couple of weeks ago, the cashiers were giving away DCL - Disney Magic - Mexico postcards. She put 4 of them in my bag, and since I didn't go on that cruise, I don't have a use for them in my scrapbooks. But, I thought that someone here might have. If you want one, let me know. I'm also going to post this on the main cruise board. Hopefully, someone can use them.

Hey!

Just in case, FYI, Southwest has opened up until October 27, 2006!

I got my flight booked there, and coming home, oh well, will have to wait!

Hey Diana - I know what you mean. Just keep your eyes out for when SWA sends out those "Featured Destinations" for Orlando. Then, they usually have specials. I've noticed that SWAs fares haven't been that great lately.

Drum roll please!!!!!

:rockband: :rockband: :rockband:

:woohoo: :woohoo: Congratulations Amy on post #9000! :woohoo: :woohoo:

:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

I know she couldn't have done it without each and every one of us!!!

Congratulations to a great bunch of fellow cruisers!!! :disrocks: :disrocks: :disrocks:

Drive to Chicago and fly down and back with us?

:cheer2: Congrats Amy!! :cheer2:

YEAH!!! 9000!!! Quite an achievment considering we're still 5 months away from cruising!!!

I've been going through my digital photo files and came across this picture of DS during our last DCL cruise. He was 6 at the time, and he's 11 now, so he's lost the little boy cuteness. This was taken between the elevators. I really like the colors. I have a better camera now, but this photo isn't too bad. They sure do grow fast, don't they?

Wow, I didn't even realize!!!

And, you're right Cindy, 9000 posts couldn't happen without everyone getting to know each other on this thread.

:cheer2: Cheers to an AWESOME group of DIS friends!!! :cheer2:

Wow Stephanie - what an awesome photo of your son!!! I'm with you, I love the colors of the gold contrasted with his black outfit.

And, I didn't realize until just now that I broke the 3,800th post. Only 200 more until 4,000!!!

Stephanie, your son was so handsome when he was 6. I bet he's turning into a real heart

throb for the girls now.

Oh, and your right about them growing up so fast. Ian just helped me grocery shop - he picked out peaches & an orange - and he's only 17 months old.

Stephanie, he is absolutely adorable! And that is a great pic! The scrapbooker in me would have a great time making a layout for that because the colors are awesome! :rotfl:

I'm betting we're going to TOP 20,000 by the time we sail without even trying! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :cool1:

What a handsome little man you have there! :)

My older son, Cameron will be 12 when we sail. Stacy's son Nick is also right around the same age 11 or 12. I'm sure they will meet up in the Lab. :cool1: :cool1:

I just received a call from MS. :cheer2:

Our waitlist for BWV came through for the 1 bedroom for our night after the cruise. So, we're moving a little closer to EPCOT & MGM.

We are still waitlisted for the BCV or VWL if either of them come through we're jumping ship again.

Usually I don't care that much where we stay -- but Roxann had a good point about VWL being close to the MK for MNSSHP on Thursday night. The night we were at the MK with Cheryl & Todd in March, Gary & Todd had to hunt down someone to get the cars out of valet after we left the MK late. So, I do agree with the convenience of being there. And, I know my kids would love SAB.

Yeah! Good for you Cindy! :woohoo:

I checked on our waitlist again and no changes. I am okay if nothing comes through, but it would be nice to be closer to Epcot or MK. ;)

Mark and Mary have a Magical time on your FREE cruise! :woohoo:

Gail I hope you enjoy DL and the DLH. We have used points twice this year for DL. We stayed @ DLH one trip and GCH the other. Our next trip in July will be off property. We have pretty much blown our points for this year with the exception of having enough to cover our waitlists if they come through.

So far this week I have been able to confirm BCV for 5 nights in December. I have to call Tuesday to try for the last 2 nights. Sending pixie dust my way! :wizard:

Karen - I am sorry that your trip was not what you had envisioned. We had a family reunion last May. We used our points for 5 nights in a GV @ OKW with DH's family. WOW!!!!! What a HUGE mistake! People were not getting along by the second night. DRAMA and Alcohol. By the last morning DH had kicked out his brother and girlfriend. Everyone else packed up and got the heck out of dodge. NEVER AGAIN! A trip I will NEVER forget! :furious: On a brighter note we now have less people we want to invite down to WDW to share our DVC points with! :lmao:
