Curt's a cool guy, not quite as crazy as he appears on the thread but still cracks some good one-liners.

I beg to differ. He's insane.

Jeff - Thank you for the SSMC05 DVD that you gave us. We haven't had a chance to sit down together and enjoy it as of yet, but we're looking forward to it. It was very kind of you to make it for us. :goodvibes Also, thanks for understanding about not being able to get together while we were down there. Just wait until July!

All in all, it was probably one of the best trips I've had in a while - never did spot Curt and Karen who were also there.

Mary - I'm sorry that we never had the chance to meet up. I'm really glad that your trip "home" was so wonderful! Ours - not so much. In hindsight, it's actually good that we weren't able to get together, as it may have put a slight damper on your trip due to some things happening in our party. :sad2:

Are you still up for Panera sometime? :chat:

Well, Curt was very kind when he said that our trip with my nieces was one that we wouldn't soon forget. I was so looking forward to this trip! I couldn't wait to treat the girls to a week of pure happiness! What a disappointment. I won't go into any details, but this trip ranks right up there on the terrible meter with the trip on which three of my animals died. It's so sad how one person can ruin something so entirely for the others in the party. I didn't think that anyone could ever take the shine off of Disney for me. Unfortunately, I was very wrong. :sad2:

On a brighter note: :sunny: Curt really had a wonderful time doing his Dive Quest tour! I was so touched when he communicated his "sappy" feelings for me, and he was the hit of the tank, goofing and clowning for one-and-all! (Happy belated birthday, Sparky!)

More than ever, we're looking forward to our trip "home" in July! It can't get here fast enough, and I'm confident that all of the magic will be restored for us once again! ::MickeyMo

I almost forgot! I'm beyond geeked about a weekend trip that we have coming up in June! :yay: A little information:

I am a baseball fanatic. I love love love(!) my Detroit Tigers. (In fact, we're going to a game later tonight - no Chat for us!) As you are all aware, Curt grew up a Cubs fan in Chicago (sorry, Cindy). Welllll, we are going on a road trip with "My Boys" to Chicago to see them play the Cubs at Wrigley! I'm so excited! We'll be on busses with former Tiger greats, staying in the same hotel as the team, attending two games, and, having brunch with the players! I could (and have done so) scream I'm so excited!!! :bounce:

Also, our Friday and Saturday night will be our own, so if any of you Chicago folks are interested in getting together... :confused3 We'll be there June 16th-18th.

Thanks for listening. We now return you to our regularly scheduled broadcast...

Hi from the beautiful Disneyland Resort Hotel!

Our flight was delayed 1 1/2 hours - yes, we spent that time on the plane waiting until they reopened the airport, then we had a 4 hour flight from Detroit to LA. Bad storms were coming through the area and they stopped all flights coming and going for a while.

What we have seen of the Disneyland Hotel is beautiful. We are staying on our DVC points and found out that they upgraded our room and Carol's room to a pool view room. We are in the Sierra Tower - 5th floor!

Tomorrow we will be at the park as soon as it opens - can't wait to see Disneyland! :Pinkbounc

Hey, this free internet connection in the rooms is really cool! I'll try and check back in within the next day or so.

Curt & Karen - we'd love to get together! What hotel are you staying at? Sounds like you won't have a car available so we'll have to work something out?Cindy are you guys available? What about Tina?

Gail - I'm sure you are going to love Disneyland! We were in the Sierra Tower too! Look for Tinkerbell in the pool at night. :tink:
We fly out in 6 hours! :cheer2:

Mary - We'll be at the Westin, though I don't know which one (There are two downtown, aren't there?). You're right about us not having a car, but we're pretty comfortable with the mass transit in Chicago, so we should be able to get around fairly well. :thumbsup2

I'm even more excited about this trip, now that I know we'll be meeting up with friends, too!

Have a GREAT time on your cruise!!! pirate:

Just wanted to share some good news about Dad1 He and Mom are in Houston today meeting with the team at MD Anderson and he has been accepted into the program. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc It's quite a relief for all of us!

We should know more later today as to how soon he'll start down there - looks to be 2 weeks or so.

Great news Julie!!

Cindy - Have fun Camping!!

Mary - glad you had such a good trip

Mark & Mary - Have a great vacation!

Karen - Sorry your trip had a little damper but at least you have your baseball weekend trip to look forward to and your next trip "Home"

Gail - Knock on wood we have never been delayed when we have flown anywhere. I think it would drive ne a little crazy having to sit in the plane that long and be going no where

Well as Diana already posted we had a great trip to NYC. Watching the taping of The View was fun once we actually got inside, you do alot of standing and waiting until you actually get in the studio.
We hit the Disney Store (of course) and strolled along 5th Ave. It was just a really nice day out ya know!

Well my in-laws will be here in 1/2 hour to take us to the airport. Since I may not be checking in again until we get on the ship have a great day! Needless to say I'll have to miss chat tonight but I'll be chatting in person with some other great DIS'ers. We've got two meets planned tonight. One is dinner up in New Smyrna Beach and then another one down at the Radisson. Should be fun!

Looks like our calendar is open. :teeth: I would love it.

Are you staying downtown or in the suburbs. And, I'm guessing since your traveling with the team, you won't have a car. Right? I'm really bad with directions and locatons, but maybe someone else will have come up with a plan. :cheer2:

See, I knew someone would be able to help. :thumbsup2

Steve & Colleen are around here too. And, maybe we can coax a couple more Michigan or Indiana friends to join us. Wouldn't that be neat? ::yes::

Karen - I was supposed to be going to the game tonight but it depends on how much I get done today - I might have to send one of my ds' with his dad. I have so much catching up to do around here - wonder if the lawn mowing could wait til tomorrow. I'm up for Panera to meet up with you and Curt if he wants to come along!

A Chicago meet could be fun - I do have a trip planned to Delaware around the 10th I think but I might be up for driving out for a day or so - let me know if it's going to happen. I have a few pics for Steve that I took of the train set up near Germany.

Gail - I'm sure you and the family are having a great time out at DL - I'm heading out there in September with any luck.

Still trying to catch up on all the posts since I was away. :surfweb:

Good morning, everyone! Sorry that I haven't been around posting much. It's getting busy around here, since Emily's last day of school was yesterday. I've been lucky to just read the posts lately.

Diana & Stacy - Sounds like you guys had a good time. Love the pictures, and I'll have to record next Friday's The View, since we'll be at WDW that day.

Curt & Karen - glad to see you guys back!! It's not the same when people leave on vacation.

And, to those on vacation, or leaving soon, enjoy your vacations!! We can't wait to hear all about it when you return!!!

It's a beautiful day here in central FL, so I'm going to let the girls go swimming in the pool in a little bit. My mom's going to come over too, so we'll all have some fun swimming. My girls are turning into fishes, since we've been swimming quite a bit in the last week or so.

Happy Friday everyone!! Is anyone going to be around for chat tonight??

Ooohh, also, I just got a notice from Southwest that they are now booking through October 27th. Doesn't help for the return trip if you're staying after the cruise, but it helps for the trip down.

First off, safe travels to Mary & Mark and anyone else on the road/in the air/at sea this weekend. We're not going anywhere until October so I really enjoy hearing about everyone's plans and trip reports.

Now for our big news. Work has begun on out garage expansion. It was a shock to me to see guys pulling up bushes this morning - I really didn't think it would happen until next week. The permit should be posted by this afternoon so the reall work can begin. I still can't believe we're really doing it.

We're adding a 3rd car bay to the garage. And with that we're finishing out the attic - 2 rooms, a full bath, and two storage closets/rooms. One of those rooms will officially be my scrap/craft room. Because we're not raising the roof, we're going to drop the ceiling in the garage a few feet so there's actually decent sized space. The walls are going to be 4.5 feet vaulting up to 9 feet. That means only low shelves, but my room is going to be huge - 15.75' x 16.75' - with lots of natural light.

Awwww, c'mon, Mary! We can have a (really) mini-meet at the game! Besides, it's raining - you can't mow your lawn when it's wet! ;)

Man-oh-man! This June weekend of ours is really turning out spectacularly! Baseball and lots of good Dis friends! - Could it get any better??? :cool1:

Cindy - We won't have a car, but we should be able to get around pretty well with the train. We'll be downtown at the Westin, though I don't know which one yet. :confused3
